So sad to think flooding is happening yet again so soon. A lot of heartache. Prayers and best wishes to everyone for the strength and motivation to yet again start the recovery process. Thank you for sharing❤🙏🙂
The next project should be building a boat!!! 😂. 8 1/2" of rain in St. Johnsbury in 6 hours and 5-6 " in Lyndonville was definitely overwhelming! So much devastation! Praying for all who have experienced so much damage and loss!
@@kenskarpentryI hope you're really considering a boat build project. Maybe a little 12 footer or so. A project that can show the basics of boat hull building. Make put out a poll to see if others like me would like to see it.
I appreciate your garage videos. I’ve watched nearly all of them. I learned a lot about the process and they have given me the confidence to build my own 12x24 garage. I poured the slab, framed, roofed, and painted it. Very satisfying!
Thanks for sharing that, Ken. I love drone footage, even when it's of a horrible situation for those affected, but it often takes years. I know first hand, having gone through two floods, losing nearly everything (house, contents, shop, truck...) the second time. Looking forward to that Murphy bed build! 😁
Excellent footage. Lumnah Acres got the 8.5" of rain a few days ago. Flooding is so damaging in every way. God be with you all and may recovery go well.
I PRAYED FOR YOU AFTER SEEING THE NEWS. GOD BLESS AND PROTECT YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES. SE MICHIGAN 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 We are having 6 days of rain this week. We're fine.
I actually heard on national news about your situation! Praying for everyone's safety! We had a year like you're having a decade or so ago!! 1 storm after the other... the terrain of coulees and ravines was forever ravaged, along with roads. The one storm was 17" overnight!! It was parked o overhead for hours. Stay safe!
Thanks for sharing this video Ken. The news only shows so much but with private residents like you we get to see and hear things at the micro level and how it affects those more personably. God bless for speedy recovery.
Oh my! How sad that all that work has to be done…so much damage! I can appreciate what everyone is going through. Though I live in Texas, I was raised in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area. Missouri River frequently overflowed its banks. A lot of frustration. Hang in there.
Thanks for the info Ken. We are heading up to our mountain vacation spot at Smugglers Notch next week. Hopefully the notch is going to be open or it will add another hour to our drive to circle around the mountain. I feel really bad for all those people affected. It must be so devastating to relive these events over and over again.
I will be praying for your town and those that got additional flood damage. My little town of Tulsa, OK {over 1 million} was flooded many times. Now all over town is flood water detention ponds. These looked like normal soccer fields that have been lowered many feet to hold overflow flood waters. It took about ten years to get all of them build, but it stopped flooding. Of course, the kids got soccer fields, so it was a win win situation. Take care my friend.
My prayers for everyone that suffered. Unbelievable is the only thought I can think of. In 1954, my parents shared that two hurricanes hit the New England and my dad had to hold me up because the water was up to his neck. They were living in Dover New Hampshire at that time. Praying
There is only one word that comes to mind, "WOW!" Imagine the grief that the lower levels are experiencing. Thank you for sharing the video with us. Take care.
Yikes Ken, we had a heck of a downpour here in central Pa, but I'm not aware of any flooding locally🤞🏻🤞🏻I'm sure you guys are not done digging out from the last storm. All the best to you, your family, your town, and state! On a lighter note .... it looks like you are making an Adirondack chair .... nice! Take care my friend✌🏻👣
rain, rain ... go away! You do a fantastic job with your drone coverage. Also so interesting. I like the audio that you add. Hope it all recedes well and people get back normal as soon as possible. So much damage done to certain homes. So sad to think about when they're going through. God bless
Really sorry Ken for you and all your neighbours an̈d friends who have been washed out with this big storm . Water sure can do a lot of damage in a shot time . That amount of rain 8 half inch is a lot and water goes where it wants no matter what you try to stop or prevent . It sure will take weeks if not more and some things and places will unfortunately not recover all the best for you folks hope you all look out for each other
Wow! We are in southern Quebec not far from Vermont border. We had no rain at all here - yet. Cloudy and windy today though. Hoping things clear up soon for you all
Stay strong Ken... I can appreciate how nerve wracking this must be. My daughter & Granddaughter live in St J, haven't got word from them just yet. I think all of the CLOUD SEEDING going on around the world plays a part in these weird weather events... All the best, Bill...❤
God bless the Vermonters that were affected. I lived and worked in and near Brattleboro when Irene hit us. It was devastating but we pulled through without and real problems. I sure miss it up there. Good luck
My heart is just aching. I’ve lived in Vermont all my life 50 years and I’ve never ever seen anything like this my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone, especially those who lost their homes and everything they own, but so grateful that everybody is safe and think we are supposed to get part of hurricane Debbie I pray that doesn’t happen because I don’t think Vermont can take anymore😢 thank you for your video. It gives great insight much really happening in our community.
That had to be a lot of rain to flood that bad. Thank goodness the town was spared You must consider your location a lucky spot , compared to others ! . Good luck in the clean up
Thank you Ken, great footage from the drone and your voice over. You all are in our prayers. I have to wonder if your inquires for the tiny house you are building has gone up or is it already sold?
and we cant buy a drop of rain down here in the mid atlantic. Everything is brown down here! Glad you and yours are safe and sound. devastating for your community.
Sad to see fellow America's having flooding doesn't seem to long ago Kentucky had serious flooding. Hopely your Senators are getting help for you there in Vermont.
We've had a couple bad flood events in the past 20 years here in the Catskills and its amazing how much damage can occur from the rain and rivers. I am very thankful (like you) that we live up on a hill.
These types of flash flooding will happen more and more often now. You may want to think about ways to organize or design your property for more water events to help prevent water damage due to heavy rains, hail and floods. Praying for all of those affected by this latest event. Keep us posted, Ken. Hard times ahead in so many ways. Thanks for the video drone footage.
Ken, thank you for the video. As you know ,I have been a subscriber for a long time .as I was looking for videos to build a garage . In East Barnet Vermont. The weather has not been good to us the last 2 years. I did get a price on the lumber , our driveway was damaged 3 times with the heavy rain, and our road wiped out. But to see the damag in person is on real.😢
Hopefully nature takes a break with the heavy rain events and the favorite restaurant can repair and open again, along with all the others that are affected by this event.
I can't imagine how you must feel with all that rain. It has to be very depressing. We had a tornado touchdown about eight miles from here, and one person was killed. We are about 15 miles East of Syracuse, N.Y.
@@kenskarpentry when people see videos like this, they see the water, the mud, buildings moved. You know, what is SEEN. But I'm not sure they truly feel how devastating it is to the people involved. If you have been victim to flooding, fire, tornado you FEEL it. You feel it for them too, knowing all that you went through, they are now living the same nightmare. It's hard. It hits your very soul. It hurts. It seems now with climate change, every day there's a new flood, a new fire, a new tornado, hurricane somewhere. The more it happens, the more people affected. He escaped Paradise in his car, with his dog, and $2000. At 72, now retired from years of hard work and all you have left is your car and dog is hard enough, but having people judge him, he said really hurt the most. Now more people facing total loss, more people understand. We should all be more compassionate because we too are one event away from being him.
I am so sorry about the flooding in Vermont. I was backpacking on the Long Trail last summer when you were flooded on July 9th into the 10th. If rained over ten inches that night. I was camped out about a mile below Mansfield. I am lucky to be alive, some were not do fortunate. It's hard to believe you were hit again on the exact same day a year later. I wish you all the best, it's been a tough run of weather for sure. Thanks for sharing. Just terrible is all I can say.
Glad you are safe. How 3" of rain is so different from other areas that get the same amount of rain. We had 3" on sunday in 90 minutes with no problems at all. Water is so powerful. The terrain makes all the difference. Have you given up on your trains for the summer ?
Is there to much over building causing the water run off? I know in New Jersey where I am not only do we need to worry about the ocean storms and tides but now all of the streams are now turning into torrent rivers because of the massive building and impermeable land coverage. of parking lots. I’m old 60’s I remember storms always but so much building has occurred in the last 50 years the water has nowhere to go.
