Alan, I'm not a gas engineer or a trainee but as a home owner and end user, it is important we understand the importance of getting gas appliances maintained by competent qualified people. You highlight the dangers and give great advice. We can make sure that the engineers looking at our gas appliances are competent by watching your videos as they set out what gas engineers should be doing! Thanks for passing on your knowledge.

Another quality video Allen, one of the industry good guys. Any chance your training guys can do a video on standing,working, inlet and burner pressures, come across a lot of trainees and they get very confused over the different types thanks mate
I've done loads of them seals before and more so since the TB come out, couple a week now, but the seal goes due to time mostly, i did one the other day with -8mb FP and the seal had still gone, as you say 5years or sooner if it fails the test

Some of those install video's quite terrifying, the problem is there's too many cowboys out there and their dealing with peoples lives and too be honest they just don't care as you can tell from the quality of the workmanship

Richard hi Richard Allen Hart Did a video on an ideal logic boiler installation recently and I think about halfway through the video he explains help people make a mistake and install these flues incorrectly, If you watch the video you’ll see what I mean
Surely a manufacturer supplier seal should survive for the life of the boiler if fitted correctly and undisturbed, and if this is a known fault then the manufacturer should be responsible, If my mechanic removed the cylinder head on my car to check the gasket, that gasket would have to be replaced on every service. Costing hundreds of pounds every year? Plumbers seem to use the term "service" to mean fault find. If I paid for a service on my car I would expect any seal that is distributed to be replaced within the price of said service, Yes that length of flue needs supporting but the expensive flue extensions should come with clamps. I really like this channel but you must agree, most gas Safe engineers charge around £50 per gas Safe inspection, just to say it is safe. If there is any doubt in the safety they isolate the supply, they still charge the same and cut your gas of. You started this video with a list of faults, you didn't show how you resolved any defects. Apart from pumping up an expansion vessel. I know you say these videos are for ACS training but how about a video of what you should expect from a service, what it should cost, what we can do ourselves? (I'm not paying £40 an hour for you to clip a wire back and fit a couple of brackets) The last service on my boiler took 10 minutes and cost me £120 and they didn't even clean my magnetic filter. Would you use an old fibre washer on a tap connector? So why would you not replace a flue seal when disturbed? ACS like corgi is open to abuse by con men, Please know I do not think you are anything but honest and trustworthy. In the case of plumbers it seems the majority give the honest few a bad name.

I have done quite a few videos on boiler servicing, this video isn’t really aimed at that, it’s to try and help the guys and gals that are training to be a plumber or gas engineer. How do you classify that on the logics, where they are showing no signs of distress and are sealed correctly but just not cut to length?
Richard The black rubber collar has to fit correctly over the flu outlet
It states in the manual
Yes that's right but would you class it as AR or ncs, we have lots of new builds with logics in and most have at least a few inches of white showing
