O my goodness sir, it is really great watching your reactions! Love seeing your face as you get somewhat surprised and pleased! May I please request your reaction to Home Free in
"DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR?"
Arranged by Adam Rupp the beatboxer/vocal percussionist and as you might have noticed here has a beautiful tenor voice when he sings. We don't hear him often because he doesn't concider himself a great singer and prefers to be less noticeable and feels more comfortable with his percussion sounds! However in DYHWIH he appears upfront and center! He is a master of many talents besides the vocal perc's. He plays real drums learning just enough to get by so he would know the proper hand positions to look appropriate for beatboxing. He also majored in college in trumpet performance, & plays most wind & reed instruments, keyboard and electric bass guitar. His mom was a music teacher for many years and plays publicly still for church and special performances and projects. Extremely talented! As all the guy's are! Each trained in singing and some type of music instrumentation! Thanks again and God Bless!

Oh yes, "ANGELS WE HAVE HEARD ON HIGH" is wonderful! But this was very long ago. You must hear "DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR?" Which was never a favorite of mine until HOME FREE! They also take advantage of unbelievable locations as they did in "Do you hear what I hear?" And, somewhere you may have been mislead. Although HOME FREE does lean to Country, far more than half of their songs are not country whatsoever! Please try "HEAVEN", "END OF THE ROAD", "BYE, BYE AMERICAN PIE" with the phenomenol Don Mclean. I was not a huge Country fan either. I found out very fast, they cover all genres. I WANT YOU TO BE A HOMEFRY SO BADLY! PLEASE, as I commented earlier, delve down the rabbit hole. There is a whole new world down there. I really like your reactions!

Hi Larry! Home Free is a group of multitalented guys that can sing any genre. They of course have their country spin in places but, here again their arrangements are phenomenal. They do Mary did you Know, White Christmas, which has a definite country feel to it. Do You Hear What I Hear is a really good one. Tim also wrote one called Full of Cheer, which I think you would find very interesting. I'm amazed at each mans individual talent let alone when they come together collectively. Adam, the beatboxer is a world champion so if you would like to hear him do his thing just pull up Home Free: Drum Solo [SPM ST15]. I think you'll be impressed. Then if you want to get a real feel for their talent, go in and pull up 9 to 5 beatbox breakdown. I think you'll end up a homefry for sure! With a shake to boot. Have a great day!

The baritone in the cowboy hat is one of the two founders of the group. He has since left and gone out on his own. They did not start out as a country group, but became that to get on the Sing-Off. they do all kinds of music! It’s a joy to see your pleasure in their music!

Facial expressions show the appreciations (and surprise!) ..... Things (up until the point of HF) we haven't heard or the "way" we hear them. These guys do MUSIC justice and then some, no matter the genre!!!!!!!!!!!! Pulling off "Country" is hard and they do it like it's nothing. Honestly, the only group to pull it off ---- Really will change yer thought on Country! They simply AMAZE! (more on all this later) :)

As for Home Free do undertand they don't do too much "country" it's more surface than anything else. Yeah they done songs that are country iconic songs but I urge you to listen to them, and you'll see what I mean....one is very recent, they did a cover of Patsy Cline's incredible iconic song "Crazy" and the harmonies are amazing...the attention to detail ib the video to clothes & atmosphere is amazing....check that one out...

Hey Larry! I was first introduced to Pentatonix even though Home Free was formed 11 years before they formed. Shortly thereafter, I was introduced to Home Free & I've never looked back! I know that PTX members (old & new) are super talented but Home Free has something that the other acappella groups don't! One Home Fry said they were more accessible. One said that Pentatonix seemed cold & Home Free was warm. I think both are right but it's also their attention to everything they do & not trying to "outdo" other members of the group! You can hear each individual voice in every song they do & they don't mind being silly or embarrassing themselves to entertain their fans! They share the spotlight with each other & they also shine the spotlight on anybody they do collaborations with. They also help other artists & groups! That's a few of the reasons we love & are loyal to these GENUINE guys who just happen to be incredibly talented, individually & as a group!
The next Christmas songs you should do are "Do You Hear What I Hear"? Chris Rupp was still with them then. After that, their new "Mary, Did You Know"? They are both absolutely amazing! They also have another new release, "Christmas Ain't For the Lonely"! Even their silly Christmas songs are vocal perfection!👏😊

Welcome to the Home Fries! I learned very quickly you don't have to be a country fan to love these gentlemen and what they do. I would never have considered myself a country "Fan" until I listened to these guys. I wound up loving everything they do and find their country swag so cool and different from the average. Their hearts and how they honor the music was the final tipping point for me. Hope you continue to explore with an open mind. 😊 Thanks for some great reactions. I'd love for you to check out "Do You Hear What I Hear" or "Cold Hard Cash" by Home Free. The first one is just stunning the second an original just so much fun.

They are also an incredibly talented group, and have many songs on their channel which will astound you. They are often (not always) more theatrical, utilizing makeup, costumes, etc. They just released a stunning Wicked Medley.

You may have already figured it out, but this was shot in the same church as "O Holy Night". It was also shot on the same day. The guys changed clothes between takes. You get a little more of Tim's bass in this one than in the previous two. He can literally shake your seat when you hear him live. He has a 5-octave range so he has no problem singing tenor as well. I’m not a country fan either but you should listen to some of their country songs. Their rendition of Country Roads (by John Denver) is the best I’ve ever heard. Try Helplessly Hoping, One Man Band, Mary Did You Know, What We Ain’t Got, I Can’t Outrun You…there are so many good songs. And just so you know they can be super silly too. I love your reaction/reviews of these two SUPER acapella groups. I don't think you can really classify Home Free as a "country" group. While they have a sort of "country look" at times their voices aren't of the usual country genre. The thing that draws you in is the timbre of their voices when raised together that brings on the whole body chills we all experience with them. Each of them has his own unique sound that brings their music to life. Generally, I HATE all of the typical Christmas Music we hear everywhere this time of year. So it's truly a pleasure to hear Home Free or Pentatonix with something that doesn't just send me running to turn it off.

I know that Home Free is marketed as a country acapella group, but they're actually super versatile and can honestly do anything. Proof? When a Man Loves a Woman, The Butts Remix, End of the Road, Sea Shanty Medley, In The Blood, Castle on the Hill, and tons more. After Christmas, when you're looking for more of their catalog to dive into, I recommend all of those, plus a bunch of their country flavored selections. Hillbilly Bone, Dive Bar Saints (one of their originals), and later, when you're very familiar and comfortable with their roles and ranges within the group, give your ears a big treat and listen to Mayday. But please, PLEASE wait on this one until you think you know what to expect from them. Trust me when I tell you it's best to wait for Mayday! You'll see!!

You have to listen to "Do you hear what I hear" ... the vocal percussion (arranged by Adam Rupp the vocal percussionist) and the bass will blow you away. It is soooooo well arranged and done. There is one part where the bass runs down the scale from high tenor to low bass, also, they just release Mary did you know.....amazing harmonies and subtle percussion and since you did the Pentatonix version, it would be great to hear both and see how they both can blow you away. You don't have to like one group over the other...they are both different but both extremely talented and amazing! You can be a Home Fry and a Pentaholic and become a PentaFry, or Homeaholic.... :)

The harmony is beautiful in this, but since you mentioned the beatboxer, (who is amazing) He was singing with them and no beatboxing, if you want to hear some great beatboxing in a Christmas video/song check out their version of "Do you Hear What I Hear" the beatboxer Adam actually arranged it.

Doesn't have to be right away or anything, but if this one gave you goosebumps, you really should check out their rendition of "How Great Thou Art".... Like this one, no beatboxing, just beautiful, eargasmic 5-part harmony. In keeping with Christmas-y songs, though - please consider Home Free's version of "Mary, Did You Know?". It's not flashy, but I think you'll be impressed.
    Great reaction!!

You should also consider checking out VoicePlay, another amazing acapella group! They have a handful of Christmas songs. You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch, Baby It's Cold Outside, This Christmas, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. All are great

I know it's not Christmas (it's August!) but you have got to listen to Beautiful Star of Bethlehem with Home Free, Jeffrey East and the Oak Ridge Boys. it's just gorgeous!

I am definitely a Home-fry, they are by far my favorite group. And as far as comparing them to PTX, about the only way to properly do that is with a song such as this one, "Angels We Have Heard On High", that both groups have done. I have done a side by side comparison and in my opinion, PTX is good, their vocals are great, but they are more concerned with putting on a show, whereas with HF it's less about putting on a show and more about the sound of the music. Now that's just my opinion...I like PTX, but I LOVE Home Free! Oh and Welcome to the Home Fries!

Please, please, please react to Home Free’s newer release of “Mary Did You Know”. I promise you won’t be disappointed. And “Do You Hear What I Hear” is also simply amazing, arranged by Adam Rupp, the best boxer.

Love going on this journey along with you... Your delight is written all over your face! Welcome to the land of the Home Fries. HF say they are a country vocal band.. but they do all sorts of genres as you are finding out. Listen to "Auld Lang Syne" for New Years.. "Helplessly Hoping", " The Blood"... and many originals too.. "Warmest Winter " was co written by Austin I the super high tenor about his grandma.. makes me tear up every time. New Sub here. Thanks! and Happy Holidays to you and yours too!

Welcome Home Fry! Home Free can do anything! That's what makes them great!
But it's their personalities that clinch it for me, you need to see some of their stuff in a live reaction and see Adam Rupp's drum solo! Gonna win you over. Not to say Pentatonix is not good, they are, but.... I'm not a big country fan either... Love to your mom, Merry Christmas!🎄

Hey, I want to thank you for your Xmas reactions. I am not celebrating this year as I lost my beautiful Mum 6months ago and it just feels wrong without her. I used to sing in a choir and this used to be my favourite time of year because of all the amazing songs, both traditional and new, that we got to sing in so many different ways 💖. Watch you however react to music the way that I feel about it has made me smile, be astonished, moved and even cry (it was your video that I saw James Blunt 'Monsters' for the first time!) It is the one thing that connects every body in the world regardless of skin colour, religion, culture or gender and at the moment with so much division and hatred, we really need to appreciate the more similarities between us than differences. Sorry if this message sounds depressing, it really isn't meant to. You have helped me so much recently with your joy and kindness. So thank you again and keep doing what you do because it is awesome! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY 🎄🎧🎄💖💖💖

When Pentatonix first burst on the scene, I was wowwed! Extremely talented but I find I cannot listen to them anymore. It's missing one critical component to me that Home Free has in spades. An organic feel. Pentatonix feels like a committee made them (enjoy if you like them! it's not an either/or situation)
It's like VoicePlay is great and when I'm in the mood for theatrics, they absolutely rock it! But, I always end up listening to Home Free when I just want some music.

HomeFree is Amazing!! I love country music and that's where they started. But One of my Favorites that they did was called "The Butts Remix". It's country and hip hop mashed together. I think you would like that. Not a Christmas theme though. I am a HomeFry for sure

Omgosh Larry, I was sitting here watching you watch this video & I can see u going through the HF rabbithole! It's so exciting!!
It's like watching someone go through a transformation. LOL It's nice to see that u are enjoying HF's music.
HF recently released a version of "Go Tell it on the Mountain ". It was a collaboration w/ a group called Texas Hill. It is incredible!! U must listen to it!! They also have a wonderful version of "Mary Did You Know" & " Silent Night". They also have some non-religious songs too. There's, " Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer ", " Full of Cheer" & "Cold Hard Cash". They would surely put a smile on ur face. There are others too! Please consider a couple of these!! 😊
Take care Larry!! Blessing to u & ur family. Stay safe!! Feliz Navidad!! ❤🎶🎄🎅🏼🤶🏼🎁✝️ Merry Christmas to anyone who is reading this. May you all find some peace this holiday season. Keep well everyone!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
