100 ft dirt bike jump landed onto Jeep wrangler hood/bonnet during a desert free ride motocross session in the Qatar dunes.
My mate hit a big dune jump and due to lack of communication between the boys at the top of the dune nobody saw the jeep coming until he was airborne, he landed on the hood but thankfully rode away like a boss.
An unbelievable escape from what could of been a deadly dune wreck/crash

The rear suspension on that bike is dialed. The impact is practically nonexistent on film. Jeep's now worth more because it has convincingly traveled outside of a girl's apartment complex and Target parking lot.

Being a Jeep owner (which doesn't really matter), just thank God the biker is okay. That's the most important thing. Money can buy a new hood but a new life... Priceless. Glad you're okay.

Yeah, I checked and you're right. I saw the video on my phone and it looked like it. Still, looks like it's just a fiberglass hardtop, they aren't that strong.

It wouldn't have happened if the Jeep wasn't driving the backside of a dune. It's pretty much a rule to ride on top of or straight up and down dunes.

I tried it once as a tip from a local race mechanic to help prevent wisky wristing it, rode it twice before going back to the twister.
No it is nothing new it gives more control over the bike probably if he had a normal throttle it would be a different story.

The young man on the dirt bike, was more concerned about financial liability than anything else. That whole scene is chaotic. As far as recovery. That hit was nothing for a bike like that, any1 saying different never has or can't ride.

Its my mate he used to ride quads and just prefers a thumb throttle, bad habits die hard. He actually has less grip because he cant wrap his thumb around the grip and use the throttle at the same time.

I was about to ask the same thing. I'm used to it from riding snowmobiles, but it would still be weird on a bike of any kind...especially a dirt bike where I want to be able to hang on tight.

Need a spotter next time
Dude, it's your job to be looking around making sure your mates are safe, not just takin pretty pictures. Wouldn't have been hard to walk to the edge of the dune and wave "STOP STOP STOP" once the jeeps were headed your way. A fraction of a second later and the tire would have ripped through that fabric top and killed the driver.
Jeep has a hard top. You can see the lines running down the length of it that is typical of hard tops for that body style Jeep. That said, the hardtops are made of fiberglass so it still wouldn't have been pretty.
Or you know, tire through the windshield, dude on the bike hits the vehicle earlier and slams into the bonnet, plenty of other ways someone could have died right there.
Never seen a landing quite like that!
