Talking about the 1'st vid, I've got the traditional rose done on my elbow about 4 weeks ago and my grandma said that it's the best looking tatoo she had ever seen 🥺❤️(normally as a catholic elderly lady she is against of tatoos)
My grandma said the same thing about my newest peice. She said she’d take away the skull but love sir otherwise. (She has always been kinda annoyed when her grandchildren have gotten tattoos)
my mom used to hate tattoos so much but over the past 20 years her view point has changed and she works for the church and shes 74 and just got her first tattoo of a rose and cross on her ankle. we went together she has a much deeper respect for the process now and wants another lol
My grandmother has Alzheimer and can’t remember who I am. However she will always tell me how beautiful my tattoos look several times a day ! It makes me so happy every time ✨
Oof. I combed portfolios online for hours and fell in love with the work of this artist. He rejected my tattoo. :( I was so bummed. About a week later, this woman came into work and had the most beautiful tattoos. I asked where she got them done and she said her husband did them. It was the same guy and I felt the pain all over again.
if you be a little less specific/detialed with your tattoo idea and leave more up to the Artist they are more likely to want to book you. especially if you like their work, just use one of their photos for reference and say “something like this but ____” 💜 good luck gettin your tattoo!
Hannya masks are a traditional Japanese symbol you can't change them much the same with traditional Japanese tattooing there is a system to everything making sense and flowing.
My most recent tattooist uses a battery operated machine. She seems to find it very freeing and has never had any problems doing 7-8hr sessions on me with no detectable loss of power
I literally wanted this tattoo by a tattoo artist for so long, and I got on the waiting list: 18 months!!! Of course they never even got back to me. And then I found another artist I like better, asked for the waiting list and they said: Can you come in next week?😄 🥺 yes Getting it done in a couple days, wish me luck!! Update: Best tattoo after, solid artist, cried after seeing it and the recovery is amazing.
hannya masks are traditional imagery. Like, how many people have eagle chest tattoos? There is power in that imagery and that’s why it gets used a lot.
I had an artist once tell me he wasn’t comfortable doing realism and then I explained to him I just wanted an outline so it worked out. And respect to him for upfront telling me he couldn’t do realism
Tattoo at 4:00 minutes it's sid from ice age lol that was uper hilarious and it's actually very close to the original inscription in the movies. I laughed out loud, it's adorable (even if I don't condone the behaviour!)
Yes I've had a tattoo idea rejected by an artist before. I think the main reason the artist didn't take it was placement. So I sat on the idea for months and "shopped around" before I found another artist whose work I liked more. When I presented the idea again I changed the placement and the new artist was game! I just had it done today and I'm so glad I was rejected at first lol
The grandma was super wholesome and even more considering this is Japan where some public places still bans you to enter vicinity for tattooed ppl (has been much lessen for foreigner since Olympic from what I heard but not sure)
Why do I find it so adorable that the tattoo artist gave the lady an ice cream for being good? Also, your makeup, dark hair and neck tattoo are such a stunning look!
A thing about grandparents. My father absolutely HATES that i got tattooed but has accepted it. My grandma however, said how lovely my owl tattoo looks, she said "oh that's grandma's owl!" (She loves owls and i did get it to remind of her) Just immediately got the meaning. Later she said that she'd love to get an orchid tattooed on her back but she's too scared to get it 🥺
Great series! Couple of FYI's: 1. Tattoo machine on the plane is battery operated (my artist uses one - really quiet!) 2. Pretty sure stomach hair grows towards the belly button (at least mine does), so they were probably pulling in exactly the wrong direction
Talking about the artist booking; this happened to me. I woke up to send an email at midnight, got rejected, and then walked in to see if my second artist had any availability. The second artist had a cancellation the day I walked in, and was able to book me for my first tattoo less than two weeks later on the night of the eclipse. I am not unconvinced magic was at work, but I'm not going to complain because I love my tattoo!
I went to a professional recently (beautiful portfolio, all the paper towels, gloves for days, my own ink caps, the sanitation WORKS) Came away with a chefs kiss crow tattoo, and I thought I had an allergic reaction to saniderm cause I was using it for the first time. Like 5 days later after keeping a close eye on it, whabam super swelling and ER visit. (Bless antibiotics, we're all good now) but like I'm AMAZED there aren't more infection stories going around cause it was my 8th tattoo so it's not like I'm completely new here with healing a tattoo. Like you could blink too hard at a tattoo and it could get infected, like how are there not more horror stories?!
My 7th tattoo was a nightmare healing! Really similar situation to yours but tried hussle butter for the first time and had an awful allergic reaction. The entire tattoo blistered up and I was so worried itd heal wonky, luckily after going back to my usual routine it healed well and turned out great! But that month was itchy and painful...
I’ve not yet had a tattoo healing issue, touch wood, but I can imagine how scary that was! Not just because it was an infection, but the risk of it ruining such a beautiful tattoo :( hope you healed well
I've been rejected for a tattoo. The first time the artist's books opened she said it was a great idea but she was now fully booked. Then when her books opened again she suggested someone else to do it. She was clearly trying to be nice but I just wish she was honest the first time so I didn't spend time waiting for her books to open again. She apparently goes through the emails on a first come first served basis and I'd emailed the minute they opened so I should have cottoned on that she didn't want to do it. It is heartbreaking being rejected but if a tattoo artist's books fill quickly and they're popular then I 100% believe in picking the work they want to do. I'm a graphic designer and my best work is the work that I enjoy, it can be creatively draining otherwise and I imagine it's quite similar for a tattoo artist. There are so many amazing artists out there and someone is going to love your idea.
09:21 honestly, working in retail is almost same. People be like "I need a shirt" "what kind of shirt?" "i don't know, anything is fine", but then no matter what you show them, nothing they see is fine 🤷🏼♀️
Love the grandma! And it must really suck having your idea rejected by an artist. In that situation I think the best thing would be to try to remember that if they found it uninspiring, they would have struggled to do it justice anyway. No fault on either side; not every project is a good fit for every artist, there's no harm in asking, and it's better all round if they're honest that it's not for them.
My usual shop referred me to another guy who does amazing portraits for a hyper realistic barn owl tattoo I want and I'm so scared he's gonna reject my idea because it's not a portrait, but he's the only hyper realism artist in my area. Also his waiting list is like 6 months
I’ve gotten more tattoo applications rejected then I’ve had accepted and it’s silly but it always really hurts. I spend a lot of time researching artists for each specific tattoo and when I find someone I really like I get set on their style so when they so “no” it’s always an adjustment. The up side to all of this, for anyone else that this happens to, when you finally find an artist that’s really excited about your idea you feel so much more grateful and connected to them. It makes the experience that much more special. (Got to always look for the bright side! lol)
Your "how to heal a sternum tattoo" popped up before this one and you looked like a different person with no hand/neck tattoos 😱 Also, love this series so much ❤️
Firstly: Love your Content! Watching from germany! Secondly: I love my grandparents so much, but my grandmother once said that she feels provocated just by the fact, that i am tattooed. She hates that she cannot look at me and don't see any tattoos. Last week I asked her if she wanted to see my new tat and all she said was "nah, i dont care anyway. I dont like tattoos" sooo... yeah... like I said, i love them, but this just makes me sad
Re: the plane tattoo: in the past five years or so wireless battery packs for tattoo machines have been getting more and more popular! I have a machine that is exclusively wireless, actually--the FK Irons Flux--and it's awesome. I used to wrap my cord around everything and knock things over with it constantly, but not any more! Edit: also that appears to be the same machine I have or its sibling, the Exo.
as an aside some planes do have outlets under the seat so even if it wasn’t a wireless one it is still possible for them to plug it in on certain planes
@@acelovesdiyschristopher7023 the cartridges that you use with a rotary machine like that honestly don't really even look much like needles, so it wouldn't surprise me if the TSA couldn't tell what they were to begin with. As for the shampoo, I have no answer, except for "fuck the TSA."
Plane tattoo video- I’ve recently gotten a tattoo buy the “new wireless tattoo machine “. It’s very similar. You can have multiple battery’s to change in and out ( most last 6-8 hours each). This lets the artist focus on the art rather than the cord and the art work. I thought it was less pain full than the “old fashion “ weighted machines. 🤷🏼♀️
As for being rejected by an artist, I can see both sides too. I am currently scoping out people for my sleeves and I have a few artists in mind for each one so I have backups if that happens.
I love the Sid the Sloth from Ice Age tattoo on the foot bottom (second video). The roughness fits the character very well. I like the whoopsie daisy. I like the idea of giving an artist free range.
That gramma was so wholesome! I want to give her a hug! And my second skin was a pain in my butt to remove and I was in the shower and pulled it down. It was on the back of my arm, so that could have been a problem. I also ended up with a bunch of little bumps all over one side. I'm guessing it was a reaction to the second skin, since I do have an adhesive allergy.
I have a chest tattoo that goes across my collar bone. I did it in 2 sessions, 1st without any numbing cream. I was crying and convulsing and ended up having a seizure. 2nd with numbing cream was smooth sailing. USE THE NUMBING
I have a large chest tattoo and it wasn’t a problem for me without numbing cream, though the spray that my artist used to clean it before a break did have a numbing agent in it (he used it once halfway in, roughly 3 hours in) and it didn’t make much of a difference to me. I’m just saying this to say, use the numbing cream if you want to! But if you think you can manage, you’ll probably be fine too. There’s just a few minor issues with creams and the like (it can change the texture of the skin and the pain will also come back tenfold once it wears off) so I just wanted to put it out there!
@@ghoultooth Definitely! I didnt notice a change in the texture but the pain did hit hard after. But by then i was at home where i could have cold compresses, pain meds, and my anti seizure meds. Of couse if someone wants to go without numbing its cool, but i dont want people to feel afraid to use it.
I LOOVVEEE your eyes today!! They’re done so well!! And I can’t stand this TikTok trend of ripping your saniderm off as quickly as possible 😭😭 People have torn their skin off
The one on the plane I’m guessing it’s a wireless machine, I got tattooed with one recently and it was weird, it was so quiet as well compared to a traditional style machine. So many people are using that audio about how you can’t just pick up a tattoo machine and like….I haven’t seen a single one where the tattoos looked amazing so it’s a weird flex. Reminds me of those wipe reveals when they build it up and then wipe and the tattoo is bad 😂
Weird physical health issues this week. Pain, tiredness. Also trying to find a new place to live. It’s hard. Great video as always! 😊 Them ripping of the second skin ouch 😣. Do it in the shower! Did this for my last tattoo was this week. Remembered all of the advice for this
Watching that neck tat as I lay on the couch dead from 4 hours on my ribs today. Thinking to myself I just how much do I really want to keep getting everything I have planned lol
Love your vids, just chilling after having a full day session with Jack Peppiette today got peonies on my shoulders, thought you would share in my excitement! (may have also started process of booking in for a sleeve by him also).. also booked in with jody Dawber and and Sadee glover this Saturday for knee/leg fillers this week is a very expensive week haha!
Yeah that’s why I was super confused on the call out, simply because Japanese tattoos have a very strict system In place in terms of traditionalism and folk imagery. I’d give the person calling out the benefit of the doubt and say they don’t know that with Japanese traditionalism you cant change much considering the rules in place.
With your blackout back tattoo, maybe you could get everything blacked out except the lines that you want to be white, and then if there are areas of old tattoo that need lightened, you could get white over those bits or something? Like the lines would be made up of negative space?
Its so nice to see an older Japanese person be accepting of tattoos! In Japan getting tattoos is really taboo. Tattooed people are not allowed in many places or you have to cover the tattoos (like in Gyms, pools, clubs, beaches)
I do want to add on that this is mainly because of the Yakuza being a very present influence in Japan so having a lot of tattoos can be associated with the Yakuza. Not to mention that Japan is very ostracising against anyone who looks ‘different’.
Tattoo on a plane sounds like a horrible idea for numerous reasons... except the air. The air is basically completely changed every 3 minutes + HEPA filters. Now the germs on the seats + tray tables and the fact our bodies react differently to things at high altitude...
20:03 that design with how the claws are on wither side of her face is absolutely gorgeous edit: the finished tattoo is my favorite tattoo I've ever seen gosh
Every time I watch your videos I go " I really want to get the back of my hand tattooed" and then I have the other side of my brain going "No. No you don't." and the two sides just bicker with each other over why I should or shouldn't and "Hey I have cover-up make-up if need be!" and "But it's the back of your hand!" or "Ok, but what would you get?" "I don't know, maybe a smiling cute Avocado riding on that Dragon Fly from one of her videos" .....oh God now it's in my head...
Omg I was just like this a few years ago. I got music notes with stars with a Galaxy like background with colors of purple, green and blues. It goes from my hand to my almost where my arm bends. Don’t regret it one bit. It’s extremely beautiful and I got lots of compliments from it. Was totally worth it🌸♥️.

3:15 omggg that’s the owner of the shop I go to for my tattoos!!! Such a talented crew
Your makeup is EVERYTHING 🥰💟
This eyeshadow look! 😍👏🏼👏🏼
Had Covid all week, feeling rough. Love your videos and your eye makeup is stunning 💜
Oh noooo! Hope you feel much better soon 💖
Sending my thoughts and prayers. Covid sucks!
@@roxassora2706 thankyou 🙂
@@treacletatts thankyou 🙂💜
No but I wish I could do that with my grandparents 😭❤️ so so cute
I actually love that daisy tattoo 💚
THE FIRST ONE I can’t go on oh god my little heart
I think that whoopsie daisy tat is perfect. Fits my sense of humour absolutely.
Awweee the grandma tattoo moment was so cute.
Your make up is perfection! Absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you !! 💖
Loving your eyeshadow so unicorny
Had a bad day, finally a good distraction to save at least the last bit of my evening 💕
Ah so sorry to hear you had a bad day! I hope tomorrow is better for you 💖
Tattoo on a plane sounds like a horrible idea for numerous reasons... except the air. The air is basically completely changed every 3 minutes + HEPA filters. Now the germs on the seats + tray tables and the fact our bodies react differently to things at high altitude...
I was thinking surely the high altitude affects bleeding? Seems like a bad idea even if you COULD get a sterile environment

I am actually surprised that even after 38 videos, your FYP is still not showing you any tattoo content 😂
What is FYP?
I love seeing Tiktoks I tagged her in!
