      Belive me when i say these bikes pull, there the lightest of the sport bikes at 425 to 430lbs. I belive they have a a couple higher numbers on torque also when stock. Its the best overall bike for all around street use. It wasnt designed to be a drag bike.

  • @GT3.00
    @GT3.00 4 года назад +23

    To anyone not understanding the HP numbers. That´s 169 WHEEL HORSE POWER. Stock is 153. Stock HP is 189. Which means this bike gained 16hp, totalling in 205hp. This bike is also 15-20+lbs lighter than all the other liter bikes except the Ducati V4/v4s which costs 10k more and has way more reliability issues.

    • @benyaboss
      @benyaboss 4 года назад +1

      You're right about wheel horsepower, but not about the crank number. 189 is the crank #, which does not go up to 205. It does not go up at all. The wheel hp went up by removing the throttle restriction in the upper revs.

    • @Popsm0ke
      @Popsm0ke 2 года назад

      @@benyaboss .....for the measured hp to increase the hp at the crank also was increased. The only way for hp at the wheel to increase and not increase at the crank, rolling resistance must be lessened. As in a lighter wheel and tire combo a lighter chain or a non o- ring chain or ceramic wheel bearings. The loss of hp at the wheel as opposed to the crank is what is known as parasitic losses.

    • @benyaboss
      @benyaboss 2 года назад

      @@Popsm0ke The point is, the bike is still 189 at the crank. The wheel hp increase was achieved by letting the bike breathe and letting the throttle stay open up top. With drivetrain losses, it's still impossible to achieve the crank # at the wheel.The only way to increase real engine hp is by doing engine work, heads, porting, etc.

    • @Popsm0ke
      @Popsm0ke 2 года назад +4

      @@benyaboss ....you can most definitely increase hp from tuning. If you don't change anything to reduce rolling resistance and you increase hp at the wheel then you have increased hp at the crank. the reason to dyno tune anything is to optimize your afr. I don't know where you get your data but it's wrong. If your bike is too rich or lean it's not going to make the most hp. If you run lightweight oil and your clutches don't slip then guess what you might see an increase in hp, if you put in a good flowing air filter and you increase the fuel to get the optimal afr, well guess what more hp. You do not need engine work to make more power what do think nitrous does, it adds more oxygen to the fuel mixture and like magic more hp at the crank , at the wheel and mph at the track

    • @benyaboss

    the reason the numbers were so low is because he didn't disable the traction/lift control. Thats why the check engine light was on. What alot of people in the comments seem to be forgetting is every dyno reads different. Just because you or your buddy made 177 in one state at a low altitude, doesnt mean it will make the same power on another dyno at higher altitude. My H2 SX/SE made 208hp last summer (its higher now with a intercooler and added timing), but still trapped 145mph in the 1/4 mile which is on par with other peoples bikes making 220-230hp.

      @ChaseN194 3 года назад

      @@MEEK5 you can change the level of engine braking your sc77(2017+ fireblade) has. However the way honda does this from the factory is with limiting the fuel in certain ways depending on what power map you are on. A lot of the USA restrictions are woven into that.
      Or just delete the USA ecu and flash the UK stock ecu info onto the USA ecu. Due to emissions regulations honda was forced to de-tune the bhp number using software in order to make the bike sellable in the states. So our bikes DID NOT come with 189bhp, they in fact came with 165bhp, which in turn means after you flash it and do an exhaust system you'll be lucky to make 165-170RWHP. But if you had a UK ecu without the USA restrictions, you would be tuning with a base line of 189bhp instead of 165.

    • @davidjames1684
      @davidjames1684 4 года назад

      @Moore Mafia - Going fast in a straight line is not the essence of sport bike motorcycling. It is said that most street riders cannot even use the full capability of a 600cc sportbike. Too much power is actually bad. The manufacturers have the power ramped up for a reason, because it is easier to control the bike. Simply giving the bike full power at any RPM is not really giving the bike what it needs to be the most controllable. A great feature a 1000cc sportbike should have is "600 mode", where the ECU will "detune" the engine to behave more like a 600. That way on a track, you can throttle out of the turns sooner without having to worry about breaking the rear end loose like you would worry about on a full power 1000cc sportbike. Even better than that would be a switch or possibly a lean angle sensor that makes the bike more like a 600 when it is leaned over, then when it straightens out, goes back to 1000cc power for the straightaways. That would really be "slick". Even better would be a "middle" setting for when you are partially leaned over. Call it "750" mode. That way when you straighten the bike out, it doesn't feel like a 600 with a shot of nitrous oxide at about 50% boost. It will be more progressive.

    • @brianmathew09
      @brianmathew09 4 года назад

      @@davidjames1684 You do Understand that this guy,and what he does in the channel is all about badassary with no restrictions,,what you suggest in the 'essence' of the sportbike world is a totally different animal. Drag racing requires no 'big brother' oversite to 'help' us regulate the power. ABS',traction control, drive by wire to ecm, lean sensors going to ecm control is great for class racing,,but way to much big brother setting the rules.

    • @davidjames1684
      @davidjames1684 4 года назад

      @brianmathew09 - They probably do it for liability reasons. So some rookie rider doesn't loop it out in first gear. I used to have a 2004 ZX-10R and I "geared " it WAY down (from 17-39 sprockets to 18-50). That was so I could get at the power without having to go 100 MPH and so that I could shortshift all 6 gears in traffic at "normal" speeds.
      If I got my ECU flashed from this guy, I would want some way to be able to get it back to stock somehow for comparison. For example, some type of switch to select A (stock) or B (unrestricted). This kinda reminds me of my old Suzuki SV1000S with a TRE (Timing Retard Eliminator) I installed. I could immediately feel a difference in the lower gears (especially 1st), but the bike "thought" it was always in 5th gear. That was the tradeoff. It used the 5th gear "map" in all the gears.
      Someday electric bikes will "rule" and we wont have to put up with all of this tuning stuff. I think an electric bike charged from solar panels will be the future. Imagine riding without having to pay for any fuel, you would just be harnessing the sun. Where is the "baby brother" of the Lightning LS-218? I would be happy with a LS-109 (top speed 109 instead of 218). I don't need to go 218 MPH but maybe the guy on this channel would. If i want to go fast I get in a plane. 700+ MPH groundspeed with a tailwind flying East in the jetstream. Even supersonic (groundspeed) is possible withOUT a sonic boom in the planes local airspeed is subsonic.

    • @davidjames1684
      @davidjames1684 4 года назад

      @brianmathew09 - you should use the term lean angle sensor so as not to confuse it with lean sensor meaning the engine is running lean (not enough fuel).

    its lighter than other models/brands Liter bikes out there so its pretty great Powet to weight ratio
    but my only problem with hondas is
    too many regualtions on them
    hard to work on myself
    tuning and upgrades are hard to find

    they cause badbacks and fatigue :/
