There are 2 mixes of this song. One is sharp and tightly produced, but there is another that is grittier and sloppier and rocks soooo hard. I'd love to compare the two. It really shows how Much a producer can change a song, or even the mix. The simple choices you make.
Will be seeing them perform this today. This video looks great...obviously shot on film as you can tell by the color and light (and date). If this had a 4k scan, it would look awesome. Seeing that this is from 2002 blows my mind.
I never saw this video till now! These guys have a lot of memories for me in my heart and I get some songwriting inspiration from them. In fact, I respected them so much I never wanted to learn this song for fear it would dilute their greatness. I guess it's time to get over that :)
ATDI perfect combination of control and chaos. Sparta represent the controlled rhythm section and TMV the chaos layered atop, they both lack something without each other for me personally.
time fucking flies. i remember being a little ass kid seeing this on mtv or the internet. loved it. got into atdi and mv later and never knew the connections until a few years in. wild.
I've only heard so many of Sparta's songs but this one really reminded me of ATDI. anyone know of any other songs that bring them back to the ATDI days?
I cannot fucking wrap my head around how this video doesn't have even half a million views after 8 years. What in the actual fuck is wrong with this world?
Dude I love Quicksand so much. I got to see them in Atlanta this past summer. I've heard of Snapcase but don't think I've listened, I'll check them out!
honestly guys, this music is so amazing. Just because something is "experimental" doesn't mean that its better than other things. What really makes music amazing, is when a person puts their heart and soul into it. That's how Sparta is. However, that's just how thing are for me (if there's not enough heart in the music I usually get bored). For me TMV is mostly experimental and not enough heart so kinda bores me
@Licardo7 i like tons of songs from 2001 lol its just that this one sounds sorta older than those. like the whole style. Its like how 'black veil brides' sounds old. Its just the style
Really sorry to bust in, but is this the version of the song that's on the album? I remember trying to find it a long time ago and hearing some demo. I think this is the album version but it's been so long since I heard it I can't be sure. Also, I find this RUclips conversation to be very refreshing and respectful and I think it's the first time I saw a civilized debate on this site!
Sparta is one of the most underrated bands of all time. Killer music and insane live shows
Massively underrated band
Yes very
At The Drive In, Sparta and Mars Volta.... I love them all!
Hell yeah!
fuck yeah whos here with this man?
Hard agree. All three have their own vibe and they were all perfect for different parts of my life.

@@nintendogamer5472 that’s exactly it though. It’s the beauty in the music theory chaos that makes me love Mars. But to each their own of course.
You can really tell he made a large part of ATDI's sound

Loved this record back in high school. Sparta, dredg, and glassjaw tour was quite a thrill.
I swear that tour was Snow-Core but I could be crazy. I remember that tour. Saw them all in NYC. Any Glassjaw show I could get to, I got to.
God that must've been ridiculous.
I have been trying to remember a song that I couldn't put my finger on for ten years, and you just helped me figure it out, "of the room" by dredg
Wow what a tour

Some were from a band called At the Drive In. Some came here, some went to “The Mars Volta”. Give those two a listen.
Always loved this song!

how cool is it that these guys are back together and making another record. there is a god
