In this video we discuss your MacBook Pro running very slow! There are a number of reasons why your Apple MacBook Pro may be running slow, freezing, or even have a spinning wheel. A Mac running slow is definitely a concern for older MacBook Pro models from 2012 and 2013 but also newer gen MacBook Pro models as well. We will go over the common reasons for your Mac to be slow as well as how you could possibly fix it.
1. Not restarting your Apple MacBook Pro or not quitting applications correctly on your Mac can cause it to be slow
2. Sometimes applications can be misbehaving and cause freezing with your MacBook
3. If you’re running low on disk space this can also cause your MacBook to run slow
4. PRAM reset may assist in speeding up your Apple MacBook Pro in case it’s been slow or freezing
5. Resetting the SMC is another method to try and speed up a slow Mac

Seriously I think Apple made on purpose to make things slower intentionally, there is no way my computer has been that slow, during his prime time, and reinstalling everything fresh doesn’t solve its slowliness, there is just two words that come to minds: planned obsolescence

15 inch 16gb Ram, i7 processor and 512 ssd
I literally don’t have anything on this other than fl studio and pro tools
And last Friday my MacBook just started moving slow all of a sudden, I even wiped it and completely reset it
And nothing changes, I literally can’t understand this.. my specs plus how my MacBook is moving doesn’t make any sense

Wow ! Been having nothing but trouble with my 2015 MAC. Just did the PRAM reset. Tons of apps were open, had NO idea and I “x” ed out. So when you close them they apparently don’t really close ?? Thank you!❤️

dont you think slow mac is because of your disk getting slower ?? check your disk speed using blackmagic disk speedtest

I know Im late but my wife is using my old macbook pro 2015, its been fine but she needs to replace the battery. But for the past 2, 3 weeks she cant even watch videos online. I ve tried everything, I formatted the whole thing, I disabled everything, no extensions no 3rd party apps or anything but still chrome and firefox lags and stutters even stops while playing videos. Any ideas what might be the problem ? does battery plays a part in this ?
Yes as soon as you change the battery it will run as fast as the new one
I tried resetting the SMC but the power cable indicator light did not flicker

Anyone who still struggles after this I would recommend you replace the Sata Hard Drive Cable and place some electrical tape underneath where you lay it. I've literally just finished doing it less than 10 minutes ago and my mac is working quick as usual as apposed to waiting 10 minutes for it to log me on! I have a Macbook Pro late 2011. I recently had to have some work done on it and ended up with a new motherboard. Before that I replaced the HD to an SSD and upgraded the RAM to 16GB. I did a full factory reset on it after I got it back from the repair shop as it was running super slow. I did everything in your video and it is still running very slow. Please help.

You need new OS. Problem is, those 2012 and older laptops won't upgrade to the modern OS. Get a 2017 or newer model, sorry.
@@chad2208 it was running smooth then one night it started acting up ...got slow everytime i click i get the beach ball ..and it take time to respond i dont know why i dont have nun much on it no apps are open
Try installing Opencore Legacy Patcher some of the latest OS’s run smooth on the older unsupported Mac’s
I bought the macbook Pro m1 with 16 ram but I find it even slower than my old macbook pro 2015🤦🏻 even my macmini does everything faster. and nit only in after effects but everything I do in other software/tasks. why?

Did the PRAM method, had the restart chime play 5 times, now my Mac runs way faster and looks like the random freezes stopped. Much appreciated.
Edit: While it helped, I had to use Windows OS to get work done which runs everything fine so I'm still trying to figure out why Mac OS is slowing down so much.

i actually cant do anything cant open apps cant connect my wifi cant open anything bcuz the fckin spinning wheel i opened a game it crashed i restarted it took 8 hours then my game crashed again

@@Aaqilvlogs Hello. I've tried a lot of things to fix it I'll try my best to remember the things i did. As far as I remember I tried to reset the SMC,PRAM, and I reinstalled the macOS itself. I can't remember when it exactly came back to normal. Then some other time when my mb is already stable I was using DJay app then the freezing problem came back, i deleted DJay then it kinda fixed the problem. It may be possible that some apps are causing it to freeze.
