I went through the comments below,..but none of you appriciated the good work of the KSRTC bus driver coming down hill. How many noticed the KSRTC bus which was coming down from the top down hill, stopped well before the 'U' bend, because the Brilliant driver spotted the traffic jam in oncoming 'U' bend well ahead ( kudos to that KSRTC driver for seeing things ahead ), resulting in the incoming traffic had a smooth passage uphill.
World best drivers are from Karnataka RTC drivers...I salute them...I travelled more than 350 kilometres up and down in a month in KSRTC but never met with a minor accident in my 3 years of travelling... World best drivers are from Karnataka state ....Every state drivers should follow them....
Look at this Ksrtc driver's they are negotiating bends effortlessly and one more other driver waiting patiently while coming down that's the quality of good driving,salute to Ksrtc drivers.
Good to see people following rules. And red buses seem to be shining new. Wish the buses maintained more distance between them especially on the climb up.
Main thing to be noted here is wheelbase and rear over hang.....tourist bus had maximum wheelbase & rear overhang, so obviously turning radius will be longer. All the 4 KSRTC buses had lesser wheelbase n lesser rear overhang. In Ashok Leyland n Tata they have several wheelbase options for the bus chassis. Visit their official sites to know about different bus chassis they have. Ofcourse private bus operators choose longer wheelbase to accommodate more seats....!!

Actually both the tourist and ksrtc was 12m private was bit higher and loaded infact there are some long private buses which daily runs in this road very easily.. It depends on drivers how they uses the road in hairpin bend.
