The mission also involves getting them off the ship and onto the shore. Thus the amphibious assault, or beach assault. Attacking from the sea.
Marines aren't the only ones that can do amphibious assaults, but it's part of the core mission of the Marine Corps. Plus, being a part of the Department of the Navy, Marines and Sailors are more closely related than Marines and Soldiers. They are not soldiers. They are Marines. Marines are distinguished by their mission, their training, their history, their uniform and their esprit de corps. You would not call a sailor a soldier, an airman a soldier, and certainly you should not call a Marine a soldier. Try to tell a marine that he/she is a shoulder. Lemme know what happens

Drê I was paralyzed from my waist down! I suffered a spinal cord injury L2 level, I work hard and kept believing in GOD and myself! After (7) years today I'm back walking!!! I couldn't do it without GOD Mercy & His Grace!!!!!!!
That must have been quite a let down. The media certainly like to sensationalize a headline. A simple description like 'Paraplegic Marine is able stand and walk again with the assistance of an amazing new technology' would have been more appropriate.
I hope you will one day find your miracle. But most of all I hope you are able to enjoy the life you have despite your injuries.

a1seus because he was in the Marine Corps, not the Army...it's all about the title. For instance, a sheriff's deputy works for the sheriff's office, so his title would be "deputy" it would not be "officer" -- the same way a federal agent would be addressed as "special agent." They're all cops though, just like a US Army SOLDIER and a Marine are both servicemen or servicewomen.
a1seus I'm not going to debate this with you. I don't care what the Webster's Dictionary says. Walk up to any US Marine in uniform and refer to him/her as a soldier and I guarantee they'll correct you, as you were corrected by at least three individuals here.
"Soldier" is a generic term. Of course he is a soldier.
By the way,he mentioned that the brace is called -rewalk-.it should have been mentioned that the rewalk is an Israeli invention.
