There's no wrong or right way. You add whatever you desire.
True I add whatever I got on hand carrots potatoes corn or even green beans I'll even throw shells in lol
It tastes good with green beans, tomatoes, onion and jalapeño
I don't even use tomatoes. I use dried chili sauce.

From where in Mexico do you come? Never seen picadillo like this. Always thought “authentic” picadillo was flavored with raisins, olives and nuts.
Every single state in Mexico does it different as well as in the US …….to each their own
There is no such thing as traditional picadillo. It depends on what region you come from.
