I genuinely can't thank you enough man holy shit, last sweeps I learnt were probably Vengeance and follow the signs and those took me SO many hit and trials and doing the wrong shapes and self correcting that I was horrified to even approach XIV and Behold. I would've never expected anyone to ever post this omg THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Justin, please show me the movements of your right hand when playing these arpeggios. It is difficult without it. Although the video is super) You made a great video about arpeggios jason becker-altitudes)
One thing that you didn't cover is Jasons actual technique for sweeping. He almost never bars or uses the same finger in succession going from string to string. Its wacky, but once you start doing it you hear the difference in how clean it can be with his technique.
Because I refuse to teach this 😂😂 the roll technique is sooo important in so many guitar scenarios, and with some practice you can get it as clean as Jason’s technique without the limitations ☺️
I disagree, Its not nearly as articulate as it could be. You can hear the difference quite obviously. Its like legato vs picking every note. Theres a clear difference in tone and timbre.@@justin.hombach
@@deylanengel7251 brother, the notes are the same and the dynamics are the same, it's the tone lmaooo, how tf can you compare that to 'legato vs picking note'??? If you want to waste your time to play faster at cost of not playing rolls, go ahead to waste hundred hours of practice, no one is stopping you 'wannabe richardson'
Amazing man🤘🏼, question, how much does low action affect your sweeping ability? I have a pretty high action on my les paul and i feel when i play a low action guitar like an ibanez or jackson i play a bit better. Thanks in advance
Yes. the resistance is a lot lower on a low action guitar. Tho I have a practise guitar with a high action just to develope the right string on my left hand :)
@@justin.hombach I tried lowering the action on the higher frets. I got string buzz. So I increased it till there was no buzz. Then I was back to square one.
@@justin.hombach Yeah it was weird, I was watching it and playing in D tuning (online i found that it was played with 7 string with all strings tuned down 1 step aka ADGCFAD) so it sounded weird when listening

@@umu5037 If you think this sounds as articulate as him playing it, youre cooked my guy.
Nice tutorial! Jason plays some parts differently (at least live) but no biggie!

Yanthungbemo Ezong get a truss rod adjustment maybe
10:45 more like E locrian scale :))
We have the notes E F# G A B C D E so it's e natural minor
The finger shape sometimes is called "locrian mode" but this is just a name for the finger shape. The root note is still E so it's in E minor
What is the tuning of the song
Ah I forgott to mention that the original tuning is drop c but in this lesson I'm in standart

veikkomies yea jason recorded it in A standard on a 7 string
Holy fuck dude
