The ref is really struggling. It's not nollie cab or nollie half cab, they don't exist, and there's a difference between 360 shuv and impossible, and it was clear that was a 360 shuv.
happyfoxproductions this whole game of skate gives a fake official vibe to it, during that time frame i mentioned in my first comment shane and mike mo were playing like its batb. caught mike right there in the zone. threw the whole game off for mike mo (somehow still pulled it) my point being is that this xgames game of skate just doesnt seem as fun for the skaters compared to batb. theberrics for life, thrasher for life too.
i'm not sure but in the star o'neill do 360 pop shuvit and fakie 360 pop shuvit , the man say " ollie impossible and fakie impossible " he say shit or is good ? thinks
Timothy Paulino that's why it's called a nollie half-Cab. you can't ride regular and switch at the same time either, which is why a switch 180 is called a SWITCH 180. not too hard to understand.
Eh. Lots of people say that. Cabs are supposed to be a fakie-only trick, but plenty of credible mags/sites/RUclips channels use the phrase. Plenty of pros use the phrase too. I'll say nollie bs flip or nollie front heel, but if it's a 360, I'll just default to nollie cab heel -- it's easier to say than "nollie bs 360 heelflip," especially in games of skate with people.
Low Budget Productions yawn. do i really have to explain to a lil' kid why a NOLLIE CAB is NOLLIE, and a CAB is FAKIE. same way a SWITCH 180 is SWITCH, and a 180 is REGULAR. duuuuuurrrrrr... we'll do your 1+1's and your ABC's in the next lesson.
+David Wilkinson actually the first from Shane it was a impossible if I'm not wrong. I think the one is fakie was also an impossible. Or at least many people fails it when he puts them in BATB
doesn't really matter to be honest. i mean you can nitpick it and technically it's not a nollie cab, but if you listen to pro skaters talk sometimes even they don't know the proper names. i've heard pros call a nollie front heel a nollie half cab heel before, i mean technically that's wrong but it doesn't really matter
When Reynolds Nollie Cabbed Carlsbad way back in the day, he called it Nollie Cab. Honestly, trick names evolve as fast as tricks do and the pros understood this. If it didn't, we'd be stuck with Magic Flips.
Gunther Unbekannt Actually a lot of pros are a bit clueless about trick names and skateboarding history as well, even the ones you thought were here for a long time so just because someone's a pro doesn't mean he's right.
Yep, you're right. Reynolds is clueless on trick names and knows nothing about skate history. He's only been one of the best for 15+ years and owned a leading company for 10. (Sarcasm). Seriously if the boss doesn't care about the name, neither should you. There's no point in trying to nitpick it
Yo announcer dude, you've gotta have a chat with one of these dudes about what tricks they were doing because just about everything called it was not the right name for the trick.
This was really a disgrace to a game of skate between two great people. There was not build up like you would see in any normal game of skate. Almost rusted because of the crowd and the people reffing. This is a strategy type of game, working away you opponent. I understand that skateboarding getting bigger, the publicity is good for big and small companies alike getting into skating and supporting the community. But this is just going to far.
I feel like games of skate shouldn't have an announcer shouting out what all the tricks are. It was bad enough when The Berrics started editing in the technical name of every single trick (ex.: "Backside 180 kickflip"). Nearly everybody that is watching these games already knows every single trick that's being done, except for the weird ones.
Shane misinterpreted the last trick as an impossible late front foot flip when it was a late back foot flip. :( Also, why is it such a big deal to call it a Nollie half-cab? It means it is the same motion as a regular half-cab but Nollie instead of fakie. I understand that it is more accurate to say Nollie frontside 180 but Nollie half-cab has 3 fewer syllables and it is relatively intuitive to understand and if it actually causes confusion you could just explain that a Nollie half-cab is a Nollie frontside 180. It's not that hard, but once you get used to it it is simply much easier and faster to say and "half-cab" is objectively cooler than saying "frontside 180". TLDR: why the fuck does it matter so much to so many people?
Funny thing I noticed was that skateboarders actually don't visit these X-Games events. Watching crowd you can barely see someone who might be skateboarding. So this kinda feels awkward. For what audience is this mean for? Tim O'Connor seems to be the only one who's psyched on the front seats.
In my opinion BATB is better for the reason they actually name the right tricks and more space to complete your trick (Luan would not be able to compete here). All good for skateboarding to see more SKATE matches between pros i guess but i will just stick to BATB when they come out.
and it is really silent so that the skaters can concentrate instead of having a shitty clueless narration with a ref who acts like he knows what he is doing so he can have that "im a skater" look.
was that late pressure flip not a dolphin? and wtf is a late pressure flip? the pressure flip happens when you apply pressure on your board against the ground and cannot really be done while in the air??????
A late pressure flip is all done with his back foot. A dolphin flip, also known as a forward flip is a vertical varial flip done completely with the front foot.
then wouldnt it be a back foot flip variation? im just curious about the physics of this. like i said, a pressure flip (to me) implies that pressure is applied before the pop
Come on, they have to know about ro-sham-bo yet they make them do a coin flip smh. Also, they need a bigger stage and an commentator who knows what he's talking about. Then it'd be good.
That's the most unnecessarily elaborate platform ever used for SKATE.
looks cool tho
I would prefer smooth concrete like the berrics, but that's my opinion.
I noticed, seven years old but I don't see how it's elaborate
this is what they did forever too. i remember the old es game of skates on these things
hows luan ganna skate this small area with all his speed and pop
Haha he'll smash into the glass. Either that or he will be forced only to take one push instead of three.
ground looked like if u stomped hard enough u'd go through it lol.
crowd full of soccer moms and longboarders. lol
You're not wrong. 😂
Wow, tough crowd. Also, what the hell is up with that platform of doom? That's the last thing I'd want to skate.
They could do without that clueless ref
OH MIKE MO HOLD UP WE GOTTA PLAY REPLAYS! Is this football?
bad filming , you can't just film a game of skate like a basketball game
Yeah you can
agreed, theboard takes up only like 1% of the screen
The announcers really take away from the genuine feeling of tension.
The ref is really struggling. It's not nollie cab or nollie half cab, they don't exist, and there's a difference between 360 shuv and impossible, and it was clear that was a 360 shuv.
and the late pressure flip which is impossible
Koszik That was actually a right call.
you cant do late pressure flips cause you can put pressure on the board when its in the air
Its the same motion so they call it a late pressure flip
mrthekingofal if anything I think it would be considered a late back foot dolphin flip
Instant replay - reserve them for after the game. Mike mo almost didn't land that trick because his momentum got killed.
3:53 - 4:15 pissed me off so much.
hahah just curious why?
happyfoxproductions this whole game of skate gives a fake official vibe to it, during that time frame i mentioned in my first comment shane and mike mo were playing like its batb. caught mike right there in the zone. threw the whole game off for mike mo (somehow still pulled it) my point being is that this xgames game of skate just doesnt seem as fun for the skaters compared to batb. theberrics for life,
thrasher for life too.
AngrySkateNerd
remember eS game of skate? that shit was intense haha
Yeah too bad eS was skateboarder owned and that Game of Skate contest was the best thing that ever happened. I mean come on, it inspired BATB.
how about some jerkoff stopping the game to show a replay of a trick you set, but its not your replay.
flipping a coin?! Yo, it's Ro-Sham-Bo fool!!!!
That was an impressive nollie full cab flip bro
That's not even what the trick is called
+mfeddd I bet u can't even do a nollie full cab kickflip 360 bro
japncuz cabilarial is FAKIE bs 360
Nollie trick is called nollie fs 360 flip
why should he lie, i can do them too, it's not an impossible trick
japncuz curb surfing for life
i'm not sure but in the star o'neill do 360 pop shuvit and fakie 360 pop shuvit , the man say " ollie impossible and fakie impossible " he say shit or is good ? thinks
1:09 its a 3shove not an impossible
Bro I was yelling lol 😂
where did they get this ref?
splitmaster3
Ross Dress for Less
Mike mo is such a monster with those late flips
"Hold up a second, replay." -__________-
"nollie full cab flip"
yep. at least he got that name right.
"Nollie halfcab heel." They couldn't just say nollie front heel? *SMH*
lmao
Ty Heuksal But halfcab means you are riding fakie. You can't ride nollie and fakie at the same time.
Timothy Paulino that's why it's called a nollie half-Cab. you can't ride regular and switch at the same time either, which is why a switch 180 is called a SWITCH 180. not too hard to understand.
nollie full cab flip. are you fucking serious haha
Eh. Lots of people say that. Cabs are supposed to be a fakie-only trick, but plenty of credible mags/sites/RUclips channels use the phrase. Plenty of pros use the phrase too.
I'll say nollie bs flip or nollie front heel, but if it's a 360, I'll just default to nollie cab heel -- it's easier to say than "nollie bs 360 heelflip," especially in games of skate with people.
that's what it's called numbnuts. you're prob like 15 so u don't have a clue.
+GTFOBah you're an idiot. cabs aren't nollie
+GTFOBah a cab is a fakie trick dawg. I bet you think a fs overcrook is a real trick too huh
I know the whole thing is a bit over played but the consistency of these skaters is amazing
calling 3 shuvs impossibles, yeah skateboardings is going downhill
+David Wilkinson its just the xgames shit. its because the announcers dont skate
+David Wilkinson actually the first from Shane it was a impossible if I'm not wrong. I think the one is fakie was also an impossible. Or at least many people fails it when he puts them in BATB
+Mª del Prado Azanon no thats just how he does 3 shuvs man
Honestly they look similar,
and that's how my impossible look like
Look at David Gonzales' impossibles they look similar to Shane's 360 shove
nollie half-cab FeelsBadMan
What was the ref smoking?
"like horse in basketball", "hold on, hold on", "unable to...", "wasting no time"...
so fucking annoying.. watch it on mute.
good game though
Dafuq is a nollie cab, half cab? Is this a new trend? I thought they were just nollie bs/fs 180, first time I heard em called like that.
doesn't really matter to be honest. i mean you can nitpick it and technically it's not a nollie cab, but if you listen to pro skaters talk sometimes even they don't know the proper names. i've heard pros call a nollie front heel a nollie half cab heel before, i mean technically that's wrong but it doesn't really matter
metalguitarist11
I know, I actually can't stand it. It does matter because as we know the rotations differs in nollie and fakie.
When Reynolds Nollie Cabbed Carlsbad way back in the day, he called it Nollie Cab. Honestly, trick names evolve as fast as tricks do and the pros understood this. If it didn't, we'd be stuck with Magic Flips.
Gunther Unbekannt

"this got the fans on their feet"
*no one stands or moves
"This is going to be a battle royal between these two" ahaha do they even know what battle royal means?!
at least he said nollie back heel correctly haha
Whats the difference between ollie impossible and unpossible
correction: the last trick was the mike mo flip
Fakie front side half cab flip?
> Nollie full cab flip
> Late pressure flip
> Impossible
> Nollie Half Cab Heel
Goddamn ref
late pressure flip is correct
sick skaters but this contest was whack. worse than street league commentators
You'll want to mute the audio of this video…
I swear Shane called heads at the beginning
Lol "nollie cabs" don't exist, and this whole thing has such an awkward vibe to it
Mike Mo taking sweet revenge for their batb rematch
I haven't skated in quite a while but I'm pretty sure those weren't impossibles
Man, you are amazing skater
mike mo pulled that same 360 shuv and called it an impossible last game with shane lol cmon bro
mike mo is fucking unstoppable.
Thanks man, I love you
Muzak. Golf claps. This is what skateboarding is all about.
Announcers should not be talking if they don't know shit
this shouldn't even exist, the berrics is where its at.
i love the way Mike Mo Capaldi skates I kinda skate the same way
Shane's 3 shuvs are not impossibles
Yo announcer dude, you've gotta have a chat with one of these dudes about what tricks they were doing because just about everything called it was not the right name for the trick.
notice how mike props most of the high fives lmao
its called cabbage
It's Espn do you expect them to be berrics level on the names and stuff.
why upload agoin for?
interviewer: "So who went for the throat first"
Mike Mo: "well he did a switch double tre so..."
Your my favorite pro hope you get better soon
If Luan plays Shane in the finals of BATB X, all he's gotta do is a buncha hardflip variations and it's game over.
why was tim o connor not officiating this game!??
This was really a disgrace to a game of skate between two great people. There was not build up like you would see in any normal game of skate. Almost rusted because of the crowd and the people reffing. This is a strategy type of game, working away you opponent. I understand that skateboarding getting bigger, the publicity is good for big and small companies alike getting into skating and supporting the community. But this is just going to far.
nollie half cab??????
I feel like I'm watching golf
I wanted Shane to win its all good though Mike Mo and Shane killed it. GG
Just keep it in the berrics
Not an impossible bruh.
FYI x games had game of skate before BATB even way before the whole site they just stop airing it
BATB is still better though
So many impossibles... highly improbable ;)
Nollie impossible?
Shane misinterpreted the last trick as an impossible late front foot flip when it was a late back foot flip. :(
Also, why is it such a big deal to call it a Nollie half-cab? It means it is the same motion as a regular half-cab but Nollie instead of fakie. TLDR: why the fuck does it matter so much to so many people?
and why the fuck does that matter so much to? so much you had to write your opinion on a comment section. lol
Should have done it at an empty parking lot
they should put in a flatbar and have them play a game of skate on that
Funny thing I noticed was that skateboarders actually don't visit these X-Games events. Watching crowd you can barely see someone who might be skateboarding. So this kinda feels awkward. For what audience is this mean for? Tim O'Connor seems to be the only one who's psyched on the front seats.
lol why did he call the nollie fs heel a nollie halfcab heel but then didn't call the nollie back heel a nollie halfcab heel. NOLLIE HALFCABS BRUHH!!!
I vote we let the Berrics host it if they wanna try this again.
Nice game Mike
Stoping for a reply " face palm" like why??
I guess black t-s with black jeans and hats are in
so glad he didn't say fakie frontside flip haha
Mike mo is the only guy to beat shane twice
I love you man
all of these people dont even know what they're watching
ah shit nollie half cab heel too what the fuck yo!!
Hey mike congrats.
do these guys not know the difference between impossibles and 360 shuvits?
1:29 How is that even possible?
Well the judge or whatever he is might as well say impossible flip when Shane did the 360 flip
In my opinion BATB is better for the reason they actually name the right tricks and more space to complete your trick (Luan would not be able to compete here). All good for skateboarding to see more SKATE matches between pros i guess but i will just stick to BATB when they come out.
Yeah man battle at the berrics will always top every game of skate comp
and it is really silent so that the skaters can concentrate instead of having a shitty clueless narration with a ref who acts like he knows what he is doing so he can have that "im a skater" look.
Nollie halfcab😂
was that late pressure flip not a dolphin? and wtf is a late pressure flip? the pressure flip happens when you apply pressure on your board against the ground and cannot really be done while in the air??????

then wouldnt it be a back foot flip variation? im just curious about the physics of this. like i said, a pressure flip (to me) implies that pressure is applied before the pop
Cody Chase There is no pop in a pressure flip, it's a scooping motion. Which is the same motion done in the air by Mike.
0:40 that's a a 3 shove, when will they learn...
2:10 that camera is HUGE as fuck! Seriously though!
Mike mo 4 life
Tiny course, poor luan...
hate how they're constantly talking during the game. But i just came for the skating.
dude the little kids and car pool moms in the crowd are way worse than anything these announcers say
the game of skate was great but im sorry this video was just terrible due to the ref and the commentary
mozilla strikes again
thyat referee didnt even know the right trick
Come on, they have to know about ro-sham-bo yet they make them do a coin flip smh. Also, they need a bigger stage and an commentator who knows what he's talking about. Then it'd be good.
So shane cant switch hardflip huh? I knew there had to be at least one trick he stuggles with..
Lol I'm sure most people struggle with that trick. Except probably sewa
one? lol shane struggles with almost all variations of hardflips and inward heels. even when he lands them he has some of the ugliest ones.
I can switch hard flip easy as pie but the regular hard flips have always eluded me.
I don't know why he thinks that 3 shuv and fake 3 were impossibles his foot didn't stay on the board
Ain't got shit on batb
