Part Two - • The Walk - EP 19 - PT ...
I'm joined by Phil again as we explore two railways in one day. In part one we follow the Midland Railway between Pleasley Pit and Mansfield Woodhouse, visiting the destroyed Meden Valley Viaduct before curling back to look around the 1784 Pleasley Vale Mills in Nottinghamshire.
In part two we explore the little remains of the Great Northern Railway between Pleasley and Shirebrook.

obviously loved this video most because as a young man i worked at pleasely colliery, and also pleasely vale was a place that i visited many many times. the place where you found the coal grid down pleasley vale, this definately was its purpose, for the coal used to land actually on the floor after sliding down from the cliff, i used to use this (the coal heap) as a short cut (jumping down onto it to the floor). the large chimney used to be part of the boiler house, as children my group were very kindly asked if we wanted to look around by a staff member! great days ... also love all of your other videos .. brilliant work.

I used to play down there when I was a kid walked over the viaduct on top of the ledge did stupid things then

Is it just me, or does the red mist descend whenever you come across a former viaduct 😡 I guess it's cheaper to demolish it than to maintain it for the foreseeable. Never knew Pleasley mill existed, it's huge! Great video, like you say, not seen that side of the tracks/trail before.

I had no idea it was there. Reckon there could be more remains to see in the winter. The overgrowth makes it quite hard to find.
