Thank you so much for this fix. The Apple website doesn’t suggest this. In fact they suggest fixes that can’t work because they tell you to run functions on the computer that can’t be run a because the keys are frozen. I followed your 20 second regime and it works like a pro!

Try it again. You probably didn’t hold the button down long enough hold down the power button for more than 10 seconds next releases press the same button as many seconds as it takes for the Apple to pop up on your screen.

I don't know if any of you in this circumstance use the Magnet Mac plugin for organizing, but since ive upgrade to my m2 Macbook air from my 2017 MacBook Pro, its been really buggy. ive even had my Mac suggest I uninstall and stop using Magnet a few months after first using it on this machine. This is a fresh install after I thought they had offered an update, and it seems the freezing/ need for a force restart has started again.

My Mac became unresponsive and was frozen and stuck on the same screen. I kept it unplugged for 24 hours and turned it back on and it is still stuck on the same screen. It won’t let my mouse move or my keyboard or anything even being unplugged for a whole day.

So mine did exactly what you said. Once the screen comes up, the cursor is stuck in top right of screen and won’t me move it. The box for the password also has a cursor blinking for me to put password in. But it won’t let me type anything at all. Any tips?

I figured the button press on my own. Problem is these freeze ups happen every few days off and on using sleep mode and when the screen returns after you put in your password I get at least five windows pop ups.

This is not the Solution to the freezing issue! You Are Just doing force restart while the problem still remains.

@Max☯️ i had this issue over and over again. to be honest i dont remember what solved the issue. i reinstalled the OS.... did everything that was given on forums... :) maybe my problem got solved with some of the updates
