first heard this at 9 years old, wrote down all the lyrics, fell in love...45 still in love, even more so with roxy music. Major fan till my dying day..
My mother loved Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music and I remember listening to this in 1981. Nothing is forced with him or Blondie or the singers of that era who could sing unlike now. There are some exceptions. I still like this in my middle age years as does my elderly mother.
Bought this single from Woolworths in Penzance 1980 on my first Cornish holiday to St Ives aged 8 . The 7” was all black plastic, no label and I was obsessed with the song. Not your typical 8 year olds taste looking back
Peaked as high as No. 5 on the U.K. Singles Chart and was a bit hit in some other European countries as well, but only made it as high as No. 80 on the United States Billboard Hot 100 Charts. GREAT song.
Under 18 Tiffanys Exeter 79. All the girls hit the dance floor when this came on, so did I, my dear friend John(RIP) looked just like Brian Ferry & wore a white suit.. Best times.
Remember singing this in front of my bedroom mirror with a snooker cue as a guitar........even used to move my mouth in a sexy way toó hahaha❤🙏🤣🤣🍰👈😜 unfortunatley no leather pants🙈🙈
Howie Casey here on sax covering for Andy Mackay and doing a great job an ex kings regiment and wings musician, recommended to ferry by Paul mc,cartney.
I suspect they don't - this one for instance has Phil Manzanera playing bass. Check the album credits for how little Tibbs contributed to the recordings.
She shits all over Kylie, Madonna, Taylor, Stevie nicks, Janis, all of them. She may not dress to impress the mindless, but she has a beautiful voice. ❤

@@jeffball6656 oh my gosh! 11 months later someone finally got back to me! Thank you so much, you're a gem. And speaking of gems, that guitar!! Such a beauty. I want one badly!!

Love to hear these personal anecdotal memories
i can't believe no one has commented on this . This is the sexiest B. Ferry video I've ever seen. I love that man. Goddamn
Love this song and Bryan Ferry looks fabulous!!
He also appears to be flying commando. Yes I looked that close.
😍
I totally agree
It's the guitar.
What a special voice.
I'll never get over Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music.
I think my favourite Roxy Music song, but how could Top of the Pops cut it off just when the glorious sax solo was starting!
love roxy for there Sax
Coz it ain't Andy Mackay?
@@paulcooper947 Sax and drugs and rock n roll
I think that’s Chris Mercer on sax.
This song stands the test of time...
One of the best songs of 1980.
So smooth… highest production and recording values ever…
Man that bass guitarist is really enjoying slapping those strings. One of best songs from Roxy Music.
He is the great bass player Gary Tibbs
Future Ant Gary Tibbs.
GT was totally out of place with Roxy Music but he was soon to leave for Adam And The Ants.
slappa da bass
Love this tune if you could call a singer Mr Cool then Bryan Ferry would fit in that bracket.
Robert Palmer 😎
Unique voice, just a fantastic group. 👌
Great how he imitates playing the guitar;)..and hot as always:) ..oh Bryan i will never get over you💔💕
Well he starts off on the right chord anyway
Why no music like this anymore 😎
Those were the days for sure , real music played by proper stars who weren't in it for the short term !!!!
❤
LOVE ROXY MUSIC I SO WISH I COULD GO BACK TO THE 80S ...
Or better, the 70s.
Best guitar of this style ... Phil Manzanera, what a man.
Love this song and Bryan ferry x
Sophisticated music, I cannot think of any other artist apart form Jessie Ware to match such a level of sophistication.
Great song, Ferry's vocals Love the Bass intro, Manzanero was still is a brilliant musician, and Andy mac on the sax, Just a Great band
Peaked as high as No. 5 on the U.K. Singles Chart and was a bit hit in some other European countries as well, but only made it as high as No. 80 on the United States Billboard Hot 100 Charts. GREAT song.

Ultra cool. End of
Brilliant
Roxy Music, underrated band x
Um, not really. They're a seminally influential group and quite revered
Maybe in the States, but were never underrated in the UK....or Europe.
Not underrated at all, they’re continuously and rightly celebrated as one of the most important and influential bands of all time.
I love this Roxy Music song❣️
The catchy tune and double entendre lyrics... 🎶 Oh baby, this is nowhere, wish I were somewhere over you 🎶
My bestie used to dress like Bryan Ferry he had it going on and he knew it ♥️🇦🇺😎
The great Paul Carrick on keyboards,
Classic
Paul Carrack on keys...
My one n only love song..🤘⚡🎸🎸😜😜🔥🔥🥃🥃

Great Upload. I don’t know where folks find these great clips!
Love that Drum Kit😽
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
All my favourite Roxy songs have Gary tibbs on bass.
I suspect they don't - this one for instance has Phil Manzanera playing bass. Check the album credits for how little Tibbs contributed to the recordings.
Is that not the other bass player....was his name Spenner or something like that?
@@mikeMCSG Well at least he got a mention in Ant Rap.
🥀❤️
Dat Bass
buddy is Just Slappin da bass......
❤😊🎉🇩🇰👍👍👍
Great song. Mr Ferry always looked constipated when he sung. Still cool tho.
Paul carrack on keyboards
Paul Merton on drums
ドラム、解雇されたはずのポール・トンプソン。ギター弾いている映像はレアですよ!
Sugoi! Kawaii 💠
don't know them but their Good. Ginny Ross.
The drummer looks like Paul Thompson. Interesting as he quit the band before this album was recorded. Was he brought back just for this TV appearance?
Cloned. Recently Ferry replaced Roxy members like Eno with female dopplegangers
Paul Thompson miming on drums although didn`t play on the record.
「フレッシュ(肉)・アンド・ブラッド」のタイトルトラックのブライアンのギターソロ、キース・リチャードみたいです。
is this live ?
Whos`s miming sax?
Andy on his holibobs? Carrack on keyboards?
Christine?
Where's Andy Mackay?
Paul Carrack with hair.
She shits all over Kylie, Madonna, Taylor, Stevie nicks, Janis, all of them. She may not dress to impress the mindless, but she has a beautiful voice. ❤
they cut off the end of the song!😠
Imagine Brian Ferry with long hair and make up......2022....🤣😂🤣
Does anyone know what model of guitar Bryan Ferry is playing?
It’s a Yamaha SG. Could be a 1000 or a 2000.
The guys in Big Country used them. John McGeough from Siouxsie and Magazine did too.
It was a good Les Paul alternative. Lots of post-punk guitarist used them.
Although, I thin even Carlos Santana played one for a bit.
Lovely guitars.

What the hell is the bass player doing?
LOL good point.
Speed maybe 😂
He’s great music but he’s always so fucking stoned, walked out of his concert
Guitars sound amazing for not being plugged in
