That’s amazing John! Just a reminder that it’s obvious no matter what your sexual preference you (johnbullock8885) definitely scare away the hoes and are 100% bitchless 😀
I did a long overdue day trip this past weekend to a small Utah desert town with my X-Pro2. It really reminded me of why I love that camera. I brought along extra lenses but found myself sticking to the 35f2. I was delighted with the whole day and with the subject matter and how the photos came out. I had been fighting a bad case of GAS for a Leica M but I realize now I was just in a restless rut. I love my X-Pro. It’s really still my dream camera. Really taking it out again reminded me why.
Today’s photography tech is incredible, fast, and high quality, Still, there’s something to be said about feeling like a “Photographer”, having that control in an engaging experience. The X-Pro, X-T line, and Leica’s help a lot of people achieve that. Great meditation man 🤝
Thanks D - the X-Pro line isn’t comparable to any other camera. The ability to go from full, powerful workhorse to a quick but intentional tool is crazy.
Damn, right on the money! I was being called an idiot on a forum when I expressed that I felt I’ve become a worse photographer as (because) cameras has gotten faster and more feature rich. It seems that the tech gets in my way. I shoot way too fast because my camera is fast. I do not take the time to look at the scene and compose at my own pace. It’s like I’m trying to keep up with my camera. That’s why my next lens will be a fully manual Voigtlander . I’m quite sure I will enjoy shooting more, and who knows, it might even help me make better images in time.
Yo! It’s insane how much I relate to you on this. I’ve have an M11 for over a year now and I couldn’t bring myself to sell the Xpro 3. I often find myself picking it up and appreciating it so much more. IMO the Xpro 3 with manual focus lenses is the rangefinder evolved. The Xpro 3 is why I fell in love with photography.
Hey man! I just sold my m10, after shooting leica M for 10 years. VLP me crazy but got a Sony a7C a few months back with the trio of small G lenses and I’m enjoying the hell out of it. Doing photos I just couldn’t do with the m. I was so tired of the manual everything. I think it’s a phase every photographer should enjoy and move on ⚡️
Absolutely man! I’ve mained my x100F for 6 years now and feel the Leica itch. I drifted into manual focus, OVF and aperture priority 2 years ago and it makes the process of photography much more rewarding. It’s busted for the first time and while I think it’s repairable I now have that Leica itch. Who knows if I’ll itch it or transform it into an xpro3 itch. Btw, I’m in Houston and I’ve shot with Lee a couple times. If you’re ever down here it would be sick to meet up 👍
When I need to take a break or have a challenge I put the Voigtländer 35mm f/1.2 on it. Lovely lens and I am happy I didnt listen to the majority of youtubers who said the Voigtländer Nokton lenses are garbage for Fujifilm. Yeah, Image is soft wide open and you get flares...so what? I stop down to f/2.8 and I'm good
im definitely in a similar boat. I have a Sony I use for the work I need to handle, but all the other stuff I use my m240 daily. I love that camera, I previously used an xpro2 with manual lenses. So that's what inspired me to buy my "dream" Leica and ive been using it ever since.... butttt I can get myself to sell the xpro2. That sensor is just too good, the film sims are just fun to use. I want to sell it to fund other lenses, I currently only have one m mount lens, but I feel like ill miss the pro 2, whenever I take it out the results are just sooooo good. lol Goodluck, on your journey, I do hope the xpro 4 is a bop.
Loved my xpro3. I rented an m10 and liked it at a lot but had the same feelings you are talking about. Thanks for putting words to it. Xpro4 might be the move!
I was actually going to get the Q3 to go along with my X-PRO3, Instead i bought the XT-5 and the new 8MM 3.5 Fuji lens. I may still get the Q3 but ONLY when they become readily available.
I can't say I miss my Xpro3, but I do miss that rangefinder experience. Switching to Nikon ZF, I feel in love in photography again. Not sure I'll buy the Xpro4 even though its very tempting. Shooting with some Voigtlaender glass for the ZF, I might just buy a Leica.
People on FB groups complaining about fuji AF or xpro4 lust. Me with renewed love for the xt2 cause of voigtlander 35mm apo. Lol AF is slow, I wouldn't know.
Everyone should learn range focus. It forces you to be better and there is absolutely no way out but through. All shots are your skill, 100%. Nothing else. In my mind, these are pursuits that make artists. Commercial work is a different thing, of course. I like that you specifically point out that you don't need gear to pursue a particular mind set. My A7Rii has a Voigtlander 21/3.5 or Pentax 28/3.5 on at all times, and the screen off at all times. Range focus around NYC every day. Don't need a Leica to shoot with a specific intention!
My X-Pro 3 is by far the closest of any camera I have had; be it digital or film. I own Leica M4, OM-1 SLR, couple of half frames, Mamiya 645, Sony, Canon compacts, and have basically used Q2, M10, SL-2, X100F, some Canon Ds, etc. Despite the f annoying X-Pro 3 ribbon cable failing on me 2 times and fixed back, it still is the closest to a perfect camera I could ever ask. Maybe X-Pro 4 will top it off but until then, YES. M lenses adapted makes it even more fun to shoot with but Fujinon lenses are already so good!
If I could select two features from my M10 to add to my X-Pro2, it would be the rangefinder manual focusing and the ability to produce high-quality 24x36mm images with my Leica M-mount lenses. If I could select two features from my X-Pro2 to add to my M10, it would be the reasonable price and the twin memory card slots.
Allsups serves up heart-stopping greasy-spoon fare. SE NM is my stomping grounds and I speak from experience. You speak about cameras "shaping" you... so if you visit Allsups long enough they'll shape you, too. Potato shape!
I don't quite understand. You need a camera with the rear screen not visible to not chimp? I just turn off the rear screen of every camera I own, which puts me in the mode to never chimp. In most cases (with most cameras) all the info you need is visible in the viewfinder or the buttons and dial on the camera. I never chimp because it is distracting and, maybe, I spent too many years shooting film.
Man, Ive always been super interested in the Xpro3 after having the X100V for almost a year now. I took tips from your video on your XH1 setup and transferred that across both my X100V and XH1 and havent looked back but, I want to start practice using range focusing. Any tips on setup for that on the X100V?
@@devincutter_yo Big Dev, switch your focus mode to manual and use that digital distance scale! More or less similar. There’s no notch on X100 cams to truly simulate the range focusing experience but it’s close enough!
