Physical Agility Test-Marietta Police Department

This is an example of the new Physical Agility Test (PAT) as designed by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Council. This PAT was implemented in the early Spring of 2021 and is now required for all individuals seeking to enter a law enforcement academy anywhere in the state of Georgia. The test must be successfully completed within two minutes and six seconds.

I think I’d rather do this than the 1 1/2 mile run like my department does. Do matter the age, everyone has to do it in 17:30. I think the time should change according to age.

All four years of High School to make the basketball team, we had to be able to run 1.5 miles in less than 10 minutes and we started practice with that. If you didn't make that time then you had to continue until you ran 2 miles and then practice started. You did that everyday of tryouts until you made the 1.5 mile in 10 minutes. If you never made it, you never made the team.
