    This is a simple way to find out if your tires making noise, of course wheel bearing, differential, brake rotors, Axles and all rolling parts can make noise, however tires usually make slightly different noise since they are rubber, keep in mind there are some tires like truck tires, snow tires, specialty tire and etc. they have deep tread and different tread patterns (those type of tires are noisy from the day you buy them), my focus here on high low or uneven tread!

    Best kits to check your tires or hum noise first first time seeing this great explanation
    I have a similar noise they told me it’s both bearing in the back but it only makes noise around 15 to 25 at higher speed there’s no noise but when slowing down u can hear it

      Wheel bearing and tire noise are somehow similar and it depends on how bad the tire tread are, if the tire tread look similar to what you see in this video or worse, you can start with changing tires first since you have to change them anyway, but if you notice vertical play in the tire most likely it is the bearing that causing noise too, Thanks

      Some tires are not perfectly round from the factory. In such a case they will develop a harmonic/bouncing effect and the problem can get worse over time by itself.

    Hi and thanks for the video, I have a similar problem but I can't compare because you don't have the sound while driving the car, so maybe is possible sent you my recording of the sound and tell me if is the same or similar, because the technicians said is the wheel bearing or the CV axle

    • @carservicepro
      @carservicepro  2 года назад +2

      Hello, it is not easy to tell from recording, I don't want to give you the wrong diagnosis, the car has to be driven by the person who is checking it, if one tire has this high low tread , it is most likely the tire, very rare for the axle or CV joint to make humming noise, axles usually make clicking noise or vibration, you can change tire location and see if the noise follow the tire, also if only one tire you can put on the spare and see if the noise goes away, your mechanic should have the confident in finding the source of the noise, I am sorry this is the most I can help since I am not near the car, good luck and thanks

    • @carservicepro
      @carservicepro  2 года назад +3

      It is always recommended to change any part on the vehicle that shows sign of wear before it get worse, I cant say it is urgent or not, all it depends how bad your tire is, in my opinion I will change it, because I don't like surprises, it is like when you hear accessories belt noise or brake starts to whistle, don't wait until the belt snaps or the brakes to go down to the rotors metal to metal, I will have this under preventive maintenance and change any part the I suspect might cause any issue while I am driving, Thanks

    • @carservicepro
      @carservicepro  2 месяца назад

      Not all tires are created equal. Certain brands may be well-suited for smaller cars but could prove uncomfortable for others. It's important to consider that tires are composed of rubber and steel, which can react differently to factors like temperature, weather conditions, duration of storage, and road conditions, depending on the materials used in manufacturing. Additionally, tire pressure significantly influences their performance. Apart from these considerations, issues with wheel bearings could also arise. I recommend having your car inspected by a trusted mechanic.

  • @jasonhendricks8587

    What could it be if it's a consistent humming noise. I've changed the wheel.bearing and axel and also bought a new tire

    • @carservicepro
      @carservicepro  2 года назад

      Check the differential and if it is 4 wheel drive you need to check both differentials, also check the drive shaft if you have one, one note if tires are winter tires or the threads have big gaps they will make noise, however you should have your vehicle inspected by good Mechanic, Good luck 🤞

    • @carservicepro
      @carservicepro  2 года назад +2

      I don't think so, usually this tire wear caused by bad suspension, I recommend fixing the suspension parts causing this which is most likely the shocks or struts and replace the tire and make sure air pressure to specs, I have seen others sand the tire thread with Sander machine to even out the threads, but I never tried it and I don't recommend it, thanks

    Is there a way to fix this without changing the tire?

    • @carservicepro
      @carservicepro  4 месяца назад +4

      When it comes to uneven tire treads, it's usually best to go ahead and replace the tire altogether for safety reasons. However, in some cases, if the outer tread is in good condition but the inner tread is uneven, you might have the option to have a tire shop flip the tire on the rim. This technique only works for symmetric tires, which don't have a specific inside or outside indicated on the tire wall. Flipping the tire might help reduce noise, but please keep in mind that this is just a temporary solution. Ultimately, it's still recommended to replace the tire as soon as possible to ensure your safety on the road.

      Hi Nick, not sure if I understood your question, however if there is noise after installing new tires, you may have bad wheel bearing or the the tread design on the new tires are making the noise similar to truck tires. @@099JOEY Hello. Thank you for sharing your experience. I spent a lot time searching for potential solution or causes of this issue.
      I begin thinking that it could not be tires issue. I mean tires are the source of the noise, but I think it is just tires threads disign and much more softer rubber of winter tires that cause tires make sounds like a chopper (helicopter).
      However, I doubt that it causes any vibration.
      I put my headphones and listen to music reality loud and I dont feel more vibration than usually.
      I suspect that the reason for tires to make this noise is the much bigger winter tires contact area with road especially when the temperature above 0 Celsius.
      I am going to wait until temperature drops below 0 Celsius to see what will happen.
      Also if you did force road balancing it should show if your tires out of round.
      I mean if something is wrong with tires shape or if they have any flat areas force road balancing should have revealed this.
      Please keep me posted on this issue.

      It depends on how bad is the wheel bearing, in some cases you need the vehicle load on the bearing, when it is of the ground there is very much no load, in any case you can try to see if you notice some play if you wiggle the wheel vertically! If there is no axle through the bearing like if you check the rear wheel on FWD vehicles this one is easy to spin the wheel by hand of the ground, you will hear abnormal noise easier!
