Our circuit (Ohio Music Education Association) actually doesn’t to “competition” at state finals. You just get a rating! But. Hopefulky we’ll do well! It’s the first time we’ve qualified in 4 years. Small band problems. But. We’ll see!
I'm honestly shocked that the parking lot at Pencader Plaza was that empty on a Saturday... it's usually a madhouse in there. I'm glad the UD drumline looks like they're having fun on a game day. I recently went back to see the band at my alma mater, and they are frigging intense... it was like walking the lot at a drum corps event.
It's been 20 years since I marched in UD drumline. Extremely happy to hear all the beats I love are still around. Adam Ant holds a special place in my heart.
I’m a sophomore in high school and band is really fun so I never want to leave it and it’s nice knowing that there is still opportunities for me to play in the marching band even after I graduate college
Hey EMC! I live in northern Delaware and its crazy to see you performing and hanging out at UD, as I've been there my whole life! I'm applying as a Music Ed major for the upcoming fall semester in 2023 and I'm super excited. Good to see one of your favorite RUclipsrs hanging around your hometown!
My high school played that same arrangement for I love rock and roll for our parade, got hit with nostalgia for a bit when I heard that. This was my last year marching, too😢
The alumni band should call themselves "The A Team," Because the snare drummer at 5:15 is giving me Hannibal Smith vibes. He loves it when a band comes together...
He eats human brains? And absorbs their power, using it to become the best, most knowledgeable public speaker/professor on earth? Oh wait....that's Hannibal Lecture.
Hey Eric! You have been a huge inspiration for me and in high school I’m going to join the indoor percussion ensemble and the tenors in their marching band!
I'm so honored on his behalf! Wishing you the best of luck with that, on his behalf and my behalf. I believe in you! That's on your dad's behalf. Don't forget to wash behind your ears, on behalf of your mom. I'd like to thank Eric, my dad, my mom and the random guy on YT who channeled them all. That was on your behalf. You're ready!
My band actually went there this year all the way from maryland, it was so cool meeting other bass 4s from the different states and playing as a group of 1000
I actually got to do something sorta similar when my step son & daughter was in middle school band! With me being out of high school for several years, it was quite fun to have had the opportunity to work with (and show em a lil' sump'in sump'in) these kids!
Boy that took me back. I haven't gone back for the alumni band at U of Iowa, but that reminded me of our game days. I was playing there when Kevlar heads were just becoming a thing.
7:05 the cadwnce they started platong, our drumline plays the same one and I love it. I got so exited when tgey started the cluckung in tume. Idk what ita called, but o tgink its calked swaws, thats what we call it.
my high school started playing juice and false hype last marching band season and its so fun hearing the songs played with a giant battery. We had two tenors, two snares, 3 basses and 2 cymbals LMAO
Aww, "in the wild" Eric really is shy and awkward 🤩. Somehow, this makes me like you even more 😂. Guess I can relate 🤷🏾♀️. But seriously, the line playing your cadences??? That was freaking amazing! You were absolutely glowing with pride...as you should be!
I do alumni band every other year. We used to do pre-game, now we just blend in with the current band near the end of half-time. You should go to the game this year if Delaware and Delaware State are on each other's schedule
in Scotland our marching bands are pipe bands and tenor drums are just a single drum, pipe bands are always really serious too. i would love to play in this sort of band if I was in America and was not seriously disabled. not being able to use my hands properly and being in a wheelchair is a bit of a barrier
yooooo this video is my favorite video of yours. My bass tech is warren. he was the one on bottom bass im sure u know him. this was sick. and yes i march for cab calloway HS marching band and i think we will win cuz good.
Hey EMC, just wanted to say in the spirit of you going back to school, I’m not sure how close you 2 are but does my high school band teacher Ron Lagrone ring a bell? Had a marine band sergeant come to our class today, and in a conversation with Lagrone he mentioned he had a RUclipsr friend who was in the drummer marine corps, and when I showed him your channel, he said it was you.
@@OliverParis2024 I didn't get to see you guys perform sadly. We didn't arrive until after because we were the second or third to last band to perform in prelims
Is your schools' marching band going to win at finals this/next weekend?
yes obviously

We won it last weekend 💪
Hearing the drumline play your cadences was a jaw-dropping moment
bro they always play them, those are Ud's official cadences. and he wrote them so he cool for dat
Imagine you hear that and think someone’s watching an EMC video over the PA speakers lol

So who the heck did you get to follow you around and record everything? Looked like it was a lot of fun!
As someone in the UDMB I thought I recognized you!

relatable. I'm 5 foot six 120 and carry the quads at my school. Theres a lot of pain involved, but its always fun
What? No ULTIMATE TENOR marching?!?!?! come on man, that's one of the best things about alumni band... coming back and flexing on the actives :D

I’ve participated in UD band day every time for the 2 past years and it’s absolutely beautiful, I felt chills from hearing the drum major’s voice
I played the cowbell tree both years (a broken half of a ride stand with 3-4 cowbells attached to it)

Our school cadence sounds very similar to the one you wrote actually 🤠
4:00 they made the EMC outro into a real life cadence 🤓
That's because Eric wrote it, first for the High School where he was teaching, then enhanced it when he was a grad student at University of Delaware!
My school performs it
Always preferred that to jig 2
@@theclimbingchef anything is better than that
Eric wrote it specifically for our school UD and it's been used ever since at every game day and parade.
when they played the intro to your vids in the parking lot:👌🏻
When you guys played Y'all ready for this, that was cool.
