Our circuit (Ohio Music Education Association) actually doesn’t to “competition” at state finals. You just get a rating! But. Hopefulky we’ll do well! It’s the first time we’ve qualified in 4 years. Small band problems. But. We’ll see!

I'm honestly shocked that the parking lot at Pencader Plaza was that empty on a Saturday... it's usually a madhouse in there. I'm glad the UD drumline looks like they're having fun on a game day. I recently went back to see the band at my alma mater, and they are frigging intense... it was like walking the lot at a drum corps event.

It's been 20 years since I marched in UD drumline. Extremely happy to hear all the beats I love are still around. Adam Ant holds a special place in my heart.

I’m a sophomore in high school and band is really fun so I never want to leave it and it’s nice knowing that there is still opportunities for me to play in the marching band even after I graduate college

my high school started playing juice and false hype last marching band season and its so fun hearing the songs played with a giant battery. We had two tenors, two snares, 3 basses and 2 cymbals LMAO

My band actually went there this year all the way from maryland, it was so cool meeting other bass 4s from the different states and playing as a group of 1000

I actually got to do something sorta similar when my step son & daughter was in middle school band! With me being out of high school for several years, it was quite fun to have had the opportunity to work with (and show em a lil' sump'in sump'in) these kids!
Makes me miss this and drumming, I'll try to go to my alma mater's home coming more often

I’ve participated in UD band day every time for the 2 past years and it’s absolutely beautiful, I felt chills from hearing the drum major’s voice
I played the cowbell tree both years (a broken half of a ride stand with 3-4 cowbells attached to it)
UDMB, I was in there and I was shocked that I was able to play in the same band!!

in Scotland our marching bands are pipe bands and tenor drums are just a single drum, pipe bands are always really serious too. i would love to play in this sort of band if I was in America and was not seriously disabled. not being able to use my hands properly and being in a wheelchair is a bit of a barrier

You should check out ohio states drumline and band in person sometime. They are a signed mapex group too so you can get some of that stuff going.

I had alumni come to my high school for the 100th year of the band and our oldest alumni graduated in 1976

I know we strive for perfection when we March, but honestly I only really remember things that went wrong, because mostly it was funny.

The carriers are just built different. At my High School we have thicker carriers, as in they have more meat on their bones, the carriers these schools have looks like just the bone, they work the same, just built different. And as a fellow percussionist, I'm proud to say this band is fucking awesome!
I'm practicing the 40 essential rudiments for next year, my sophomore year for the only set of tenor drums, wish me luck all of my fellow percussionists!
