Dave Lombardo bad-mouthing Kerry King

- Every time I watch recent videos of King and Lombardo giving interviews like they are this great friends, I remember this old video from german tv. It took some time for me to find it, but I finally did.
lombardo and hanneman make slayer for me. with both of them gone its just no the same.
Dude, i cant agree with you more!
My dad saw em with Hanneman and Lambardo in the 1990s and we went to go see them in 2019 and i asked him after we went witch show he thought was better and he said the one with lambardovand hanneman
Well it started as them. I whole heartedly agree. And sometimes I just like to know where the f Kerry King comes off off with some of his diarrhea of the mouth.
AMEN!
Yup
eine coffee bitte! haha geil! dave lombardo is so cool
Quite true, I absolutely agree: no Jeff, no biggest hits in Slayer...thus no Slayer.
though Dave Lombardo is probably The biggest influence on the drummers of extreme metal genres in general...
probably one couldn't say the same either for Jeff (or Kerry) as far as guitar...
As I've said before,,,, Dave's relationship with Slayer is a revolving door. He is an amazing drummer, but,,, if it wasn't for Slayer,,,,Dave Lombardo would probably be a nobody. And for him to go on record and talk shit about Kerry is a disrespectful act of a coward! KK is a guitar god and anyone talking shit is nothing more than "sour grapes"! Slayer Fan 4 life ! R.I.P. Jeff.
Paul Bostaph could not play the bass to Angel of Death at first, he had a week to learn about 10 songs, and the only part he fucked up was the bass fill on Angel of Death. Dave can't play the majority of Bostaphs work, he butchers Disciple, Stain of Mind, Payback and he might aswell not even play Dittohead he leaves so many fills out. Any drummer will tell you Bostaph is superior in every respect, unless they're Dave fanboys. Bostaph is a Godly drummer.
Fuck Paul
Watch Slayer Big 4 show in Sofia
Then watch they're final show
No comparison. Dave is a fucking monster
You my friend are delirious haha Dave is the number one thrash drummer of all time period.
sounds bitter. easily replaceable. where's Dave?
The Comedy Central roast of Kerry King
Hosted by roast master Dave Lombardo.
Who else would pay money to see that?
***** Holy shit I would pay to see that
NTorres321 Really. We should get Comedy Central to roast him next
Kerry King is too arrogant egocentric and self absorbed to agree.
Glad Dave had a bash at Kerry! Kerry deserves it! Dave and Jeff were the key ingredients of Slayer!
When Lars was ill who did he call to fill in? Dave fucking Lombardo that's who!!
And Joey Jordison.
With Hanneman now gone its hard to like Slayer as much as did. With Lombardo gone its impossible.
Dave is a better person and musician than Kerry from here to Havana round trip
personally I thought Jeff and Dave were the best members of the band. i don't even recognize them as slayer anymore, just KK and Tom milking the name.
Exactly, not only the newer songs are forgettable, but also played with less "feel".
No I like Slayer, I just dont like Kerry King.
As a drummer myself I love Dave hes a down to business guy plays his ass off and Ive never seen him all fucked up ever
jeff wrote the great shit anyway!!!
So true; all of my favorite Slayer songs were written by Jeff. Plus, even though Jeff's solos aren't anything that great in a "technical" way - his solos have some serious intensity whereas Kerry's solos are pretty awful. I don't know if I would even call them "solos" - mostly just wacky noises created by heavy abuse of the Floyd Rose style tremolo.
Well, he's clearly a lot smarter than Kerry King.
Um, Paul and Dave are two different drummers. Paul played with brutality, and Dave played with aggressive feel. Listen to the fills on Ghosts of War, Hallowed Point and the coup de grace, the live version of Chemical Warfare. As a drummer myself (and I can prove it if asked) Dave can play the songs slayer did with Paul to the T if he wanted to, but plays them with his own added style to it. Paul is awesome, and when I first heard Divine Intervention, I had a hard on, but Dave>Paul IMO. :)
yeah its was very hard to find such a great drummer, but remmember that when they hooked up dave was still doing pizza deliveries and drumming for him was just a hobby. he did an amazing job learning so fast and so good without a teacher , and so did jeff. just look at how many "insane" drummers these days have well know teachers and yet they havent done anything memorable..xd
Jeff's always gotten along with everyone (at least publicly). I've never seen him go out of his way to talk smack about any other musician but I'm sure he has his fair share of people that he generally hates.
Kerry even says during an interview that him and Jeff weren't really friends it's just business. so he says.
@@jansandman6983 Well, every band at a certain level is run like a business.
As they should, being in a band at that level isn't a hobby anymore. That's how they make a living.
@@Henry0870 I think it depends on the people within the band. Example: Metallica: It is obvious that Kirk, James, and Lars treat each other more than just business partners but have maintained their friendship as well. hence might be the reason for the longevity of their band's success more than other bands could ever wish for.
....way to go Dave!....KK swallow that!
Whats funny is Lars doesn't even look like Ross Halfin that much
Kerry King is ALWAYS talking shit about someone. He did it to Lombardo when he got kicked out and he did it to Bostaph when he left. He's got a huge mouth when it comes to that but he usually makes nice with them eventually.
Absolutely agree, their impact is huuuuge, no need to be great guitarists, but really in the style they're playing, they're probably The Best anyways.
Though still the fact that drummers like Dave were hard to find back then, hence I think he's had a bigger impact on the scene than them...
he was virtually alone playing the way he had, fast & brutal like no other at the time.
Glad to hear Jeff was the reason you'd picked up a guitar, he's my fave guy in Slayer as well, best songs he'd wrote...
this is awsome daves had a few and sayin what he feels
The music in the background is from the 1978 movie.... Dawn of the Dead.... Classic.... Lombardo rules!\m/
Maybe he'll live long enough to write a decent riff!
Dude, this was SO long ago...back in the '90s...Lombardo was invited back and spent almost a decade with the band after this.
no it wasnt you tard, fantomas wasnt formed in the 90's
@@1ocellus 1998 buddy
Then left and said very plainly that he was getting screwed completely and was getting treated like shit by Tom and Kerry.
There is also a live version of Payback where Dave does double bass at the end of Payback where the chorus repeats itself. Listen to that, and type to me with a straight face that headbanging isn't required. \m/
I always thought lars ulrich looked like roger taylor from queen
Love his attempts at speaking German lol.. 😅 😂
Why was Dave making fun of Kerry ? And his German skills are awesome hahahaha 😂
Kerry's mellowed out quite a bit over the last 10 years or so, but he's still a weird guy...he seems to be completely devoid of emotion or human warmth.
Now, I know you're thinking, "No shit...he's in SLAYER"...but c'mon. He takes his persona way too far.
Look at Tom Araya...still a heavy metal badass, but he's a very thoughtful, warm guy. I just wish Kerry would drop his tough guy shtick.
Kerry is 5 feet 5 inches. Give the guy some slack... He needs it!
On the Big Four tour, they decided to play Am I Evil instead of some other song that they had previously chosen to all perform together. Kerry King refused to go up there and play Am I Evil with everyone.
Wow, tough guy won't play a song.
Yea I seen that in another with Dave, he said that Kerry was still booking a lot of their tours at the time and the same day he and his wife found out they were having a child he told Kerry about it and that he was he good to tour all the way up to September the month the baby was due. Said he didnt hear anything until late August, Kerry called up and said Dave we got some big shows show next month you gotta be there!! Thats really fucked up on many levels!!
Kerry is a nice guy with a bit of ego problem.
I'm allmost finished second time of reading Slayer book.
And there was written this situation many pages.
For those who do not know that Dave has left the band two times.
Third time was temporal at the beginning, but things did go well and the rest is history.
I could tell more of the book but my english is too bad for that.
For this text i had to use dictionary to get some words right.. :)
All members have something that Slayer needs to work.
Lombardo got a forensic accountant ready to look at the bands' profits and Sony paid off Araya [$120,000] who then closed down Slayer. While Lombardo was still a founding member, King left and temporarily joined Megadeth.
Who is King to pull rank on anyone?
Everyone knows King is the Lars of Slayer. lucky to be in the right place at the right time with the other 3. And also turned into a duche so theres that
He didn't turn into he always was
What romantic background music for such a heavy topic.
A guy named Paul Bostaph took over in about 93-94, and play drums on Slayer's 'Divine Intervention' album. Paul is a kick-ass drummer on this album, and now he plays drums for Testament.
Paul Bostaph has the power to play but Dave Lombardo has some soul in his playing that is instantly recognizable.
Hahahaha ten years later no more slayer and Dave Lombardo plays drums in testament funny turn of rvents
Paul already toured in 1992 with Slayer
😂@@fredlivingston3766
KK is one of the most one dimensional guitarist ever. That band in general too.
Yeah man, my best friend met him, too, and said the exact same thing.
The music reminds me of "Cinemax After Dark" from back in the day.
Lombardo as a drummer completed Slayer's reign as the supreme thrash band of the 80's. And there was a time when Lombardo left the band for a while wasn't as good. During the 90s, Slayer wasn't as good as other bands sorry to say.
+UnREALISTIC PICTURES True, after Season in the abyss I stopped listening Slayer because it didn't feel the same. After divine intervention the band change
With the music in the background I cannot help but die laughing from this interview.
There is no Slayer without Tom's voice.
Dave. It's March 23rd. 2015 and I bet you're begging for this video it never existed
I don't think he gives a shit now lol
Tom araya said Dave said way worse shit to them right to their face. It sounds like Dave was always the outsider of the group, which is stupid.
Mike Patton on the right? Instigating? hahaha Love Mike.
thats what I think...but xxxpallisterxxx has a hard on for Bostaph and is a gay paul fanboy!!
Dave like a crackhead here 😂 but Still my favorite drummer
Kerry's the last person that should be talking shit about anyone
People wouldn't talk shit about Kerry if he wasn't an asshole.
I have always thought Jeff was better.
perfect background music for a slayer interview.
Kerry’s Solos are intolerable. 😩
2 years later he rejoined Slayer lmao
You are correct on Dittohead, he doesn't really capture the work from Divine that well. Payback and Stain Of Mind is however not played wrong at all, Payback is thrashy and straight-forward and Stain is pretty simple acually. Dave does Disciple in his own way, though I like Bostaph's version better. But Dave plays the old stuff from 83-90 in a whole new ways that sounds fantasic, and I also like new stuff. In the end, I think of Bostaph and Lombardo as equals.
Kerry King would cry about fat shaming if Dave said that now
In contrary of metals biggest Schwein,
These guys (Fantomas that is) have good taste and sense of humor, something which is not very common in the metal scene. Watch the lines from Buzz even better...
Dave does like his coffee. I can only drink it in the a.m., not an evening drink for me.
One of the comments stated Jeff wrote the music and Querry King wrote the lyrics, basically that's untrue, we all know Jeff wrote "Angel" Tom wrote "South Of Heaven" (the song) etc etc and here is a little SLAYER trivia-Does anyone know who drew the famous SLAYER pentagram/sword logo?
Bob Ross
Just add a little happy pentagram.
Yeah, it took him some time to realize he was looking like a dick by keeping his guard up when he didn't need to. His dad, by all accounts was a great guy along with his family. According to Jeff, Kerry had a "bunch" of guitars when Jeff first went to Kerry's house to jam. I've seen a few photos of GnR, Metallica, Anthrax and Kerry and you can see just how much younger in ... attitude? he was compared to guys like Hetfield, Slash even in that one photo. I like Kerry but he needs to chill out.
lombardo is a great drummer and will be wierd seeing them without him, but bostaph is a tank also. Kerry is still cool nomatter what anyone says. he is pretty damn good. not as good as hannamen though.
Eine kleine coffee LOL
I think Lombardo is one of the best drummers in the biz. It's too bad he has to endure the political nonsense.
When Jeff died i read on the comment section of a Yt Video of Slayer....IT S DEAD THE WRONG GUITARIST.....
@mcfarlanehunter True, I read his interview and he said he approached the band with a knife actually hidden, if you can believe this, because he wasn't sure of how the band would react. He said they were cool about it, which surprised him. After he quit, he told Modern Drummer magazine he made just as much money as a security guard, but, thankfully he's back. Kerry just has a certain attitude, some people are like that, and won't change. I see them doing interviews together now
It's a bunch of bullshit. He loved being in Slayer. He was famous in Slayer. Nobody knows his side projects. And that is all they will ever be, and he knows it.
He left because of money the first time and the second time. Dave didn't write Slayer songs and he's worth $12 million. Only a couple less than Jeff and Kerry, who wrote the songs.
He was bad mouthing Slayer and you could tell he would have killed to get back in the band. Which he did. It sounded fake.
Lots of trash talking among metal bands. Guess its just the attitude that goes along with the style - everyone want to be a badass. One of the things I always disliked about playing with others. Someone's always trash talking. I don't care for attitude. I just like to play and enjoy life.
and now Dave is back with Kerry in Slayer :-)
I guess there is no need to love each other to play the music.
Fantomas was interesting gig but I never was a big fan. I really love the other Dave's band - Grip Inc.
Hah, you're acting like you know him. How the hell does he seem to be "completely devoid of emotion or human warmth"? What the fuck, have you ever seen any interviews of him?
LOOK WHOS TALKING....ALL I SAIS WAS FANBOY AND U MENTIONED A BUCH OD BOSTAPHS QUALITIES..THEREFORE CONFIRMONG U ARE A FANBOY...PROBABLY A GAY ONE AT THAT
Even TOM new it was over NO Jeff NO Dave they were the slayer sound and of course TOM !!!!! Kerry been Eisha washy from the beginning tried jumping on the
Mega death train the beastie boy tracks wasn’t into slayer at first till everyone said dude wtf why you trying leave slayer. Even at rehearsal he don’t play with TOM GARY and PAUL. Even JEFF shut him out after tours were over . We all
Work for
Money I get it but Kerry greed pushed Dave out and woke up Tom .
Anything Lombard's a part of sounds a hell of a lot better than if he wasn't.. I was listening to a Testament Cd the year it was released. Got on a Jet and was going to Mardi Gras. I really liked that cd a lot! It went into regular play for years. A few years after playing it I was looking at the cd cover and noticed... Lombardo was on drums!! I thought.. No wonder..
Lars Ulrich looks nothing like Halfin other than they're both short balding white dudes.
I think when he meant "fatter", they were talking about Crowbar.
Can someone translate what he says in German?
Also what’s up with Dave’s eyes here? They’re purple as fuck
never bad talk other musicians kids,..... EVER. especially on camera. I love Dave but this wasnt smart.
Maybe he's like ben stillers dad on along came polly, a man of few words. I doubt he's dumb though.
@AGNTthrasher Dave LEFT the band do to differences with the band... he wasn't kicked out buddy
The only things I hate about Kerry are his (right arm) tribal tatts. They suck really bad.
Tom Araya, mate, fucking Tom "Still Scares The Shit Outta Me Even After 25 Years" Araya. :)
Great interview with musikk from a porn movie 🥖🥖🤣🤣
na man its not the bands that book the tour its the managers and the venues
Paul Bostoph kicks his ass!!!!!!!Shouldnt have got rid of him......
Is that Mike Patton?
Dave speaks Deutsch????? Wtf!!
KING IS A TARD ,
Who the fuck is Dave Lambardo or Lombardo. Whatever
I'm glad Dave and Kerry are settled now.
Lol
@@youreokayboah2128 LOLLLLL this was before what went down
Lombardo and Hanemann were slayer.
Dave Lombardo is the phenomenon of thrash sound!!!
He is THE thrash drummer, it's his simple straight-forward style that became archetypeal & synonymous for thrash & most influencial for all the other extreme metal genres as well.
Who needs a technical drummer for thrash & Slayer???
So, he is THE most important member of Slayer, even if fans today don't realize it (anymore).
Best drummer of the Big 4 & best thrash drummer in history.
(can't say any other guy in Slayer is No.1.)
thats absolutely true
Haselnüsse. Hazelnuts. Capice?
Kerry Queen!! say no more!!
Like Kerry's never done it.
He actually left Testament a few months ago =/ They have Gene Hoglan filling in for their new album/tour with Chris Adler doing a few songs.
Larry King is more approachable.
SMOOTH JAZZ FUCK YEAH! \m/ \m/
@Jerlombardo29 Actually in Modern Drummer magazine he said he left because of band member friction , probably from Kerry, but Kerry is outspoken and often comments on other people's ability, like Mustaine. Come on, it's Slayer, they have to have Undisisputed Attitude! lol My guitar friend met Dave and said he was really cool to him, and every clip I see of Dave shows he's an extremely nice guy. He does drum clinics, I don't see other Slayer members doing clinics. but Slayer rules
I agree, the problem is that Kerry has the most of what Slayer needs to NOT work...
talking all this shit and then got back together with them hahaaa oh and then subsequently kicked out.....im a drummer and used to have love for lombardo, ive realized that the most important piece to the slayer puzzle is hanneman...evidenced by the album divine intervention. sorry lombardo. you WERE the man
@AGNTthrasher He even bashed Bostaph? Wow, I thought he was like Slayer's favorite backup drummer. Kerry speaks his mind, I'll give him that, it's up to yourself if you agree with what he's saying. I don't think he worries a lot what the fans say. Araya has always seemed to get along with Dave. How about Jeff?
