    Actually, it's about 4000+ Cambodian Riel to the USD. You might want to correct that on your video. The rate according to Google right now is 1 USD = 4052 Cambodian Riel.

    I am a Cambodian local. US dollar is the preferred currency. Cambodian riel is used mainly as change in lieu of coins. Cambodian locals use neither. Like most countries in Asia we pay with our phones, by scanning a barcode that subtracts money directly out of our bank accounts.

    • @DianaNevenTravel
      @DianaNevenTravel  26 дней назад +1

      Yes that’s very true you can use your phones . Very convenient. Thanks for sharing 😊

      Another tip is to use buses in Phnom Penh. The cost is 1500 riel per journey and free if you are elderly. However there are no buses late at night.

    Cambodia pay alot of import fee to Vietnam and Thailand for products coming in. Cambodia don't have it own port yet, that why foods cost more but soon it will be cheap.

      There are 3 main weather seasons in Cambodia. Cool, hot and dry and then hot and wet. December is in the middle of the cool season. You will need summer clothes and a hat to protect you from the strong sun.
