Brilliant! funny at the time I wasn't digging the cave so much either but it really is unique, especially now that a few weeks have passed. Never seen anything like it so it makes a great story. The photo of Chephren was nice as well.
I'm with you Adam, I like the intimate shots, the details of location, that go with the grand vistas. They really help tell the story. Also, to all of you, I love the work you guys have all done together on this trip. It's been a lot of fun going back and forth between channels. I caught Nicks pod cast and that was great as well, but one thing I don't think was covered in any of this was what, if anything, you guys took away from the trip in terms of learning directly from each other? I think that would be a great follow up podcast or group video. Cheers!
''throw an image up"? Dude that ice cave shot was killer! Totally worth the misery and suffering. Not sure how you managed to not have a full Fototantrum when it was -26 though. I was loosing my mind with my pathetimule Sony batteries.
Yeah came to say similar thing, you must be happy @adamgibbs that Tom took the Mr grumpy title from you right at the end of a trip so it doesn’t stick forever haha
Sometimes when I’m down I watch your videos to just get away. You may not realize it but your content helps in so many ways. It’s almost like therapy at times. Thank you.
I've moved a long way away from using artificial light in my photos, but oh boy that last shot of yours there was really out of this world! I hope it's one you like yourself :)
Thomas this is when you are at your best doing what you love most and taking us all along for the ride. Beautiful photos and I’m glad you got out safe. You got your mojo back, you’re not a gear head, you are a photographer and we are all glad for that.
Thomas's narratives evoke powerful sense of self ego stroking, like I can't shake the feeling that Thomas furiously and rubs one out *with intense focus* while reviewing playback of his own videos. Love the channel keep it up.
That has got to be one the most magical shoots I've seen you do. The first mountain shot I didn't appreciate until you showed your image. The Ice Cave... Holy cow, I audibly gasped at the video and image you captured. One of my favorite videos and images that you have produced. Bravo!
I think that after days of fun in the cold you were getting worn down a bit. In the end that shot in the cave (no doubt one of many made) was truly the icing on the cake, no pun intended. Brilliant work and so much fun to have been able to follow the four of you on this trip.
You at 5.45 is why I LOVE this channel. Your positive attitude, even in those -29 conditions, struggling to walk and vlog at the same time, while you slowly freeze to death is a true inspiration. And that last image - absolutely gorgeous ! 👍
It was great to see you enjoy locations that are close to us here in the Rocky Mountains. Most of the areas you explored I have been to and it was fun to hear how excited you were to see them.
I have to say I have looked at many snowy mountain photos but that mountain shot a the 3:45 min mark actually gave me the shivers (Not from the cold ). Beautiful and majestic image.
It’s landscape photographers like you that inspire us! It’s sad that that there will be folks who will undervalue the work that goes into a shot. But it’s photographers like you who make videos like these that help change that perception everyday!👍🏾
This ice cave scene is many-folds more stunning than what I expected looking at your expressions in the cave regarding the image. One of my favourites from your Canada trip.
What a great set of videos from all four of you. I’ve enjoyed watching all of the videos on each of your channels. It’s like a superhero cross pollination on the CW network!
I had not seen this episode from the past even though I was subscribed at the time. What brought me back here to this time was reading your book. The story to this video/shot was interesting and I needed more. I will say though, the last shot in the cave was definitely worth the trip.
Stunning shots from the cave, and the mountain at the start was awesome as well. What I like is that even tho the trip does not allways produce images you like, or feel is your "domain" in taking pictures, is that you let us join in on the trip either way ;) And thats a good thing to show, that things not allways go as one might think but appreciate the journey anyway. Keep it up ;)
I’m not sure how you feel about this series from Canada given where you were at around Christmas but i love them! I’ve so enjoyed watching your trip and the time spent with the other photographers. Probably the best series of videos you’ve made in my view. Love it.
WoW Tom! An amazing video. So much respect for taking your vlogging camera around with you in those conditions! I know the feeling of not seeing a photo at those big grand vista scenes, I quite often feel the same. I'm surprised you weren't more excited about the cave though? You admitted it's not something you would normally shoot, but isn't that a good thing? Being a landscape photographer, we don't often get to see and shoot such unique subjects like that and the photo you threw up was fantastic! Wow that looked good!
Always a pleasure to watch your videos.... and on this occasion bringing back memories of when I used to do crazy stuff like that... a sunrise at Stonehenge 15+ years ago at -16, climbing up to nearly 3000 meters in the Dolomite’s and sleeping in the snow ( without a tent) 20 odd years ago.... it was the analog era, and I was using a Pentax MX, completely mechanical, no batteries issues, an old analog light meter and then guesstimate the exposure compensation due to subzero temperatures....the good old days of the Kodachrome 25... This morning in London was -5... fat chance that I am going out by the way... too old for that ... Keep up the excellent work...
Thomas, as always, you took some incredible photos. It's nice to be reminded that sometimes you need to put in hard work to find a location as gorgeous and unique as the ice cave. Love your videos, photos and attitude towards photography. Please keep up the great work. You are inspiring!
Well done, beautiful pics! You have learned to complain about the cold and also express how awesome it is almost at the same time. You sir are an honorary Canadian! There will be a ceremony on your next visit.
Beautiful landscapes, loved the sound of the creaking snow. Loved the close up in the cave - although obviously not a landscape. Seems like it was all fun to be outside.
That ice cave picture is incredible! It's one of those images that make me stare, because without the backstory I'm not sure I could wrap my mind around what exactly I was looking at (in a good way).
Seeing the different take that the 4 of you have had on the same locations and subjects has been very interesting and educational. Not to mention entertaining.
Thanks, Tom! I agree with fototripper-the ice cave images are pretty cool (heh, heh) Getting ready to celebrate one year since the fantastic workshop in the Lake District. Cheers, Bob.
Love the centered composition of that big snowy peak. And that ice cave shot! Well done! It's been below zero (F) here, too (Maine). Hard to get out there with the gear, but so worth it!
I gotta say Thomas, this is for sure one of my favourite images from your rockies trip, It is unlike any other ice cave image I have ever seen. Well Done!
Can only imagine how hard it was to get around and vlog in those conditions. Great video and respect for protecting the location. I’m looking forward to getting out in the Scottish snow but am glad it’s not -25! ❄️
Well, Thomas, chalk this up as a trip with not just great photos, but memories that will last a life time. I've been to this area in the autumn and also beautiful then but the snow and ice of winter add a whole new dimension. Thanks to you, Gavin, Nick and Adam for sharing your photos and videos with the rest of us. Yep. We are jealous. Jim
Those are two stunning images! I'm glad you did a wide shot of the mountain. I prefer it to the more vertical crop of the other one. The ice cave is amazing. The arch across the top of the image reminds me of the Milky Way.
Fair play, Tom, that last image was amazing. I’ve really enjoyed the videos you all put out with regards to this trip and hope you can all get together again at another location and share the fun.
Thomas, the ice cave was a fantastic change. BTW, the image turned out to be a good one. You are enjoying this trip after a very long time. Make the best of what you have! - Ameth
Hi Thomas, it's been fab to watch your Canada vlogs, breathtaking scenery, wow! I was struggling with -1c this morning on my walk to work and i was on flat terrain, you wasn't!! It did look blumin hard work trekking through the snow but the reward with those images you captured was sheer beauty! I loved the morning glow & majestic mountain shot! And then that river with those snow boulders looked incredible! And probably the same as you, those ice caves may have not have excited me too much either but wow that image at the end is just amazing!
Ice cave image was awesome, you definitely worked hard to get to the location. Hiking in snow is like 3 steps to 1 step in comparison to a normal hike and throw in cold on top of it. Passion is all I got as to why...... thanks for sharing.
I believe this image (the cave image) is one of your most unique photographs since you don't have anything like it (not that I've seen) and it is definitely a beautiful abstract composition. It probably is a good thing to have this in your prints for sales as a limited edition because if not many people have been there the chances are that no one got the same picture as yours and probably will never do. Great video :)
Loved the ice cave image, your time with the others proved to be well worth the effort on all fronts, the whole trip has produced some wonderful images from all the participants.
Amazing photo of the mountain. Cool photo in the cave. After which your options are to spend the night in the cave or take the death-defying hike back to the car in the dark. Glad you survived.
Nice pictures of the cave, this week were under the Polar vortex so -25 is warm lol Thanks for sharing, as always I enjoy watching your videos. Regards from Ontario Canada :)
Both those images were superb! They seem to have gotten better with each episode. Extra props for shooting in extreme cold, I usually shoot landscapes in the south of France and now live in Montreal - hell of a difference.
Loved the first image and the convergence of the leading lines taking the up to that spectacular mountain. Ice cave image was beautiful too and hope the Canada trip was the boost you needed
Learned the following 55 or so years ago- stalactites...”c” for ceiling (from which they hang), and stalagmites...”g” for ground (from which they grow.
This is one of your best videos man! My previous comment criticising the discussion of gear is basically redundant by videos like this. Amazing, well done!
Brilliant! funny at the time I wasn't digging the cave so much either but it really is unique, especially now that a few weeks have passed. Never seen anything like it so it makes a great story. The photo of Chephren was nice as well.

Oh, the drama, the drama! haha
Yep, that's what I came here to say. But Fototripper beat me to it. You have a future in ice cave photography Thom!
Told'ja @thomasheaton
Yeah came to say similar thing, you must be happy @adamgibbs that Tom took the Mr grumpy title from you right at the end of a trip so it doesn’t stick forever haha

Love the channel keep it up.
Oh man, the sound of the snow as you step on it - great indicator of how cold it was. Brrr! Brings back many memories.
That has got to be one the most magical shoots I've seen you do. The first mountain shot I didn't appreciate until you showed your image. The Ice Cave... Holy cow, I audibly gasped at the video and image you captured. One of my favorite videos and images that you have produced. Bravo!
Truly a wonderful shot to finish on! Being outside your normal comfort zone is good for the soul.
Amazing Thomas. you guys are just amazing. thank you for your hard work and sharing that beauty with the rest of us.
snow makes a unique crunching sound when it's that cold
I think that after days of fun in the cold you were getting worn down a bit. In the end that shot in the cave (no doubt one of many made) was truly the icing on the cake, no pun intended. Brilliant work and so much fun to have been able to follow the four of you on this trip.

The things you go through just to show us a film, well done Tom and many thanks.

Another great video and a great series on Canada. Enjoyed all the videos and the images. Many thanks for your efforts and sharing your work.

Fantastic image from inside the ice cave, well done. Thanks to you and the others for sharing this. Nice edit of the video as always.
The ice cave shot is totally stunning and out of this world. Thank you for keeping the cave location discreet.
Loved this video! This is exactly the kind of wonderful, soothing, nice content I want from my favourite RUclipsr!
Thanks again Tom for another beautiful video, just inspirational...
Till the next time...
Perseverance for the sake of the craft! I know the feeling but I really admire you being out for hours in that cold a weather.
I had not seen this episode from the past even though I was subscribed at the time. What brought me back here to this time was reading your book. The story to this video/shot was interesting and I needed more. I will say though, the last shot in the cave was definitely worth the trip.
-25!! And to think I complained about -2 this morning!! I’ve really enjoyed this Canada series! It’s been great seeing 4 different perspectives!
-2 is the worst! Winter doesn't settle down till it gets to around -10C then its drier, safer, and paradoxically, much more comfortable!
Douglas Ingram well in that case I’ll continue to complain 😏
Stunning shots from the cave, and the mountain at the start was awesome as well. I am amazed the shutter and aperture and camera itself worked in such an extreme cold -kind of amazing.
excellent vlog as usual, its been a blast watching these vlogs with all those guys with you.
I’m not sure how you feel about this series from Canada given where you were at around Christmas but i love them! I’ve so enjoyed watching your trip and the time spent with the other photographers. Probably the best series of videos you’ve made in my view. Love it.
Oh yes, that ice cave shot is really fantastic! Great video Thomas.
That mountain is beautiful, you captured that perfectly . That cave, keep it a hidden treasure. The image from there, wow.
Fantastic images Thomas! They are easily my favourites from your trip to Canada. The second image is majestic!
Stunning as usual. And the ice cave was definitely worth it !!
It is so fun to watch this group having so much fun and creating such epic photography! Look forward to a reunion in the future, hopefully.

Exciting trek, gorgy worgy views, once in a lifetime experience, thanks for taking the time to share Thomas

How can you not like that cave image

That ice cave shot is a keeper, IMO. Different than your usual work, but definitely not an ordinary image that everyone can get. That's good I think.
Thanks, Tom! I agree with fototripper-the ice cave images are pretty cool (heh, heh) Getting ready to celebrate one year since the fantastic workshop in the Lake District. Cheers, Bob.

You are enjoying this trip after a very long time. Make the best of what you have!

That last shot is a seller!!! Killer shot Tom.. Good job!!!
Tom, that cave was magnificent!
Thanks for sharing that image!

That final image! Wowzers!
Loved this series Thomas! Ice Cave shot is stunning!
I felt cold just watching the video. The cave shot is fantastic Thomas.
Thomas, mate, that's one of the best images I think you have ever released!
Your Canadian adventures and images have been wonderful. Great stuff.
Squeaky snow. Love it.
Nice pictures of the cave, this week were under the Polar vortex so -25 is warm lol Thanks for sharing, as always I enjoy watching your videos. Regards from Ontario Canada :)
Absolutely loved the cave-and-stalagmite image. You gotta be proud of that!
Absolutely love the cave image .Positively sublime.
Thomas, that was an amazing image. Great job, and great adventure
That cave was EPIC! So glad you came around to it Tom!
Both those images were superb! They seem to have gotten better with each episode. Extra props for shooting in extreme cold, I usually shoot landscapes in the south of France and now live in Montreal - hell of a difference.
Such gorgeous pictures omg i love them
Stunning good video. I love the Canadian rockies, I was there two years ago and toured from Banf to Jasper, loved it.
Loved the first image and the convergence of the leading lines taking the up to that spectacular mountain. Ice cave image was beautiful too and hope the Canada trip was the boost you needed
Wow, incredible image! I think this could be a new genre for you Thomas.
Learned the following 55 or so years ago- stalactites...”c” for ceiling (from which they hang), and stalagmites...”g” for ground (from which they grow.
Wow! Amazing these stalactites and stalagmites formations😍
Id have an an absolute field day in that AMAZING CAVE !!!
Love your view point of waterfowl lake !
Cracking photo Thomas...not something you would usually get to shoot, so worth the hike I'd say!
Love the final image. Nature is always amazing, be that as a landscape or in this case....a Cavescape!
I very much enjoyed the video, and thought both of those images were equally as awesome in their own ways. Great work!
You gotta admit Tom, even if you were'nt 'feeling it', it's a pretty cool (no pun) place to see and shoot with your mates, nice one.
You completely under estimated the cave shot, we all love it.
This is one of your best videos man! My previous comment criticising the discussion of gear is basically redundant by videos like this. Amazing, well done!
Fantastic journey!!! And some great shots :)
Having spent some time with each of you on the Out Of Chicago trips, I'm loving these videos from all of you. Well done.
That last shot was so alien, I love it!
I just watched this using the QR code at the back of your new book. So cool to see the adventure behind the image. JoAnne
Loved that last Image, it was different and beautiful.
I have loved this video it is great job. wonderful images! 👈👍Thank! sir.
Glad you made the hike, love the shot!
Man, that ice cave... The shot was awesome, the place was too. I think I need to go to Canada!
