The additional wooden boxes completely changes the effect for the worse imho. It used to be a "mystery card" that was on display before a card was selected that turns into the selected card. With the additional boxes its now become "card to impossible location" which is less magical.
I don't know that it's less magical, both display an "impossible" feat - remember Blaine did card to Orange for Harrison Ford - that got an incredible reaction
@@magicorthodoxy Yeah, "Get the @#%! out of my house", if memory serves.
HI David, Nice Review, nice boxes and they are TCC...
Yes they are
Great review as always, David! I really struggled with this one for a while. I love the nest of boxes effect and the selling point of this one for me is the fact that you show that the clear box is empty in the beginning. At first, I was really excited about this but I have to say that the more I scrutinized the video of the card "coming out of the box", the worse this started to look. All I'll say is that things do not look completely copacetic after the card dump. I'm probably making too much of it and it's probably fine in performance because everyone's eyes naturally go to the folded card in your hand anyway but if I'm gonna spend $250 on a prop, I want it to be as good as it possibly can be.
Ultimately though, my decision not to pick this up (for now, I may change my mind later) is that I already own the very excellent "In case of emergency" from Adam Wilber and Vulpine creations. Absolutely killer prop and it's completely examinable after you "dump the card out". I hand the prop out for the spectator to look at and this thing KILLS. I can't think of any other effect that I've done that has gotten a stronger reaction than "In case of emergency". All that being said, this nest of boxes prop looks amazing and I may wind up changing my mind a little later when money isn't so tight.
I understand
So, the whole point of a clear box is for it to be on show the whole time, the card inside on display the whole time. So you’re taking a clear box and putting it inside not to clear boxes….
yes
I bought double lock box and thought it was terrible. I have not used it once because I'm nervous the load will be noticed. I'm looking into this one next in hopes I'll use it. At least it's got a video tutorial unlike the double lock box.
good luck
This sounds and looks amazing! I love the see thru box! It gives it a nice twist and makes it appear more innocent than another wooden box! TCC makes such beautiful magic!
It does!
A clarity box2.0 and a few slightly larger wooden boxes will achieve the same illusion
great tip
Really struggling to work out which of these clear boxes to go for, and it’s difficult to know about reliability of gimmicks etc.
This is the only one I think I’ve ever been able to work out, but then I’m worried about angles (because I’m always watching through the youtuber’s camera!)
Good morning David. I never had an interest in a box effect mostly because I never knew much about it. This is very interesting to be sure. Perhaps for me when I'm a better magician and have a real show. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
Every once in a while, I decide to destroy a deck and learn Mercury. I'm no closer now than I was 40 years ago. Oh, well......
I never figured it out either 🥲
If you haven't tried it, the thing that got me finally doing mercury folds was a striking kit. "The Bullet" is an excellent one that I use, and with it, my mercury folds are always perfect, every time.
Nice props, and review 👍😊👍😊
Thanks! 👍
Thanks David. Lovely bit of kit.
👍👍👍
Another “less in more” release from TCC 🤷♂️
Too many releases from them and now they are partnering with other well-known magicians.
Thanks David 👍👍
Good point
Hi dear colleague, When will we be able to see the review of UNLIFTABLE?
Currently it's only viewable for member's
@@magicorthodoxy Since you are talking about my product in your review. Is there any chance I can check out that review? Many thanks in advance. Iñaki
L bell,L bell please
what?
prime example of how this industry is overflowing with unnecessary garbage. that much of a build up for a card reveal? why not have a card in Ice buried 6 feet before the show to reveal a....card. no wonder this art is found in the games section in a library. 20 bucks you're throwing this shite in a giveaway😅
stick to David penns FOB, this is pretentious AF
this is FOB everyone www.penguinmagic.com/p/3135
I agree 1000,% .....
I also have FOB and think the spec will remember the same thing at the end...and it makes sense..It's an EDC, it's organic. I like the idea of the box being shown empty from the beginning and then suddenly, magically there's now a card in there. It does seem more impossible so I'll applaud that. But for an intermediate hobbyist I'm doing FOB
@@brianmendenhall8387 I hear you guys but personally, I didn't care for FOB because the unloading seemed too unnatural (in my hands, at least). "In case of emergency", on the other hand, is wonderful and it's my go-to for this type of effect and I've owned a lot of them over the years, believe me.
I had Nest of Walets, but i got disapointed because there was not gimmick. ..☹️
I expected btw , z
