The split person trick is what Penn Jillette calls the "too perfect" trick. The only way to do that is with people who don't have legs, ergo that's how it's done.

Anyone can perform Chris's best tricks. All you need is good props, good actors, good editors and plenty of time. The reason he's tricks are so famous is because he is a very talented actor and has good connections in the industry
It's called entertainment. That doesn't make him a fraud. He played a part, like actors do. It's not a big deal and he's done some amazing things to help support children with cancer research. His own son had Leukemia as a toddler. He made his craft into a success, regardless of who hates him.
But once you know he's an entertainer and not a magician, his shows are not entertaining anymore because they can be explained away with a video editing trick.

Criss Angel has never impressed me. I've seen him on TV where the supposed magic was easy to figure out... it was stop-motion action. Stop the camera, move the object, turn the camera back on. So fake and obvious, especially the paid actors. Personally, I think he's a terrible magician that uses TV camera trickery rather than impressive performance skills.
He's one of the worst using video editing to do tricks. I remember his last season of his show being so terrible he didn't even try to hide the fact it's obvious he edits the video because the tricks were so ridiculous and impossible there was no other way except video editing and FX.
It's not magic if done with help of camera video editing and full of dozens of takes. I prefer magic done in a single take all with only the skill of the magician and with only hand movement only to create the illusion.

I bet that was traumatizing to see as a child, I am so sorry you had to go through that and that it's still affecting you this much so many years later. ❤ Now I say this as am amputee myself (missing half my left leg) I'm not real sure about the optics of using an amputee's disability to scare children and generally freak people out, we have enough problems getting others to treat us like worthwhile human beings, using someone as a literal prop makes me uncomfortable. However, if the amputee gets paid generously and is cool with it I can't really say it's wrong for them to take that job because jobs are harder to come by when you are disabled and in a wheelchair.
Chris Angel is actually infamous amongst magicians...because he often does relatively simple 'gimmick' tricks, but just spices them up as if they're something new. 3/5 of his tricks in this vid are stuff you buy in a magic shop, one of them is just a basic editing trick, and one of them is an old CARNIE trick.

Well magic actually is real, but what a lot of these magicians do isn't magic, just tricks of illusion, making you think you are seeing things that they fake. Real magic uses symbols and objects that create a hidden quantum connection to real world things or situations to affect a change. An example might be a voodoo doll. It all comes down to a science that our technology isn't yet at a level to evaluate.
I would say the only one that does real magic is Yif when he transposes the insides of fruits to other fruits. Can't figure that out, cause he does it without any camera cuts, like Chris Angel has in his videos.
When I was younger I thought he was one of the best magicians ever, I used to watch everything he did... but now I kinda feel so disappointed because everything he does involves actors and camera tricks, which are extremely boring! Can't even call him a magician or an illusionist 🤷♂️
True magicians can do their tricks on the spot without needing 6 hours to create the effect. However that split in two trick would be impossible without paid actors, this is what we call TV or Movie magic which is far different than actual stage magic.

The purest magic illusions was a Penn and Teller couple of English Victorian guys who predicted the change in a persons pocket so pure and could be done if whole them from their sleep and no prep at al brilliant and pure
I saw his show once... those are some REALLY sophisticated mechanical legs then. He did the exact same trick and then after it was all done, spoke and the legs walked passed him, like it was suppose to be a joke. I was like, “wait... what the hell?!” I don’t know how or what I saw, to be honest. I know it’s not real. But I just... I’m not sure how I saw what I saw.

I think Chriss Angel is more of a performance artist and illusionist rather than a real magician. What he does still requires thousands of hours of practice to perfect the performance of the tricks, set up the tricks to make it believable, and be a compelling personality among other things. If it were easy, why aren't there more people doing what he does with the level of success he has?

Its exactly why I prefer magic involving cards, etc. Almost like traditional magic. Because it comes down to skills, not all this bullshit of splitting people in half and so on. Obviously magic isn't real but these unnecessary tricks just make it that much more fake. With card tricks and coin tricks (just small objects in general), it makes the magic seem more legit and real. Obviously it isn't but yeah

Well magic actually is real, but what a lot of these magicians do isn't magic, just tricks of illusion, making you think you are seeing things that they fake. Real magic uses symbols and objects that create a hidden quantum connection to real world things or situations to affect a change. An example might be a voodoo doll. It all comes down to a science that our technology isn't yet at a level to evaluate.
I would say the only one that does real magic is Yif when he transposes the insides of fruits to other fruits. Can't figure that out, cause he does it without any camera cuts, like Chris Angel has in his videos.

When I was younger I thought he was one of the best magicians ever, I used to watch everything he did... but now I kinda feel so disappointed because everything he does involves actors and camera tricks, which are extremely boring! Can't even call him a magician or an illusionist 🤷♂️
True magicians can do their tricks on the spot without needing 6 hours to create the effect. However that split in two trick would be impossible without paid actors, this is what we call TV or Movie magic which is far different than actual stage magic.

I saw his show once... those are some REALLY sophisticated mechanical legs then. He did the exact same trick and then after it was all done, spoke and the legs walked passed him, like it was suppose to be a joke. I was like, “wait... what the hell?!” I don’t know how or what I saw, to be honest. I know it’s not real. But I just... I’m not sure how I saw what I saw.

I think Chriss Angel is more of a performance artist and illusionist rather than a real magician. What he does still requires thousands of hours of practice to perfect the performance of the tricks, set up the tricks to make it believable, and be a compelling personality among other things. If it were easy, why aren't there more people doing what he does with the level of success he has?

Even David Blane used camera angles and cuts but pretty much did his thing as a magician
A real magician can do his illusion live in front of real audience not actors hired to go along and without edits and cuts and props and greenscreens all neatly edited with million dollar equipment and highly trained technicians
