In one episode of one of his shows he went to Hawaii and he said he would never eat Spam. Out of all the weird foods he has eaten all over the world he wouldn’t eat spam.
I asked him personally about it. And it’s more about the fact that it is processed. He’s eaten scrapple before which is similar. It’s a principle thing for him. Which I respect but can’t understand because I’m from Hawaii.

True but he still eats most of the food that is fresh and not as processed as spam. It may seem strange but the foods he ate like the meat he ate was much better quality, and not the type of meat in sausages that have different parts all mixed together that’s highly processed. It really depends how you see it. Spam is kinda gross if you think about it.

Durian smells like rotting onions. The texture is creamy, and for me the flavor is like a mixture of mango, banana, a bit of strawberry, and rotting onions.
Durian tastes like something different to everyone. To me, it tastes like butterscotch and onions. But that was just the hard candy. I am willing to try actual durian if I can find it.
Walnuts. There was an episode where he revealed that he hated walnuts. A pair of children challenged him to try it again. He did, but once more made a disgusted face.
I love how he can eat a tarantula just find, but hate something as common as walnuts.

Surstromming is fantastic if done right. Put it on flat bread with smashed boiled new potatoes, green onions, butter, and sour cream makes a great sandwich. Hakarl isn't bad at all if you like ammonia flavors like in salmiak, just mixed with a strong fishy taste. Durian does leave a lingering onion taste in your mouth which is a bit unpleasant, but the smooth sweetness is worth it.

I have a friend who loves kippers just right out the can. It smelled so bad when she'd open the can and I never understood how she could eat them.

I wouldn't try any of these. I have tried durian once but it wasn't a taste worth repeating. I might try it as part of another dessert, but by itself it's not worth the price. I can eat fresh sushi and poke, and I can handle fish sauce, but that's about it!
Oh also; I just CANNOT understand why humans would eat things that are flat-out HORRIBLE, like Durian, & bamboo rat, that rotten Icelandic shark, or baby ducks embryos in Manila. It’s so gross, & there’s LOTS of things to eat that are GOOD! 🤷🏽♂️

Actually the rotted Icelandic shark meat that he sampled was actually sweet it's nutty and it's only faintly fishy. So in no way did he knock the shark meat he actually praised it

Any who has tried dog meat won't know what really the meat until they are told. Dog meat just tastes like some kind of unusual meat... I didn't mind dog meat. Is is very lean and not very fatty....
Don't forget he also didn't like pandesal (bread) and ice cream in the Philippines. Guy is weird.
Yeah I mistakenly eat dog in South Korea. It smells like wet dog and which made spit it out. I didn't know what it was until later in the week while walking down one alley I saw dog paws dangling from a garbage can. 😢 Not cool. 😮

Spam is nasty
With the dog meat situation. It’s not immoral that they eat dog. It’s immoral that they eat dog and keep them as pets. They understand the emotional connection with the animal but still eat them. Seems strange, you raise livestock with passion and care but you understand the end for them is as good. I wonder if that’s how they look at their dogs
I'm opposed to it simply because I've seen how they keep the dogs that are meant to be eaten. They aren't even treated as well as cattle.
Cat "farms" are even worse. Literally horrific. If you don't believe me, there are videos.

I have two dogs at home, seeing a butchered dog being prepared for a meal will not only disgust me but hurt my feelings too. We belong in the US.
Eating dog, cat or horse meat is halfway to cannibalism for me. I know that they are edible (and so is human flesh), but I don't want to eat them.
