I saw XH558 at a few airshows, her final UK tour & once she just happened to be flying parallel to the main road near our house. A patch of brown haze on the horizon, which turned out it was being led by the big delta, passed me at what felt like twice the height of the trees & off to the other horizon. The noise & sight of her was magical!
I've always been into the Microsoft Flight Simulator. But i got older, my hardware, too. So I'm not active anymore. Still impressed by the performance of the actual version. This is beyond reality. Quite literally. Just epic. Keep it on, I'm feeling quite comfortable being a passenger 😉
Excellent video. I was very pleased to hear how accurate the intake howl was. I got to see a real one demonstrated at an airshow at SAC airbase near Omaha back in the '70's. The only plane that comes close to being as impressive in a demo is the F-22.
Had the privilege of seeing this amazing piece of equipment in flight 5 times, watched her last flight too. The howl in person is so chilling and scary, image hearing that way up high and then the next thing you know, boom 💥
A few design changes would make the difference. Modern style after burning engine nozzles, a more flush frameless cockpit etc. Do that and you’ve got a very modern looking aircraft. Amazing this thing was designed in the 50s, and a shame what’s happened to our aviation industry since then
Loved it as a kid in the 80s, and still get goosebumps when I hear the howl, either on sim, or on real videos of the remainging running (fast taxi) at southend or doncaster. Such a shame she's grounded now. But all good things come to an end. So glad they made a really good sim of her. (just a shame the chute release isn't realistic). Superb.
You basically put everything I was thinking into this message, only I got to watch XH558 operating out of RAF Lyneham a fair bit. It was so amazingly graceful, and I remember the howl from there and countless air shows at RAF Fairford and at Farnborough growing up. By the time I was flying the V bombers were all gone, and though I loved my time in the Typhoon, the Vulcan is one big bird I’d love to have experienced. You were also spot on about the chute. It was the one bit of this video that felt frustrating after everything else seemed so realistic (though I’d have liked the refuelling to have been behind a Victor for old time’s sake)
Nicely filmed. The howl sounded good BUT when you've been present for the real thing, it's just wrong watching and hearing the Vulcan without the organs in your chest vibrating. The smoke from the engines isn't done so well be MS either. Well flown though.
I believe they modelled it from XM655 in the next county to me, a lot of work went in to it for sure. They took photographs and scans of pretty much everything you can think of. I've still not tried it, but it's on my shopping list.
I watched an interview in the late 80's that involved either an air marshal/captain/pilot (long time ago now) stating that IF the Vulcan had been given permission to fly over Buenos Aries during the Falklands conflict (with afterburners) it would have had a 'significant effect' on the Argentinian's opinion on said invasion.
Lovely video, lovely flying! Strange they made a typo on the main undercarrage door, with the registration at 0:45 saying "ZH558" by mistake. Can you use custom skins with the Justflight model?
Thank you! The paint I used in the video already comes with it. In the simulator menu it is described as Avro Vulcan B Mk.2 VTTS (Olympus 200) (XH558, 2010)
Amazing quality graphics. The detail is incredible. The real XH558 is not far from me, still does engine start ups and taxi’s but isn’t allowed to fly. Real shame.
wow this bird is beautiful i love this old fasion war war 2 aircrafts like tupolov Just flight should make tu154 or tu160 tu134 Tu112 124 this all vintage aircrafts
Awesome video. But I’d like to ask a question and some help. I know how to get out and walk around and show the scenery. But when you do that, how do you record all these scenes? What application do you use.m? Thank you for any help you give me. Thank you very much.
@@DrDoid0420 Thank you! All external recordings were made with the drone's camera and using the Headtracker to simulate a real camera (in replay mode, for example) or to adjust the angle at which I want it to be focused (when I'm making a cinematic recording). All my videos are separated into "Main Recording" and "B-Roll". In other words, the entire flight is done practically inside the cabin, with replay mode recording everything. After I finish the entire flight, I start recording the B-Roll, which consists of scenes that, although not part of the main recording, complement the subject and make the video more dynamic and interactive, in addition to increasing retention. Basically, I try to turn my videos into a cinema recording. In the end, it's 200GB or more, depending on the video, just for recording the B-Roll scenes. Regarding the software used for recordings, it is Nvidia Shadowplay and the replay mode is the original one that comes with MSFS. I hope it helped and clarified. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask and I will try to clarify further.
I know what that's like. 1TB of storage becomes little when it comes to flight simulators. But Microsoft managed to reduce it and apparently MSFS 2024 is taking up around 28GB of the hard drive. But the biggest problem is the number of addons we buy and install.
There is a video on youtube, 'last flight of the vulcan', my unpopular comment was: "you could tell it was their last flight, the two pilots barely spoke in that video, like a true loveless marriage" Obviously them airshow types didnt appeciate my remark.
@@The.Drunk-Koala Have you tried any other flight simulator? Because a lot depends on the type of game you like to play. Flight simulators, for example, require time to learn about how the aircraft works and even how real aviation works, so the simulator makes sense, but when you use the simulator just to fly like in an airplane game, over time it will getting bored playing. That's what I try to do in my videos. Take away the tiring part and make everything more cinematic.
@FlightSim_Experience I have tried DCS but like you said it takes time to learn and I think that's why I would waste money on this game. This game just looks so damn cool. Without a doubt, it is one of the most incredible planes I have ever flown in Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Does MSFS include combat stuff like dropping A-bombs?
@@olivere5497 No. At most you can only use them for aesthetic visuals, but they are not usable like in DCS.

One of these planes flew over our school in 1982, they were still operational in those days. Hard to describe the beast-like sound it made.
This plane gives "absolute unit" vibes
The fact that thing handled the way it did is insane. Stunning aircraft.

Yeah. Plus, an MQ-25 Stingray Tanker UAV won't have enough fuel for a plane of that size. Let alone a massive Vulcan B2 bomber.
