why yes. people talk about his ability to scramble and spot open receivers on the run. he's not as mobile as vick or young but he manages apparently. he has two rings to show for it.
Anyone else laugh when they talked about the sensors that detect what his eyes are looking at? I'd like to see those sensors on him when he walks into a college bar...
Thanks for alerting me to this comment. Must have posted it while inebriated as i don't remember doing so. While i think my original comment has some merit i will remove it as , in making my point, i didn't mean to be critical of Big Ben Roethlisberger; the guy is obviously an excellent athlete. Your comment, by the way, seems to simulteanously support and undermine my origanal comment. Don't know if that was intentional but it's no mean feat. Anyway, thanks.
I wonder why they didn't put any accelerometer on the ball itself. I want to know how much 'zip' he has on it, or is it just not a fair test in that sense?
@blackrican924 Luis is pretty fast for a 3-4 DE or DT as he played in college. He runs a 4.79 which is average among all defensive linemen in the NFL. They wanted a player with average speed. It wouldn't be fair to put Ben up against someone like Lawrence Taylor
wow I think this actually compliments luis castillo more than big ben, don't get me wrong, big ben is more than extremely talented, possibly future HOF, but luis is not even a prolific pro bowler, he's not really been around long enough to be considered a veteran, and he's not even the main focus of the chargers dee, when he came in, he had to work toward being a starter, and he was virtually an unknown, and now look! amazing speed and agility. even with teavelling extra yardage, he's still fast
Why are they measuring the speed rush of a 3-4 defensive end!? They should have used either a 4-3 defensive end or a 3-4 OLB. Oh well it was a good watch anyway
Hines Ward has not played more years than John Stallworth has (who is in the Hall of Fame) and Ward still has more receptions, recieving yards and TD's than him. Stallworth played for 13 seasons for the Steelers, Ward is in his 10th season. He is a 4 time pro-bowler, 3 time all pro selection and Superbowl XL MVP, he hardly sucks.
@Handlez362 Ware is both faster ANd harder to block. Ware runs around the 4.5 mark and he's strong as an ox. He can push his guy over or beat him Allen is nothing more than a speed DE. Run at him to beat him
people blame the shitty o-line for big ben's sacks but big ben tells people that it is him who is causing the sacks because he moves out of his pockets a lot and scramble. he's just not a pocket QB.
How ironic would it be if the Steelers make it to, and win, Super Bowl XLIII? It'd be the same broadcast team as SBXL...whom I'm sure will make reference to the manufactured controversy that you allude to. Then, it'd be nice to see the Steelers dominate and make this a super blowout....like the old 49ers blowouts of Super Bowls past. That way, we would be able to finally put this BS to rest. No excuses...no if ands or buts... We'll see...
dude, seriously, let it go. 25 years from now when ya look back, it's still gonna say "SuperBowl XL Champs, The Pittsburgh Steelers". I mean, does it really make you feel better to make up some B.S. about the ref's being paid off ?
Are we all forgetting about how fast the receivers get open too? I mean they're not already out there ready for the quarter back to throw it.
Very cool video, thanks for sharing!
the intro is always great!

I love the dramatic music
AnishaD23 one of the greatest predictions i have seen lol
@DezzJew69 that wasnt Favre. That was some free agent QB they brought in for preseason and then released later on.
why yes. people talk about his ability to scramble and spot open receivers on the run. he's not as mobile as vick or young but he manages apparently. he has two rings to show for it.
he's not a scrambler. he just holds on to the ball for a long time and gets away with it because he's so big and hard to take down.
It would of been cool if they did this test with a prime Marino maybe the fastest release in the NFl
Ben rocks, get ready for a sixth world title
gdi...
Anyone else laugh when they talked about the sensors that detect what his eyes are looking at? I'd like to see those sensors on him when he walks into a college bar...
if you look at this one compared to the drew brees one, bens hand and arm goes about 20 mph faster!!! thats insane!!
Thanks for alerting me to this comment.

Wait did anyone else notice this was uploaded in 2007 yet Brett is on the Vikings? How??!?!
I wonder why they didn't put any accelerometer on the ball itself. I want to know how much 'zip' he has on it, or is it just not a fair test in that sense?
@MrLefty91 I think Demarcus Ware is faster ,but Allen is harder to block.
How bout we hav the line block. Not just back up a couple feet
Ben needs to step up into the dummy pocket!

@Scar2Hard he uses his peripherals.
@LordOfTheTombs That. Makes more sense. Thank you. =D
@mattizzlem08 LMAO that was the best laugh I had all day
@Scar2Hard yea, yea but he has the reaction time of a dead cat when riding a motorcycle with no helmet ~
steelers superbowl champs in 08 just wait and see
You were one year off.
steelers isn't my favorite team but i do like them yes.
Why are they measuring the speed rush of a 3-4 defensive end!? They should have used either a 4-3 defensive end or a 3-4 OLB. Oh well it was a good watch anyway
what if they took an actual speed rusher?
@mrbojanglezs :-) nice word game
Well Ronnell, im not a homosexual male which is unfortunate for you, but have fun doing your things. and yes i avoided the word you said last.

In hindsight, Ben DID win 08 season, while Drew Brees won 09.
it is not Farve i think that in the jersey it says tospers
big ben aka: captain clutch haha
they need to redo this now with Jared Allen..... No one would have a chance
R u a Steelers fan?
steelers rule!!!
Hines Ward baby!!!!!
Im Ravens fan.
xDDD Luis is screwed now xD
actually all you have to do is chip the guy. You use his momentum against him so a nudge is sometimes all you need
So r u saying Ben is a roll out passer?
STEELERS
I think he forgot to tell his teamates about it
:(
@DezzJew69 it's not Favre.
@Handlez362 Ware is both faster ANd harder to block. Ware runs around the 4.5 mark and he's strong as an ox. He can push his guy over or beat him Allen is nothing more than a speed DE. Run at him to beat him
Man Big Ben really raped the stats.
anyone want chicken
Where was his reaction time on his motorcycle? Or when Bart Scott laid his ass out?
did they have to bail him out for this? ol jk i like him.
No, Maybe he Equals T-BOW, If at Best.
No, Obviously im a Fan Of Tim Tebow, and i stand behind my side. Simple.
what dog
yeah, or they could have just had Big Ben do a three step drop instead of a five...
people blame the shitty o-line for big ben's sacks but big ben tells people that it is him who is causing the sacks because he moves out of his pockets a lot and scramble. he's just not a pocket QB.
I like Tim Tebow too but he is not better the Big Ben. That is a fact.

damn
Obviously his reaction time takes a lot of assumptions and proves nothing. I also wonder if this was before his cycle accident (further proof fyi)
What Now You Ask? Well you trying to answer that with i don't think so, makes no sense, and the 1 Matters most if its the last game. So What now?
That looks more than a foot.
Teddy Roosevelt Rode a Moose. Your Argument is now invalid.
they shulda used jay cutler hes got a stronger arm
@BLong114 the average play is just under 4 seconds, check your facts first.

chicken legs
It's "sucks".
And I'm pretty sure you couldn't do better.
You obviously don't know jack about football.

did everyone forget about the rape?
Chris White shut up nigga
