    Back in the late 70's, I used to work for a typesetting company, we used to play this nearly every night. Thanks for posting, brought back some great memories.

      ​ @treadgingerly He probably played on several, though he had zero interest in trying to compose hits. They wouldnt have been #1s without the session musicians and producers - often just fronted by a pretty face

      @@mattiasorre1718 A lot of hits were recorded with session musicians because (a) they were familiar with the recording process; (b) they were better musicians than most rock and pop bands. Jimmy Page played on loads of recordings in the 1960s.

    many happy memories following these guys around Hampshire in the early 60's. The accent is Andover - town in north Hampshire and I have the accent! Spent a lovely half hour in the late 90's talking to Reg in Salisbury Cathedral about cropcircles and life in general. I shinned up a drainpipe at the old Gaumont theatre in Southampton to get to their dressing room! x x

    Classic example of why most bands can't self-produce. Everyone thinks their idea is best and nobody wants to give any ground. And even more so if you have multiple type-A personalities within.
