I'm always amazed not only by the illusions themselves, but the methodology behind them. That's why magicians network among each other because no one person could've think about making these tricks by themselves. It's also taboo to reveal tricks because it made creating new tricks much harder
Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin invented the trick with the magnet around 1840. The story is that he showed this trick in Algeria in 1856, where a strong Algerian rebel could not lift the box. Robert-Houdin however could. Robert-Houdin also did the routine of catching a bullet with his teeth, which convinced the Algerians that their rebellion against the magically superior French was bad idea, this preventing a war. Nowadays, quite a few magic supply experts build and sell such boxes (and who still pretend that the principle of operation is a secret). Of course, in the 1840s, the electromagnet (invented just a some years ago in 1825) was under the floor, not in the box. Quite a few of the tricks explained on this channel are more than 100 years old. In another video, the "East Indian Needle Trick" is explained (performer swallows three threads of different color and then a needle, a member of the audience choses a color and the performer produces the needle from his mouth, with the correct thread in the needle's eye). That trick is over 200 years old, and when Harry Houdini (real name Erik Weisz, his stage name was a homage to Robert-Houdin) performed his variations, it was already 80 years old. Harry Houdini had also walked through walls, but details were different from Copperfield's version (Houdini had no stairs to hide in). Regardless - what turns the _tricks_ into _magic_ is the presentation. You simply don't envision a young lady commanding around assistants like you'd expect from David Copperfield. And she's not just pulling off a routine, she made it clear that the audience (and especially Simon) are a valued part of the performance. I found this performance much nicer than Copperfield's trick. Although Copperfield connects to the audience by making them fear for his life, it's still all centered around him.
This is one of those categories of magic that I’ve never really enjoyed, something anyone can learn and perform in an afternoon, and even figure out without help, not really that impressive. As an adult I no longer regret knowing how some tricks are perform, I admire the performance and the skill needed. My infant neices are probably still young enough to believe in magic, but I worry that sooner or later they will come across a video like this when Mum/Grandma leaves them alone with an iPad or Smart Phone!? Childhood is no longer an age of innocence and children grow up to quick! I guess thats Capitalism for you as Father Christmas and the Tooth Fairy will cost my Brother and Sister money keeping up with the pretense of make believe?
This video again makes me believe that illusion is the art of performance many times more than the art of machinery behind it. It is not the secret of the device, it is the secret of being a great performer. That is a core of magic, imo. Thank you for your great video.
I appreciate your channel. Regarding Trick 1 and the use of the card ejector, I disagree that an offstage assistant is used to press the transmitter remote. In the video you can see that the magician is doing something with his right hand. It is my suspicion that the magician has the remote hidden in his left sleeve. It appears that he is pressing the button with his right hand. This action is somewhat camouflaged by the position of his left arm and the cards held in his left hand.
Great stuff. Like I say, 'A magic trick is no fun unless you know how it's done.' But I'm still looking for the Pendragon secret of passing a human thru a human.
@@irehman7 Me neither. But in the TV series "The Lost World", episode "A Man of Vision", Nick Pendragon plays a cannibal chief. Does cannibalism pass as "passing a human though a human"? In any case, the protagonists manage to escape, before passing though the gastric tract. The only other trick which comes to mind is how a magician hides body parts inside an assistant. But RUclips doesn't allow these kinds of acts.
Piano wire. You can't see it from afar, and a 1080 HD camera can't see it even reasonably close up. And, in a camera, blue is noisier than other colors, further obscuring the minimal dimming effect the wire has on just a few pixels. 1.22mm piano wire can carry 350kg (but check the parallelogram of force; the wire needs to carry much more than the performers weight!). In the closest shot, I estimate that a 1080 camera could see objects with a size of 2mm.
@@klausstock8020 You can see the wire in some of the shots if you're looking for it. Be nice to know what you were stating in standard units instead of those terrible metric units.
For the first time, I don't agree with all of the explanations. In trick 10, the wires would have been a standard two-wire waist stunt harness, like circus training 101. They would come from overhead and would perfectly explain all the flying and better explains when the hoop was passed to "show no wires". You can see the harness attachment points at :56 There is an overhead lateral rolling suspension trolley that the harness wires suspend from that explains the stage right-left movement and hanging angles. This is like youth music theater doing Peter Pan easy. Horizontal cables coming from stage right/left would require a huge amount of load tension to lift a grown man and would never offered the speed of movement in the trick. Its why the hoop was necessary, to stop the swinging and swaying of the flying magician on lateral motions. Then, Trick 2, the fish tank. I think there was an internally angled or bent sheet of acrylic that made the inner tank look whole and 'bubbly' and full of water, like and angled mirror cube.. The front pane of glass was just a dummy slide pane that had a hole in it and could be brought up when the napkin came out. There was no need for the tape membrane or dual planes if no water was present in the hand insert through the glass. Unfortunately, there isn't enough to go on from this video, but I don't see a wet hand coming out with the necklace.
In trick 10, if you watch the original performance, Penn and Teller mentioned that he performed using David Copperfeild's method. David uses this exact method I described. Furthermore that clockwise horizontally body spin doesn't make sense according to your wire structure. The question isn't that " he could still spin with the vertial wiring" but " why does he spin only once and only aftrr his body is lifted horizontally?". If your wiring structure was used they wouldn't ever consider even spinning the body in the first place.
For trick 2: They is genuinely water inside, no mirrors etc. See original performance link in description. You can also search on RUclips Cyril's multiple performance in different occasions you can find no such concept as you are describing. Plus based on your description you are over complicating the method to the point its just impractical and extremely hard to set up.
@@irehman7 David Copperfield flies with a double array of fine wires that are near to vertical, not near to horizontal (the details can be seen in John Gaughan's patent). To lift somebody with the setup you describe you'd need two thick cables and, as nudsh says, a huge amount of tension.
@@irehman7 The wires are diagonal but they are near to vertical, not near to horizontal. David Copperfield's flying is controlled from above, not from the sides.
Another good one. Speaking of Anna Deguzman she is going to be on the Finals of Americas Got Talent, I will be watching her on Tuesday, hopefully you will see her and put her act in your video. I think she is the only magician to make the finals.
The real ilusion of the one where he is cut in half is that i already know it's 2 persons but what my brain doesnt get is how they fit in such a thin table
If you didn't figure it out by now, it's because the table is way thicker in the middle. Perspective hides a lot of this thickness. It's why the table is like 5 feet deep, when it only needs to be around 2-3. If you pause @17:35 you can see it's actually very thick going up, but only in the middle. Then again @17:50 you can see there's an extra box underneath as well. Finally, his shirt is hanging down. If you look at his posture, you can see his chest is actually above the table. It's a game of inches, but he has a lot of them.
@@irehman7why the AI voice though? It's pretty cheap to get real voice talent, or to use your own, no? That plus the robot face made the whole channel feel AI-generated at first.
For the magic square trick, when she asked him to think of a number between 25 and 100, I picked 26! I suspect that whenever she does this trick, 26 would be chosen slightly more often than other numbers because of the range she offers. When she says the number 25, your mind subconciously suggests the next number in sequence. Not for everybody, but it certainly seemed to work that way for me and Penn.
Hey Irehman7, This is the Mac Daddy of all your FANTASTIC videos. This is your ALL-STAR video, man . Great work, as always, but this is much more enjoyable and more amazing. I saw Copperfield around 2000. He did the buzz saw illusion in this show. Although I had a good suspicion that an assistant was being used, I really liked that illusion. It was built very well, and it almost had me fooled, but i knew better, lol. But, it was still very impressive, Copperfield style. Copperfield flew above the stage in that show. Im guessing that he did it closely related to your explanation in this video of the magician in the air? I would love to know how he and that young man vanished above the audience and went to Hawaii? I realize that was pre recorded. I always wanted to know how the magic square was done. I dont get along with mathematics, lol. I saw a youtube video of a guy teaching it. I was still confused, but your explanation was easy to follow and understand. Thanks. I also wanted to know how the heavy box trick was done. Thank you. Does IZZY still perform magic? I have not heard her name for awhile? Take care.
Copperfield ''flew '' through the air because he was attached to some strings very thin hanging on the ceiling and can be rolled on katrols The strings are attached to a harnas he wears under his shirt hip height.
The Trick #8 card trick - the process behind it is more impressive than the trick itself. Insane hand skills, trickery, memorization. All while keeping s straight face and confidence. I guess this applies for all the tricks we see.
Great video...Could you do Derren Brown when he hypnotised a woman to call every dice throw correctly. Also his other stuff bloows my mind. Its all done live on stage shows and shown on tv. Many thanks.
Even if it's obviously trickery it takes some talent not make people realise the trick, I wouldn't be able to do it, these illusionists are still very impressive, it's interesting to try to find out the trick.
Ugh I hate it when shows like Fool us or AGT cut out parts to hide reveals...the whole point of magic is the magician having to fool us, not the damn editors.
Cyril Takayama's tricks have me so convinced for years!! Thanks for showing how it works. I would love to know how he takes a hamburger out of a sign board too 😆
11:36 the place where the photographer allegedly took the photos isn't the same. And if it were that place just a few minutes before the magician approached them they would 100% know what happened. There must be some other explanation. Some kind of Polaroid camera secretly used by someone close to them perhaps. The pictures aren't from the angle it would be if the magician took the photo.
Hey irehman7, I love your videos and clear explanations! I've been looking at some of shin lim's 'at home' magic where he produces cards and a deck of cards seemingly out of thin air, how does he do this?
I have mad respect for magicians it is hard as heck to perform these tricks so seamlessly...and even knowing how their done doesnt deflect from the artistry of illusion. I figured this out while trying to learn magic to kind of debunk a magician friend of mine. Now I actually respect him more. Lol
There still seems to be some randomized sequence for solving the magick square. Top left 26-20, the 2nd square down 26-21,the 3rd far right is 26-18 then 2nd from left bottom row is 26-19. There doesn't appear to be a sequenced order to the calculations explained.
I don't like the fact that the producers and even judges of the talent shows cooperate with the performers beforehand. It's not fair and degrades the whole show.
Good night from Indonesia. Hello best friend. I really like your content. REALLY AMAZING MAGICS. It's really impressive. Thank you for sharing a very good, interesting and inspiring video for all of us. Hopefully we can all be better, healthier, stronger, successful, happier and always under God's protection
as a wise man once said, "Eeee eeei eie eeeee eeea eeeeeaeeee eee aaaah ei ei eeeeeeeeh-" knowing the trick doesnt kill the fun, it just makes it that much more impressive.
In no world is that platform 10 centimeters wide. Secondly, the area right below the platform upon which the magician and assistant are going to hide a portion of their body is color black, so it blends with the dark background and has a bulge right underneath the area near the center of the base, so there's enough room for the assistant and the magician to hide a portion of their body inside it.

All those copperfield tricks have already een disclosed years ago. Look up on YT.
I guess thats Capitalism for you as Father Christmas and the Tooth Fairy will cost my Brother and Sister money keeping up with the pretense of make believe?
well another make belief is christianity.
@@connectthedots5678No, that's real, unlike the belief there are more than 2 genders.
Even with the reveal, these are very difficult tricks that can take years to perfect. Awesome vid!!
Good reveals! Awesome job as always!!!
Thank you 🤗
I really liked the last illusion(s). So much technology and traditional techniques envolved.
This video again makes me believe that illusion is the art of performance many times more than the art of machinery behind it. It is not the secret of the device, it is the secret of being a great performer. That is a core of magic, imo. Thank you for your great video.
There is still great value in machinery behind it.
@@honor9lite1337 very true!
Really appreciated
Can you share a link. I haven't seen that trick.
@@irehman7 ruclips.net/video/_wAN3xjCCIs/видео.html
@@irehman7 Me neither. But in the TV series "The Lost World", episode "A Man of Vision", Nick Pendragon plays a cannibal chief. Does cannibalism pass as "passing a human though a human"? In any case, the protagonists manage to escape, before passing though the gastric tract.
The only other trick which comes to mind is how a magician hides body parts inside an assistant. But RUclips doesn't allow these kinds of acts.
amazing, as always! The holo-fan is so clever! thank you!
Saw Copperfield in Vegas two years ago. Fantastic Show!
I would like to know what kind of wires they use for those levitating tricks
It's invisible wire. What do you mean, you've never seen any? 😁
Saw David perform that trick live, he was genuinely amazing
Yes I agree with that, the wires are obviously diagonal, 100% horizontal is not even possible physical since the wire isn't rigid like a rod.
@@irehman7 The wires are diagonal but they are near to vertical, not near to horizontal. David Copperfield's flying is controlled from above, not from the sides.
Excellent and proper reveals! I suspected all of these, and this confirms it. Very, very clever deductions and experiences!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Brilliant reveals! Well done - as always!
Thanks!
This is awsom canal! always thinking how they do these! THNX!
Glad you like them!
Right, I immidiatly understood it must be two people (I'm sure most people do) but I was so confused trying to think out how.
@@teijaflink2226Magician’s assistants are thin for a reason; they need to fit in hidden crevices. No DEI hiring there
Nice video. Thanks.
Thank you!
Wow so interesting! I love your videos 👍
Thank you so much!
David Copperfield watching this: thank fu*k RUclips didn't exist back then!
No, because he wouldn't swear like a child.
@@TehButterflyEffect Ok, how about "My goodness, I'm very glad RUclips didn't exist back then. Kind regards"
That was brilliant thank you
I don't usually like robot voice videos, but this was really good! Personally I enjoy the tricks even more when I can see the behind the scenes too.
Hey, thanks!
@@irehman7why the AI voice though? It's pretty cheap to get real voice talent, or to use your own, no? That plus the robot face made the whole channel feel AI-generated at first.
I love magic....so I love this channel!
Glad you enjoy it!
Me too !
Learning and performing these illusions is the true magic..making people believe in magic is amazing..
Excellent video. Really good work there!
Thank you very much!
I tried No5 at the end of September last year on my left index finger, didn't work out as good!
Wow, I love your work
Thank you very much!
Great explanations indeed that's why they are called illusions
Yes!
That dynamo guy is the saddest 'magician' i have ever seen. He's as usefull as an Amish electrician
Take care.
Thank you! Do share links the videos you are referring too
Copperfield ''flew '' through the air because he was attached to some strings very thin hanging on the ceiling and can be rolled on katrols The strings are attached to a harnas he wears under his shirt hip height.
@connectthedots5678 - Thank you, friend. I did finally learn how he did it. I appreciate your help and reply.
Happy new year.
Be safe.
More of Cyril Takayama, please.

Thank you too!
Very good observation
That lil girl used a lot of fancy gimmicks
First time ever i saw a explanation of this ultimate wizards!
Even if it's obviously trickery it takes some talent not make people realise the trick, I wouldn't be able to do it, these illusionists are still very impressive, it's interesting to try to find out the trick.
Algo feeding time.
👹 Nom, nom, nom. 👹
Awesome videos thanks a lot.
My pleasure!
Ugh I hate it when shows like Fool us or AGT cut out parts to hide reveals...the whole point of magic is the magician having to fool us, not the damn editors.
Cyril Takayama's tricks have me so convinced for years!! Thanks for showing how it works. I would love to know how he takes a hamburger out of a sign board too 😆
Once again Bravo amazing I believe you write or create magic for magicians that's the only thing I can think of 👏👏
Wow, thank you
Love your presentations
Thank you!
I just saw your channel..Great explained ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much 🙂
David Copperfield was the best illusionsist of his time
11:36 the place where the photographer allegedly took the photos isn't the same. And if it were that place just a few minutes before the magician approached them they would 100% know what happened. There must be some other explanation. Some kind of Polaroid camera secretly used by someone close to them perhaps. The pictures aren't from the angle it would be if the magician took the photo.
Love to know !!!
Because of this, those magicians will hate you bruh xD
Hey irehman7, I love your videos and clear explanations! I've been looking at some of shin lim's 'at home' magic where he produces cards and a deck of cards seemingly out of thin air, how does he do this?
Thanks! You can find the explanation in this video :: ruclips.net/video/JoffiPDXcis/видео.html
I have mad respect for magicians it is hard as heck to perform these tricks so seamlessly...and even knowing how their done doesnt deflect from the artistry of illusion. I figured this out while trying to learn magic to kind of debunk a magician friend of mine. Now I actually respect him more. Lol
About the first one.. How do they hide the wire so well?
Know what? That:s why I wanna keep watching Penn and Teller unplugged versions.
But how do they hide the wire in trick number one? It would have to be a decent size to hold a man up,right?
THANKS 👍 😊
No problem 👍
Not a fan of the robot voice, but the content is good.
Without these answers I’d surely go nuts trying to figure these tricks out
Even knowing how the trick was done, I still appreciate the illusionist talent and performance.
I can see you being the guy that reveals your crying 8y old cousins magic trick to the family during the holiday gettogether.
Having to memorize a bunch of these numbers is more impressive than the actual trick.
Purely entertaining trick magic😊
yep
You and these magicians are way smarter than me. 😊
Not really, just a different thinking approach .
Awesome
You are wrong on one thig. Copperfield did indeed manipulate time and repaired his body! The othger tricks are explained correctly. Nice
There still seems to be some randomized sequence for solving the magick square. Top left 26-20, the 2nd square down 26-21,the 3rd far right is 26-18 then 2nd from left bottom row is 26-19. There doesn't appear to be a sequenced order to the calculations explained.
Good job sir
Thanks!
I don't like the fact that the producers and even judges of the talent shows cooperate with the performers beforehand. It's not fair and degrades the whole show.
First one still make me confused, bcs, how hard I try, I cant see any wire anywhere. How is that possible?
Good night from Indonesia. Hello best friend. I really like your content. REALLY AMAZING MAGICS. It's really impressive. Thank you for sharing a very good, interesting and inspiring video for all of us. Hopefully we can all be better, healthier, stronger, successful, happier and always under God's protection
Totally awesome tricks and trick me some more just trying to figure it out is a trick in itself
I like the cool avatar dude for this channel. He looks really cool, imo.
Thanks! Here is the real life version which it is based off: ruclips.net/video/lNRDhLnk5eU/видео.html
Fun!
as a wise man once said, "Eeee eeei eie eeeee eeea eeeeeaeeee eee aaaah ei ei eeeeeeeeh-"
knowing the trick doesnt kill the fun, it just makes it that much more impressive.
I love the way you say "we noticed some things" like you're debunking the fact that it's magic while everyone knows none of this is real. 😂👏
😂😂💀
Still a question for me. How could Copperfield's half body and the acrobat entirely fit a 10 cm wide platform?
I was waiting for this question in the comment section. Was wondering as well.🤨
In no world is that platform 10 centimeters wide. Secondly, the area right below the platform upon which the magician and assistant are going to hide a portion of their body is color black, so it blends with the dark background and has a bulge right underneath the area near the center of the base, so there's enough room for the assistant and the magician to hide a portion of their body inside it.
Love this brotha! Thanks for the information 🙏🏾
18:38 He used a white colored shirt, similar to a shirt. Hahaha
