As Frenchspeaker, it's one of the most understandable version I heard. Congrats!!!

I was very fortunate to see this production live and had the honor of meeting the cast. What a memorable and mesmerizing production. I would love for Houston Grand Opera to stage this production again. It was truly a grand production.

Chills up my spine! I love seeing this staged rather than just given in concert. I think opera has a problem similar to ballet in that it tends to be white-dominated, so very nice to see a singer of this quality cast. Was the cast fairly multi-racial? The blend was just amazing.

Why are they staged so far apart during a duet?

I thought the point was to keep them separated while they sing about the love they have for the same woman, which could divide them so they can reunite at the end of the aria where they're affirming their friendship. But yeah, that blend/balance is stunning even when they're many feet apart.

If only the baritone's voice and singing was of the same high quality as the tenor's.

Bro give me a break. Few are on par with Brownlee. Elliot did a great job.

@@williamduke2748 You're right: few baritones are on par with Brownlee. Yet SOME are. Would have been nice (if you're going to bother staging the whole opera) to hire one of them.
