Radiohead is one of the most revered bands in the world. They have had the same 5 guys in the group since they started in college in the 80’s. “No Surprises” is a gem off their 3rd album “OK Computer” and the album won a grammy for best alternative album of the year. Another great track off that album is “Paranoid Android”. Other great Radiohead songs are: Karma Police; Nice Dream; Fake Plastic Trees; The Bends; Airbag; Street Spirit(Fad e Out); Let Down; My Iron Lung; and many more. One of the most creative groups you will ever find. PS- their lead guitar player, Jonny Greenwood has written the musical score for around 10 movies, including There Will Be Blood; Spencer. Their lead singer and lyricist is Thom York.

You guys should do “Fake Plastic Trees” by them next. It’s both my favorite song lyrically and melody-wise. Its theme has been described as the “difficulty of forging an authentic human connection in a world of artifice,” which is a tough nut to crack in the span of five minutes, but I think they pull it off.
I feel his struggle to stay true to one’s self and one’s goals, when the whole world seems built around putting up a front and never showing anyone what you the real you is like.

I maintain this album is quite simply the greatest album of all time and it's a hill I will die on.
Lyrically Radiohead are often deep and dark, and yes, depressing but MUSICALLY the soundscapes they create are just beautiful and soaring into ecstasy. I adore them.
    Necessities of theirs are:
    Fake Plastic Trees
    The Bends
    Paranoid Android
There are so many more but these are a perfect way to continue your journey through their incredible catalogue. Creep was an absolute anomaly for them, nothing else they do is as direct and simple as that, in fact the band really don't like the song at all.

agreed. this album, once it clicked, blew me away, and it's still one of my all-time favorite albums. this is such a weird choice to react to only because it's the final song of the whole thing, and really just caps the entire ride of the album.

You all have reacted to another Radiohead song..Street Spirit, it’s on your patreon page. Paranoid Android should be next followed by Karma Police, but they have a lot of great tracks. As others have said, OK Computer is one of the great all time albums

OK Computer is an album that is incredibly near and dear to my heart.
Oh, man. It was on repeat on my Discman (yes, a Discman, it was during the 90's 😅), and I loved every track with every note played.
Edit: Check out Exit Music from the same album.

Funny you describe it as a lullaby. The 'jingle' is used as a lullaby to sing Baby David to sleep by his parents in the hilarous sitcom The Royle Family.

Thom Yorke is absolutely one of my favorite singers of all time(as is the whole band). There's not a single song where he doesn't just slay on vocals, even in the quiter ones like this song. I recommend one of their more rocking songs next time, like "There, There", "The Bends", or "Black Star" are the first three that come to mind.

At last another Radiohead! For me,the best band in history along with The Beatles, for consistency of creativity and sound. Also they do some amazing clips. The song, for me, is about the bananlity of desirng a life that contains no alarms and no surprises, yet in such a life you are slowly drowning and don't even know it.

OK Computer is the soundtrack to my late teenage years - such an epic album that's worth a listen start to finish - much like any Pink Floyd album!! I must suggest WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE'S ROMEO + JULIET from 1996 starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes! It's a quirky, modern take on the classic tragedy and the soundtrack is AMAZING!! Radiohead is featured on it and the song "End Credits (For A Film)" on OK Comp is the "uncredited" song playing during the end credits of WSR+J. I hope you add these to your list to view some day - best wishes and keep smiling!

NOBODY does depressed and beautiful like RADIOHEAD. "Beautifully deep" is spot on, Jay. "Lullaby" is a perfect description of this music, Amber. That's why I watch this channel. You both pay attention and your thoughts are always incisive. RADIOHEAD are an absolutely BRILLIANT band. They created what many people consider one of the greatest albums in rock history ("OK Computer"... which this song is off of)... and instead of repeating the same formula that got them all that praise, they did a complete left turn on their next release and created an equally stunning "KID A" album that sounded almost nothing like its predecessor. Where to go from here? I'd suggest "KARMA POLICE," "EVERYTHING IN ITS RIGHT PLACE," "BURN THE WITCH," or "PARANOID ANDROID." They have so many brilliant songs that you can't go wrong... the ONLY thing you can expect is quality. Cheers!
