It's a little strange tbh, crazy that I can't just a be a regular person and I have to put my soul on the internet...
20 years ago, working as a waiter, I lived in a corner 1 bedroom apartment, downtown with amazing water views for $700/month. That apartment is now rented for $3,600/month. As a lawyer at 47 I am unable to afford living in the apartment I did at age 27 while waiting tables.

It's certainly sucks, my guy. You just have to close down your mind from thinking about the pain too often and keep doing things that reinforce to your mind that you are pushing forward and are actively making positive life momentum.
My worst period was when my parents divorced and moved to different countries, all of my grandparents died, my brother went to college as well as most of my friends and I was left taking care of the family dog and commuting to class. I had a gf and I treated her very well and she rewarded me by stopping her pill to get pregnant. I was still grinding and then just after my son was born 9ll happened and the rest of my friends went off to war. She cheated on me and brutalized me in the courts for years and then kidnapped my son to another state, the gov not only didn't care but punished me because I wasn't seeing him often enough. I nearly ended it for about 6mos-year (huge mistake), but I eventually pulled through.
I'm glad things are improving for you. Most people will turn a blind eye to people who are struggling and not being able to talk about it makes it worse. Keep pushing and you'll build the mindset that could even put you in a better position than other people that are just now going through it for the first time. Respect.

There’s a few other things, like a death family in the family and a pet dying and girl triubuu my ex that I just dudbt bother getting into…I guess they were overshadowed by other things.

I don't think anyone is really a loner, people tend to think they are when they simply haven't found their people or that single person they can forge a lifelong connection with. There's so many circumstances and variables that dictate even having those opportunities. Life is just bullshit.

I need to move away to find my people but I'm afraid that I will find the same situation that I have where I am now. If I'm going to move cross country to find my people only to not find them, Id rather stay put. There is just too much risk
I don’t know if lifelong connection is a thing, at least in 2024 it’s all seasonal, not just for me but for others too

I live with my parents currently, helping my Dad as he's health problems come and goes. I don't have any other relatives nearby to help them. My sister lives far away so she can't come and help all the time.
Although i live with my parents currently, I do contribute to the house, I help out, do chores, keep everything clean.
By the way I do not take advantage of them. I have a full time job. I still see my friends and go out etc.
But in the western world, it blows peoples mind especially white/english people that I live with my parents and I've lost some friends because they think something is wrong with me but i think it's a shitty way to treat someone different because of their living situation. I guess they weren't my friend to begin with.

@@IRLWojak yeah I think people are ignorant to some degree. Society dictates certain things but I think everyone’s circumstances and path are different and we shouldn’t just follow society’s ideals e.g “get married at X age”, “have this many kids”, “move out and buy a house by this age”
I currently help my parents I know some people talk behind my back and are saying “he’s lazy”, “he’s scrounging off them” etc without actually knowing the truth/reality.
With some people I just can’t win. So I just ignore them.

All the "friends" or should I say acquaintances I know, every time I reach out since I turned 33 I get no reciprocity, when my mom was battling cancer & my brother was battling with mental disorders, its been hard coming from a broken home with very little education to realize the people that are closest to you have narcissistic traits & mental disorders & how to go about it, it has thought me lots, how to let go of things, you can't change to accept em as they are & that communicating is key, finding understanding & reasoning in consensus, having more empathy to broaden ones vision & let in some humanity, like politicians they use various subject to control & change the conversation.
Real friends after 12 are hard to come by...but they can be found.

@@IRLWojak That's good news. You have daughters. One of the biggest dangers is bringing in a new non-blood related male into the home (new boyfriend). An acquantance of mine lost (dead) his older teenage sister to this situation. Not trying to scare you, but better to be aware. Keep lifting weights, only good things come from it.
