    Our blue housing measures 20 inches not 23 inches like your chart. Does your 23 inches include the black top of the housing?

    Is there a problem with have more than a 3 stage whole house water filtration? I would like two 3 stage whole house water filtration but a plumber said that having more than three stages would cause stagnant water and cause bacteria growth. Is that true? Because rather its one stage, two stage, or six stage, to me it seems like it will still be the same amount of water sitting in filter housings. Thank you for answering my earlier question.

      No, you can have as many stages as you need to remedy your concerns about your water. Have your water tested, then address the concern. See waterestore.com/pages/free-water-test-evaluation-the-water-estore

    Do you accept water samples to test and then make recommendations for filters after testing?

    Are filter housings made to fit any brand and type of filter as long as the filter is the appropriate length for that filter housing?

      @GarytheWaterGuy  2 месяца назад

      Generaslly speaking yes, but there may be some exceptions. If you aren't sure, you can email us pictures of what you have and are looking for and we can make recommendations. info@waterestore.com

    I have a whole house softener / carbon catalytic filtration system from Leaf Home Water Solutions and just wanted to know if you heard of it and is it something you could potentially have parts for?

      We might. Email us pictures of your equipment and what you need, to info@waterestore.com and we'll see if we can help.

    Great info Gary!
    I'm on well water, with a softener system, sulphur remover, and a Viqua UV light system.
    My ONLY filter is the 5 micron sediment filter prior to my UV light (this is after the water has gone through my softener). Is that sufficient? My big blue filter seems to be clogging up quite quickly (4-6 months) and recently I had one "let go" and I had grey silt like residue in my toilets, showers and sinks after running the water.

      In some cases this would be enough but not in yours. I would add a 7525 pre filter like this one waterestore.com/products/pentek-filter-20-big-blue-sediment-dgd-7525-20bb-155356-43

    Gary we have a Life Source system and have replaced the whole underground cartridge once in 15 years. I can't get good service, makntenance or even info from our local reps. Jonestly I dont even know exactly what it is supposed to filter or clean if anything....is it just a carbon filter for taste? What would you recommend for improving purity- not sure if thats the right term-removing contaminants and chemicals, (we drink la dwp water which is sewage water that's been "cleaned" and sent back to us to drink), softening, and taste?

      It really depends on what is in your water in the first place, which is why I always recommend having it tested first. See this video ruclips.net/video/Z0WIU5sDzjo/видео.html

    I use this filter for car cleaning what filter would be best to lower my PPM this is my pre filter thanks.

    • @GarytheWaterGuy
      @GarytheWaterGuy  4 месяца назад

      Reverse Osmosis or deionization are the only ones that will lower ppm. I find soft water works just fine for my cars.

    Is that only for your filters? Is it proprietary or can i get them at lowes?

    • @GarytheWaterGuy
      @GarytheWaterGuy  2 месяца назад

      All of the filters shown in this video are non proprietary. We do not recommend proprietary ones, and avoid selling any equipment that uses them.

    Dear Gary...
    I've learned a lot from your videos over the past couple years.
    We installed an Apec 50gpd. It wastes an enormous amount of water.
    If I put in a larger membrane will that reduce the water usage?
    Thank You for Your time.
    Sincerely,
    Ed

    • @GarytheWaterGuy
      @GarytheWaterGuy  11 месяцев назад

      No, there is more to it than just replacing the membrane.

    Is there a filter for high Manganese in city water?

    • @GarytheWaterGuy
      @GarytheWaterGuy  7 месяцев назад

      Great question, a water softener also removes manganese and iron from water.
