Love supper clubs. Much harder to find now days with the chain restaurants. Glad I grew up in the era of the supper club❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’m glad I saw this on my feed! You both look a little different back then but still awesome! I love the supper club experience! Friday night fish fry’s and old fashions are the best❤
Marty with hair!! lol
My good friend MJ is the owner of Maiden Lake Supper club, one of my favorite places.
That's one for my bucket list.
Very cool, Anthony! Just think, if you ever come to Wisconsin during winter, you'll already be acclimated to the weather lol.
Looks like mine and hubby’s kind of place!
Cool Amy! ❤️
Thanks Sally, that was different and fun!
Thank you Dean! Glad I got to share the experience with all of you.
thanks Sally. Now I am starving. Cool place thanks for sharing
Thanks Tim! Sounds like you could use a snack, lol.
Grasshoppers are our after dinner cocktail/dessert. Here in Illinois we do our own home version of a supper club with our blended family with all the supper club favorites.
I love Grasshoppers!
I relish tray
Looks like a great place for a relaxing meal, looks like you had a nice timewith plenty of good eats, now im hungry thats for sure lol, thanks for showing us your lovely evening, till next time Miss.Sally. be safe and stay warm. Your friend Barbara
Thank you Miss Barbara. I'm really glad we could share this evening with all of you. I hope you found yourself a nice snack afterwards, lol. It's almost spring. Hope you're enjoying yourself. Take care until next time. ❤️
Old Fashions are awesome
Great video thanks for sharing the food looks really good
I'm feeling a bit of dejavu, lol. Hello again Costa Rican Angel, thank you for watching & leaving such nice comments today!
Living in SoCal while working for a firm in Fort Atkinson, WI meant that when I visited HQ 4-6 times a year (for almost 15 years) we routinely visited several of the local supper clubs. Your description and guidelines are spot on.
Do not be in a hurry.
Spend time talking and getting to know your fellow diners and the club owners.
If it’s fish fry night things will be even more entertaining.
Know something about the current sport being played by the Badgers (and, of course the Packers)
Finally, most Wisconsinites are professional drinkers; you cannot out consume them.
That's livin' large. imo Love those type places. Almost makes time stop. We are blessed in the USA. Nice presentation Sally.
Thank you Mr. Breeze, great to hear from you. Yes, it definitely has a different atmosphere - an 'old fashioned' feel to it (I'm not referring to the drink, btw). It was a special treat for sure. 😊
Now that looked like a GREAT place. Love the atmosphere. And may I say, you looked very nice.
Thank you Blindviews 😊
TYSVM for the experience! Now I have to do it for real! Wisconsin road trip👍💋
Awesome! You're very welcome David! Glad you enjoyed it. 😊
What a splendid place to visit! Everything looked so special and you looked so pretty! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Susan!! ❤️
Steak look good ! Nice place & good conversation !
It was very good, Glenn! My mouth is watering just thinking about it, lol.
@@SightseeingSally just in Wisconsin? Definitely be a place to check out ! Have a few drinks & dinner ! Ever get back to Wisconsin I will have
To check it out !
Might be able to find one outside Wisconsin, you’d have to do some research to see if there are any by you. Supper Clubs at one time were popular across the United States. The first one was actually opened in California... by a man from Wisconsin. Times change, though. Even in Wisconsin they are becoming more rare. Let’s hope the ones that are still open, stay open.
@@SightseeingSally thanks Sally!
Hi Sally, The supper club is very cozy and romantic. Sounds like good food and drink in a relaxing atmosphere. A good video and thank you for sharing. :)
Thank you Robert. I'd definitely recommend it. Food was excellent and service spot on. It's a lovely place to dine out if you enjoy slowing down. 😊
Awesome video Sally! I could chill here any time of year
Thank you Jay!!
Very nice, and you both looked fantastic in that warm romantic setting!!!
Thank you John!
Love WI supper clubs. 💚💚
You make the best videos Sally. Thank You
Aww, thank you Greg!! 😊
You look fabulous, Sally! Especially loved your hair. I read that Wisconsin was founded by Scandinavians and Germans. Are you of German descent?
Thank you Hubert. No, I'm mainly of Polish and Bohemian descent.
My favorites in WI just from my travels so obviously I’ve missed many of them is: Ishnala Supper Club,Lake Delton,WI (WI Dells)-On Mirror Lake, The Buckhorn Supper Club, Milton, WI on Lake Koshkonong. Walkers Supper Club, Green Lake, WI
I made the mistake of arriving at Ishnala at 5 on a Saturday in the summer. I was told the wait was 2.5 hours. I went elsewhere. I will try again soon.
@@chrishuber3262 it’s a destination experience that you must set an evening aside for while you wonder the grounds, beach, or partake in one of 5 bars in premises. It is Wisconsin after all!! Cheers!
Man that looks good, mmmmm
Did that make you hungry for a nice juicy steak, lol?
Oh yeah, lol
Oh my god.... Mmmmmm
Got steak? lol 😁
Hi Sally, I like the warm cozy atmosphere and romantic setting. It looks like they have many delicious foods to choose from and a drink of your choice at the bar. I like a place where one can relax and enjoy the evening with excellent food to choose from. I am commenting again on this supper club because it is a delightful way to spend an evening with your better half. Thank you for allowing us to share this video and experience with you. :)
Awww, Thank you Bob :) I’m glad you really enjoyed this video.
I miss Wisconsin! Love a brandy old fashioned sweet - they don't make them with brandy in Texas. You look just wonderful, Sally. But now I'm craving a good medium-rare steak...
Thank you Sarah! So I'm guessing if you order a brandy old fashioned sweet in Texas they just look at you funny?? You'll have to get your hubby to either cook you up a nice steak or take you out to dinner now. Tell him I said you deserve it for all the hard work you do.😘
Ok Sally whats up with that? lol Your sitting there stuffing your face on medium to medium rare as Marty sits there staring over the dining room with his arms folded eating nothing lol! and you looked lovely by the way may I add :)
Thank you Joseph. Lol, Marty eats a lot faster than I do. He was already done eating when I filmed that shot of him.
Liver Pate', Heart Food. I love all of the varietal French pate', fortunately its not widely available here in the WV Eastern Panhandle. I grew up in Southern N.J. we had similar Restaurants with live entertainment a varied menu and served till closing time 2 AM. Some had dancing. I went with my Brother and our dates, it was 1960 I remember because he had a New 1960 Chevy! He was very, very drunk when we left. He wouldn't let me drive. I did not drink alcohol. We drove home in the middle of the road at 10 Mph! Years later I had to bail him out twice for drinking. Fortunately he found the path to sobriety and was alcohol free for 38 years. Unfortunately the Finality of Time, interceded and he is no longer with us. I am the last twig of my family branch. Something they did in those places was take your picture , develop and print it while you ate. Civility and finesse have declined since the 50's and 60's. Let's hope your Supper Club sticks around for many years to come. The ones I remember disappeared when high speed, limited roads replaced the 2 lane County Roads. I have to admit if I went to your Supper Club my Cats would be enjoying some of that Pate when I got home.".
I read that supper clubs were originally meant to be the place to go for an entire night out - with live bands, dancing, the works. Some places here in Wisconsin still keep to the old traditions and have live entertainment as well. It is a very nice dining experience. I'm naturally a slow eater so I enjoyed the evening thoroughly. That is very cool that they used to take pictures to commemorate the night. I'm sorry to hear your brother is no longer with the living. How scary the drive home must have been. I'm glad nothing happened and you all made it home safely. Kudos to him for choosing sobriety and being alcohol free for 38 years. I bet the cats would enjoy the Pate, too!
#1😺
Woohoo! 🥳
@@SightseeingSally 😊
Wow. I am about the same weight & hight as you, so l know there is no way you ate all that food 🤣. That said it was a lovely place to have a meal and as a slow eater and drinker it's right up my street 😊.
Lol, we brought home 'doggy bags' and ate the leftovers the next night for supper. The poor pups didn't get any, though. 🐶😘
@@SightseeingSally Oh yes l forgot about Americans and a doggy bag. You can do that in the UK too, but we tend not to.🙂
$25K in bridgework/porcelain implants no relish & carrots for me. vfw serves pretty good chicken alfredo free live music and no generation x'ers
Chicken Alfredo sounds good! Our VFW usually just serves Friday night fish.
