My first bike 35 years ago , I ended up on a lady's front lawn . 4 bikes and 35 years later I've never crashed or dropped another bike, Thank you Lord for the ability to learn.
This bike looks so good in that maroon color and that Vulcan 900 custom look that Kawasaki has kept for years now. And fuel injected. Very nice. Oh great videos guys!
I am debating between the custom and the classic. I do a good bit of highway riding and and long trip. I am trying to find the best suitable one for me. I worry about the skinny front tire compare to the wide one the classic. Please any advice you guys have would be appreciated.
i ride an 06 Vulcan 900 classic, its amazingly comfortable me being 6'3. plenty of power but i hate the plastic fenders. pretty much the entire bike is plastic except for front forks and gas tank. but i love my bike, i wont ride anything but a Kawasaki
I have a 07 LT. Only have 50,400 on it did the majority in the first couple years and then I became pick the kids up grandpa so it really limited my time. I do have a Mustang seat on it which really helps. A gell pad from Walmart and 16 hour days in the seat are no problems. Did my Iron butt ride on it, went up Pikes Peak during it (not a good idea on a timed, distance ride) . Went to Oshkosh on it. Was headed to ride on the Big Mac bridge but got rained out two days. Regularly gets 40-44 mpg and tops out about 110 mph. It'll do the ton easy but squeaking out the last 10 takes the right conditions. If you ride lots of mileage in short time, a General Atlimax 195/65-15 fits the back wheel. Went through to in about 40 thousand. Not bad for a 65 dollar tire.
I would say yea, this is a good beginner bike and the seat height is pretty low. I have a vn800 and it’s very manageable but it’s also not a weak bike, it’s a strong bike. You’d love this bike
I love my 08 900 bobber. I honestly lucked out by walking into a shop that wanted it gone. Paid 1800 and it is totally worth 2 or 3 times that. So smooth, got enough power for just me. Im 170 and I do not need any more that it offers. Super well balanced too. Just cant say enough good things. Kawasaki nailed it when they built the Vulcan.
Please explain by 170. Is that height in meters, weight in pounds or kilos, something else? I'm interested to see who these bikes fit. Seems Kawasaki really got these right.
@@Google_Does_Evil_Now and yes. It's a great bike. They did a great just...as long as you aren't real heavy and plan on having a heavy passenger. But would still work just be hard on the motor.
@@danielgagne485 it is beautiful and thank you so much for replying. Do you mind if I ask you what is the max comfortable cruising speed? Could you write it for 150 miles and still be comfortable? Are you in America? I've driven in a few states there and American roads seem to really suit these style of bikes. I'm in London and we have such tight roads in a city that was built from 1,000 years ago that we are crushed by the density of the narrow roads and so much traffic. These type of bikes are for fun outside of London but for inside London we need a little bit narrow commuters. But I think a bike like this might make London traffic more relaxing :-)
I have a 2008 Vulcan custom 900 I have had for 10 years. Looking to upgrade to the Voyager. I like my bike but I keep looking for the 6th gear that doesn’t exist.
Can you change the controls in one of those for someone with shorter legs? And when you're talking about the bike being smooth, is that the engine, or the suspension?
ken cohagen when most talk about the smoothness of the motorcycle theyre referring to the engine and the drivetrain. A smooth motorcycle has predictable power delivery when letting off the clutch and provides a comfortable ride without being high vibration or uncontrollable.
I had a Kawasaki vn800a for 22 years. It was powerful for the low end, but the engine seemed to rev high at freeway speeds. And it wasn't quite as good for long touring.
I've taken my 06 classic lt past 100 and she held steady with great weather and is actually really stable at highway speeds with moderate to higher winds. Snow, sleet, rain, and cold (Colorado weather) has never been an issue for her.
Don't confuse power with a bike gear so low it turns 4500 RPMs at 75. with a final drive ratio of 4.33 it will feel quick but the top end speeds suck the big one at 4500 rpm at 75. along with fuel mileage drops from 53 to 42. so it is only a city bike or 1500 mile a year bike it suck if you do 20,000 miles a year. Why would Kawasaki build a low gear bike when most people cruse 80 or 85 down the freeway.
Thanx for riding in the rain advice I appreciate that. I'm relatively a newbie always looking for tips from more experienced riders...that would be you,! Say I'm not a cruiser guy but I think this is a great bike it l like a real motorcycle and is not "over-styled" like the victorys, Harleys, and Indians are. Bet it sold quick!
I bought one, lot's of power, but geared way to low!.... I'm installing Barron's front and rear pullys, 34 front, 62 back, maybe get a little more power out of it, also installing blue collar bobbers full kit on it, it's gonna be my forth of July parade bike, not fast enough for the high way, I'll use the VTX for high way, and my 1584 Dyna fxdl for my quarter mile bike...
Well I'm 6'2 and my 2019 Vulcan is too small! I went to Daytona a few weeks back and that was the most uncomfortable 2.5 hours of riding I ever did! My legs cramped etc. I'm not saying he's lying but I don't share his sentiment!
Terrible brakes , needs a 6th gear for top end motorway speeds and only 52 bhp from a 900 cc motor , It gave me ass ache on any ride over 30 mins , Now changed to Honda Varadero 1000 , I know which one id choose
1lwhearty Yeah my brakes do squeak a bit, a 6th gear would be the extra kick to hold 100+. 52hp isn’t horrible for a 900 it gets up pretty fast. Yes my ass aches about 30 mins in
You can't go wrong with a Vulcan 900. Plenty of power, super easy to ride. Fits most people.
My last Bike was a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom. I really liked it!
I ride an 07 900 and it's all the bike I'll ever need. It punches well above its weight class in all categories...

You said this bike was a classic, wrong, it's a custom. Note the smaller front wheel. Custom.
This bike is a custom not a classic
+realy why yeah your right
I have a classic. It's my first bike. It really is a good first bike.

Same for me, I'm also wondering about the floor boards vs pegs. I'm currently riding a z750 and this'll be my first cruiser bike

Is the 900 a good bike for a 350 pound rider?
I feel like taking a road trip all the way up from Florida just to visit you guys. Ride all the way up, say hello, and ride all the way home.
+OnPointFirearms that would be awesome. We would probably be out to lunch. lol but would still be great
I'm in FL too. When r u gonna head up? I'm down 😜
I already went. And they were out to lunch. So, I came back. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Worth it!
That's a great idea. If it was a group of riders, or a popular route, I reckon they'd also sell a few bikes from the trip.
How does it compare to the 800?
Absolutely love my 2013 custom
This Vulcan 900...would it be a good fit for a guy that's ONLY 5'4 ?? It's a seat height thing.
I am 5'4 and i got along with it. Turned lt into a bobber with springer seat and now it's pretty perfect
Hi yes you would fit perfectly on that bike buddy ride safe bro
with your height, the bike will dwarf you and you will look ridiculous with those short arms and legs with the way the seat angles. just buy a scooter
@@automachinehead you did not just say "buy a scooter" 🤣🤣
@@enzotheone i don't get it
I'm liking the new "Words of Wisdom"! 😎
+Jeffrey Ragland thank you sir
You are a Kawasakista man. I like that. Kawa was my first bike(zx6r 00"), i think to buy vn 800 but 900 blown my mind. P.S. im not from U.S.A

Sean, you just love bikes period!
Hi , what’s better fit for tall people the 800 or the 900 ? Because I hear the 800 us better generally but may e the 900 fits talker people I’m 6,3
HI, this bike is good for a person with 1.70m?
Thanks
I am 1,63 and i own this one. You will be fine
I am trying to decide between this and a vtx1300. I am 6ft3in tall its not an easy task to find a bike I am comfortable on
Do you ever ride when it ISNT raining? Lol
But can it wheelie?
I'm suprised the seat height is 1in lower than my 800.
"THAT'S A VULCAN CUSTOM SEAN".
0:45 this is a Custom
is it good starter bike for 5'6 person?
+Galeonas yeah but you could go smaller
I love your new helmet! I may have to get myself one. Kawasaki makes awesome machines.. Love the looks of that one.
+Sherri Dalton thank you
I'm 5'6 and this was and is my first bike. Definitely a good choice.

It fits me perfectly, I never owned a cruiser till this on it's a 2010,it's cool and powerful.

Can be Sancho, Sendra, ...
Love that color. Mine is red. Last one was black. Next one will be... NOT green.
