If only everyone could hear this masterful arrangement. Always a pleasure and a privilege hearing Punch Brothers, hope to hear them again live once the world starts spinning again!
A really virtuosic performance - brilliant, hilarious (the banjo runs had me rolling around in hysterics). It just shows that such fabulous music can speak for itself regardless of how it's presented. Well done guys, fantastic effort.
I agree...with Mozart, there is no such thing as 'too many notes'. For one, such was the ...'style', and expected norm of the pieces composed during the Baroque period....also, each 'section' is basically composed of the very same note and chord progression, but with each iteration, 'more detail'.. and therefore more notes are added to each iteration throughout the movement.
substitute piano/clavichord/haprsichord for the banjo and this would be instrumentation known at the time (and cello rather than bass continuo). They are not doing anything not already well stablished, as with Bach's rearrangements of Vivaldi. But they are doing it freaking well.
wonderful, another great one classical piece, yuu huuuuu

All of them are amazing musicians. I love hearing them play classical! It sounds awesome! :)
There's no words on how epic, this truly is well done by the Punch Brothers, they did song justice.
This is a truly excellent rendition of a wonderful piece.
I love the comment from the audience at about 18 seconds. I was thinking the same thing!
😊❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Fantastic! Love this piece and this movement. Well done.
Just absolutely beautiful!
Mozart, WA, would be proud. Excellant job guys.
Mozart would be playing along and laughing all the way.
PBSQ - Punch Brothers String Quartet. Maybe they should play the Edgar Meyer string quintet with Paul Kowert.
Wonderful coda, wasn't it?
I've always thought the mandolin has a very harpsichord-ish sound to it.
Gail Hapke Considering the harpsichord plays by strings being plucked instead of hammered, you're certainly not far off.
I've always thought the same, but about the banjo, actually...
Totally AWESOME!!!
Amazing
thile is unreal at the mandolin. amazing.
Brilliant!!
Sick.
@leomulder I think Gabe was did both and took lessons until he was 14 or 17 for traditional violin.
Ok, that was awesome! and hilarious! (in a good way). Loved it!
Pretty sure this will be illegal soon considering that after just one dose I may be hooked for life!
I'll be first in line for the all Mozart album (or Bach).
They are amazing. Perhaps the violinist could play more in the middle part of the bow to jump a bit😅
Noam- “Paul, bring me a beer too”
The "Mozart Mountain Daredevils"
Salieri too
@lsmab Pretty sure it was supposed to.

USC school of music, 12 years of classical violin lessons, etc....
The 4 people who dilsiked this are related to Antonio Scalieri
Haha 0:17 "jesus christ"

Where's Paul?
rico frus
+Christopher Shelley It's a string quartet, I think - so no part for Paul to play?
+Loren Whitaker 4
1 person wouldn't know talent if it hit them in the face.
it sounds like bluegrass! sorry but it got a dislike from me. :-(
U dum
dude 😔
Is the mandolin playing the first violin part, or do they switch off?
