The white ink one really hit home. My body rejects it so hard and it always burns when it is used. I had an allergic reaction to the white ink when it was used over a large area, that then had to be gone back over at a later date, with other colors to try and cover the scarring that happened. Tattoo artist still insists on using it, though at a much smaller amount. My last tattoo, my artist took mercy upon me, and used a numbing spray before putting the white ink in, and I have to say that it was a MAJOR game changer. Told her she could keep adding the little dots of white, if the spray was used first, lol.
Hiya! I’m actually the woman who made the white in’’ tiktok. 🥰 I can confirm a numbing spray would not affect the tattoo (unlike numbing cream can sometimes). I have had clients reject white ink too due to their skin being tired. Another option could be to do the whites in a separate session, personally I wouldn’t charge for that and count it as a touch up. 🥰 Hope this helps!
Yeah, the anchor TikTok was kinda funny, but it also kinda hurt.... I just don't know how I feel about it honestly... I have a "refuse to sink" anchor tattoo. I got it after the stillbirth of my son. It was my mantra during the hospital stay. It helped me to not "sink" although everything in my grieving heart told me to drown, I was the anchor refusing to do, what I "had" to do.
I felt exactly the same about that video. I got mine after I’d spent 4 weeks in hospital after a (failed) ankle replacement and my parents also died of Covid within 3 days of each other and I missed their last days and their funeral. I got it so anytime I felt myself ‘sinking’ I’d give myself a boot up the ass and keep going!!

Absolutely relating to the "Stand Still" - Thing when putting on the stencil 😂 for me it's the "just stand naturally" - instantly forgets how to human 🙈

Got my very first tattoo last month and told my artist every disorder i have and all medications i was on Even if i thought they are irrelevant And turns out i did need to stop taking some of my meds in advance, and generally as embarrassing as it was, it made the actual tattooing alot better because we both knew what we were in for Prepared for the worst, got the very best in the end
I totally get what you mean about standing still while getting a stencil 😭😂 It totally feels like you’re on a boat or a balancing board Also; getting my hand tattooed in a few days and I’ve been watching your hand tattoo vlogs to help with the nerves 😂😂
I always forget how to stand normally when getting stencilled!! My first tattoo was a full moon with two crescent moons either side on my inner right ankle, a few months later I got a sun in a similar design on my inner left ankle and my artist who is a good friend of mine (even before she started her apprenticeship) made one of her colleagues hold the back of my calves so she could get the stencil straight and matching the full moon on my other ankle without my fidgeting, took five attempts and about 20 mins
I always think if a tattoo is worth the money to you and you love the design/artist then you should ✨treat yourself✨ what else do you spend your money on that's that permanent?!
I REALLY want to know where that last guy got those rainbow eyeglass frames from, they are such fire. Also, I'd love to see you tattoo some fake skin, I think that would make for a super fun video.
i can't imagine lip blushes changing the outcome of lipsticks. the lip blush is below the skin like a regular tattoo, isn't it? and the lipstick is still total coverage? i guess it could change something with less coverage like a lip gloss though

Yes! I thought I was the only one who felt like my body refused to stay still when a stencil is being applied! Even worse when my artist free hand draws... 😞
Nope, not alone, I suddenly forget how to stand normally the second I’m told to - I go from standing fine to super awkward and aware of how I look like a broken puppet

Update on Dads Pinterest tattoo: He got the whole thing, covered most of the back of his calf, and yes, it had the Pinterest popular “not all who wander are lost” quote on it. It was a Viking tree of life type tattoo. I was really worried it was someone’s personal design cause it was pretty specific. We did end up finding out that the artist had sold the design to Adobe so it was one of the better outcomes we could have asked for. The exasperation was real 😅

Tattoos in the US are really only expensive in expensive states and large populated areas. I know several shops who claim to have a by the hour rate but they only say that because people are less likely to argue a set price but then will only charge you for how big the tattoo is/the color of it as well. It’s really just about finding the shop for you. Much love!! ❤️
As an older woman who over tweezed in the 90s, I’ve debated tattooing them. However, also as an older woman, I’m finding my brows are graying, too. 🙄 So I’m now torn. I have discovered dying them a light brown does cover the gray and darkens the small ones so they show up better.
Do you use just regular box dye? I really want mine microbladed but I'd have to wait until my eyebrow piercings are fully healed first. Well, obviously to do anything to my brows first lol
@@Kakmanmartinez666 I bought Just for men Beards in light brown. Lol I use a small angled eye shadow brush (like you use for applying eyeshadow as a liner or brow pomade). There are 2 tubes and a little tray. I mix up a tiny bit of both and apply it that way. I did discover my hair stylist dyes brows as well, but I’m cheap. Hahaha
Your videos help me be patient for my future tattoos (yes they are planned ahead and I've put a lot of thought into them lol), anyways thanks for the content☺
It looks like $200 is the base price for the first artists work. It's pricey, without a doubt; but my artist just raised his prices to $300 an hour so I get it (he's also switched his focus to black and grey portrait/realism work that's a lot larger than what I usually get). Obviously the first artist is very talented, and I've known artists just as talented that charge less; so just research and see.

The ghost (egg shell?) on the skateboard is my favorite ♡
Okay but a rubber ducky with "refuse to sink" sounds adorable
The first artist is based in Australia, so our dollar is more expensive than the UK or US. $200 AUD is around $145 USD for reference.
Side note - tattoos are generally very expensive here, so $200 is pretty standard as a minimum.
oh that makes way more sense, im australian as well and yeah i've got a small writing tattoo that was 200aud, idk why tattoos in australia are so much ore expensive but ya know i love the art lol
$200 USD is a standard minimum in larger cities in California too
I’m Canadian and a lot of artists around me charge $200 an hour so it’s pretty comparable to the prices she was quoting.
That's too expensive it should be around $150 min charge and that's for 1hrs worth of time, so she could of got all those 5min peices done. $200 BUCKS for script is an insult lol.
@@Mimiroo but that's a 5 min job she had done.
People dont usually use those, it affects the ink
@Draalttom didn't seem to affect mine at all. It healed beautifully. Just made the torture of having something I usually can't handle, bearable.
@@razorxseraphim149 I'm happy gor you but that's a cummon occurence
I thought the white hurt so bad on my tattoo because it was last part of the session.
Just got my first tattoo on Saturday! I'm so happy that I can watch your videos while I'm healing from it 😊
@@JP-et9hv I got two mushrooms and a cicada shell in a neotrad style! It's really beautiful and I'm doing my best not to touch it
Haha this last Saturday I just got my fourth! Your tattoo sounds really cool! I’m so happy for you!
"This is why you consult the group chat, dad!" 😂😂had me dyin
Yeah, the anchor TikTok was kinda funny, but it also kinda hurt.... I just don't know how I feel about it honestly...
I have a "refuse to sink" anchor tattoo. I got it after the stillbirth of my son. It was my mantra during the hospital stay. It helped me to not "sink" although everything in my grieving heart told me to drown, I was the anchor refusing to do, what I "had" to do.
Yeah, I've always thought of it as a reminder to not let our pain or burdens be take us down with them. I'm very sorry for your loss, by the way. ❤️
That first one had ridiculous prices. $500 for a single vine? I got three photorealistic roses on my shoulder for $300.
Apparently they are in Australia so the conversion makes them seem more expensive than they are
I need to know what the Pinterest tattoo was! The curiosity is driving me mad! CONSULT THE GROUP CHAT, DAD!
Love seeing your videos, Lauren! Keep up the good work! 😊
@@Gigzbonk nah, I meant the one the dad got. Lauren definitely referenced her pinup, though.
@@saintblackangel Oh lol! Yeah I would love to know what that one was.
Same. Evil to leave us hanging like this. Maybe until someone finds it on TikTok, we can assume that Dad is Refusing to Sink.
If you search 'Mrs_Gendered dad' the original tiktok comes up and it's in the replies!
@@palindromee I don't have TikTok and they won't let me see past the first few videos! 😂 But at least others can see, so thank you! 😊
The idea of a rubber ducky tattoo sounds so adorable tho
My day has been saved! I'm so ready for my first tattoo on the 30th.
I have one on the 30th as well!! I hope yours goes goodd! What are you getting??? You ain't gotta answer that lol
Omg good luck! What are you getting
Id also like to know what you're getting and what placement? :)
Enjoy it, you’ll get addicted to it for sure
@@savvyrfuzz1368 A sword!
That dude was making an oil painting of the tattoo artist tattooing him 10/10
Absolutely relating to the "Stand Still" - Thing when putting on the stencil 😂 for me it's the "just stand naturally" - instantly forgets how to human 🙈
Kewpie dolls have been such a cool collectors thing within the community. When pound of flesh started making theirs it was huge since original Kewpie dolls are an antique and rare to find!
I love hearing you talk about all your rose tattoos and your love for them ahaha. I love roses and rose tattooes, as “cliché” and “overdone” as everyone says they are. They’re classic and beautiful in a timeless sort of way! ❤️
My artist and I have a great relationship. I have 7 tattoos and 5 are traditional Hawai'ian in honor of my culture. I draw out my design and he helps refine it. Just got my chest done, love it.
Got my very first tattoo last month and told my artist every disorder i have and all medications i was on
Even if i thought they are irrelevant
And turns out i did need to stop taking some of my meds in advance, and generally as embarrassing as it was, it made the actual tattooing alot better because we both knew what we were in for
Prepared for the worst, got the very best in the end
YES I thought it was only me who felt like a wiggle monster/super unstable when the artist is putting the stencil on 😂😂
I love this series! It helps the tattoo crave
Ha! That titanic comment made me think "Just keep swimming! Just keep swimming" 🐟🐠🎶" Lol.
I totally get what you mean about standing still while getting a stencil 😭😂 It totally feels like you’re on a boat or a balancing board
Also; getting my hand tattooed in a few days and I’ve been watching your hand tattoo vlogs to help with the nerves 😂😂
Lol, your comment was copied by a bot,
Did you realise they were painting the tattoo artist doing the tattoo? Love your vids by the way!!x
Haha I was waiting for her to say her sister in law would cross-stitch the artist & tattoo shop!
So glad you posted!! Gives me some extra time to put off working out 😂😂
Biiiig mood 😂
i like the idea of bringing my sketchbook to a session
My comfort series and favourite place to be. 🥺 Thank you so much for the upload, love. 💙
Thank you for being here 💖
I always forget how to stand normally when getting stencilled!!
100%!!
I REALLY want to know where that last guy got those rainbow eyeglass frames from, they are such fire. Also, I'd love to see you tattoo some fake skin, I think that would make for a super fun video.
I like I've seen them on Zenni?
i can't imagine lip blushes changing the outcome of lipsticks. the lip blush is below the skin like a regular tattoo, isn't it? and the lipstick is still total coverage? i guess it could change something with less coverage like a lip gloss though
Some people have a hard time getting full coverage from lipsticks cuz of their lips' pigmentation, a few swipes will do the trick tho!
it looked like he was painting the tattoo artist doing his tattoo........Also, Anchors don't just sink, they um.....ANCHOR lol...the thingies that only sink are actually called sinkers...
My chest piece was inspired by the AWESOME picture of this girls that I saw. So I was like, I want a Skull and flowers, NOT symmetrical. My tattoo artist created something BEAUTIFUL and you would never know what the inspiration came from.
i love you so much lauren you're like the sweet and caring older sister/ mother figure i always wanted you're literally my comfort channel and you make me feel so safe so thank you
@@sleeplessinscotland2578 🤣
haha they are like, "stand up straight and comfortably" like my posture is terrible and all of a sudden my body is just swaying, i can never tell if they notice or not lol
Literally just got my first tattoo today (a little demon fella on my arm) - your channel defo gave me so much confidence to just go get it done :)))
the eyebrow tattoo prank one would have made me cry.
I'm always really happy and excited when I see that you've uploaded a new video. It always puts a smile on a my face.
Love your eyeliner in this vid by the way!
A refuse to sink anchor is basically you're refusing to be an anchor and sink, you're refusing to go with the flow and let it pull you down
Tattoos in the US are really only expensive in expensive states and large populated areas.
My older cousin got her eyebrows tattoo and they look so weird now. 😐
I’d go with micoblading. I got mine done and it’s been a year since and they still look awesome.
I love that the woman is painting in general but it’s even more wholesome that she is painting a portrait of her tattoo artist tattooing her
So I know that the Anchor tattoo is more of a Navy symbol, those who have spent some time and it's frowned upon if you go to Bootcamp with an anchor tattoo like that's for later in your service XD
I dated this chick for about 3 years.
And one day I said to her. Your eyebrows are always so perfect, even during covid
That’s when I found out after three years of being up close that she had that cosmetic tattoo eyebrows lol
They looked amazing
I'm getting a 3 hour tattoo on my arm this Friday of a bird perched on a coffee cup. I'm excited but also terrified. The longest I've ever sat for a tattoo is 45min. Wish me luck, guys lol
The first ten minutes suck and then the last 15-20, in my opinion. And then there’s always that one spot that’s just ouch. But most of the tattoo process is fairly uneventful once you settle into it.
So yeah, you‘ll make it! Keeping my fingers crossed! 💜
my first tattoo was 2 and a half hours, it was fine until the last 20-30 minutes, almost didn't make it. I'm getting one soon that could take up to 3 and a half hours so hopefully it doesn't or this placement doesn't hurt too much. I wish you luck, and also that its in a spot that doesn't hurt too bad ♥
@@SparkleGeorgy it ended up needing 4 hours of work, and I lasted 2.5 hours. Haha the shading.... it nearly killed me...
@@heatherbland4551 right? I got halfway through this tattoo of 4 hours and I was squirming so much I had to tap out. Hoping I can make it through my second session to get it finished haha
Omg painting while getting tattooed is SUCH A GOOD IDEA!!! Whenever I get my legs done I’m gonna do that!
My old roommate had one of those anchor tattoos. Never made sense to me
AGHHH I love designing my own tattoos!! I’ve been working on a clown tattoos that I wanna get done at some point hahaha, I got a matching sunflower I designed with my dad and it’s just funnn
Yeah pricing confuses me so much ... I got a 5" full colour traditional piece for 250 dollars (CAD), but I have a 8" piece that is only linework for 300. It'll be shaded, no colour, for another 300. Then I learned today that one of my fave artists charges 1000 for a 7"-8" piece 😵
They are more expensive in Australia, $200 American dollars is about $280 Australian.
I'm so hyped by my newest tattoo. Its a realistic crawfish inspired by the Ludo song "Lake Pontchartrain" with a fleur-de-lis and some water color water behind. Next month I'm finally getting the spooky scorpion!
your videos are curbing my need to get another tattoo before i get my chest piece that i’m getting done at the end of april! saving up the money for it but ooooh the urge to go to my studio’s walk in days….
that last one though 😅
seems like a great family. LOVE the glasses 🌈
Not sure where those tattoo's were done at but they were a lot more expensive than they should have been for size/quality.
All four of my tats (1.5"x2" for all) cost $80 each, so YIKES for those prices. God bless the Midwest.
02:10 He really put the dirty case right on top of the clingwrap huh... And 02:20 is why you use a stencil for something symmetrical like a heart. There's a reason we didn't get to see it up close I bet! I had to laugh when you said you weren't sure if he was a professional :P
11:56 I believe that's a ghost, not an eggshell :')
LOVE your vids! My favorite tattoo channel to watch!
Thank you so much 💖
If I had the money, I would absolutely pay a studio or just various artists to tattoo one of those kewpie dolls. It would be such a cool art piece! 🎨🖼
My knees always lock up during the stencil 💀 last time, I got cold sweats and tunnel vision and almost passed out then I sat down for the tattoo and I was fine LMAO
Oh wow! The tik tok at around the 6 minute mark is the tattoo shop you reacted to on Tattoo Rescue! Or whatever that show was that was about the guy fixing up other peoples tattoo shops lol.
Now that painter has two works of art out of the process!
Thank you for your videos! They inspired me to finally take the plunge and get my first tattoo. It really stung but wasn’t too terrible. It’s a larger Cygnus constellation (the swan) on my left forearm. Keep up the lovely work!
I think it was meant to be a little ghost on a skateboard but maybe it was an eggshell! Either way, adorable. I was not expecting that either. 😂
The anchor one is SO TRUE OMG
Also the last one
I want to get a chunky pinup tattoo of myself in one of my cosplays but I feel like people would think I'm weird bc it's me lmao. I'm still trying to build up a patch work sleeve LMAO. I looked into body positive tattoos as well
In relation to silly little tattoos, I want my first tattoo to be a little smiley face and it’s just like a reminder to be positive
Ah yaaaayyyy, I thought there wasnt going to be one when I didn't see a video yesterday 💖💖
Just wanted to say your eyeliner is everything!! 🧡
Maaan that horror tatoo is crazy sick! Love it.
I got really lucky. My artist said he charged $150 an hour. He quoted me quoted 2.5 hrs and told me it would be about $350 before we even started. However, he went really in depth on the shading and it ended up taking 4 hrs of actual tattooing.
Still only got charged $350 (about 6x3.5 inches on my ribs). I am really grateful to him
I've been waiting for this !!
omg i just noticed the tapestry you have in the background, i have the same one!!
I just had my first tattoo on my thigh and my legs would not stop twitching for the first 2 hours. I kept apologizing for moving but my artist said it was just reflex and not to worry about it.
I always feel like I’m swaying when the artist is marking up and putting the stencil on lol x
The full leg tattoo 🤭👏👏👏👏
Getting my second tattoo the 29th, a matching one with my little brother. Weren't planning on getting a matching one but saw somethinh with alot of meaning to the both of us and knew we just had to get it tattoed
Omg! The artist that did the Cutie Doll did the tattoo I have on my thigh in November 2021! She was awesome.
Damn lmao I got huge script that covers the whole inside of my forearm for 200, and that's INCLUDING the tip 😂😂 no wonder that person canceled, no offense to the artist. She must live in a great area.
Deadass want a cute lil rubber duck with “I refuse to sink” now 😂😂😂
omg the eyebrow one is so good 🤣🤣
i usually crochet during my tattoo appointments, have done it for my last 4 leg pieces
13:00 See I love horror movies and think they're amazing! The tattoos especially are always rockin' but I would never ask my artist to do that on me personally. I love and appreciate them on everyone else rock on guys! Do that crap :)
YAY this always makes my day
I just got a spider with a top hat and bow tie, definitely a silly tattoo like the ghost on the skateboard
That horror sleeve! 😍😍😍😍
