What a great Sydney band through the eighties. I'm sure if Fred was not severely injured in 1989 they would have made many more great tracks. I was saddened to hear of Tony's death from MND only a few months ago. A great band, the first to really embrace the era of electronic music in Australia. Thanks for the music guys and RIP Tony, keep dancing ❤️🙏
Not sure who the female vocalist is here.......but Naomi Starr sang backing vocals for a few of their other songs. She was married to drummer Chad Wackerman. Sadly she passed away from cancer in 2015, I think. R.I.P. Naomi and thank you for the beauty of your voice.
My memory is a bit weak but I was a studio engineer at the time and I know around that time their backup singer was called Toni mort live but I believe on the recording the girl singing the backing vocals name was Jenny Andrew’s I used both singers in sessions I even got Jenny to say “can you give me something I can croon too” for fun
Yeah they played at pubs, but wouldn't class them as 'pub rock' really, not what most normies think of when mentioning old Aussie rock. Many old punk bands like the Damned who these days charge $90 a ticket or more pub rockish than the Maccas.
Great. Funky. Sexy. Proud to be an Aussie with great stuff like this. Only wish the rest of the world could hear some of our greatest acts that were big here but not overseas.........
Best of the 80s never to die
All the latest music is crap
WHO AGREES?
1000%. Still listening to the best Aussie music ever.....
Such a bangin' groove. I miss when clubs played music like this on a weekend night & the whole floor was movin'.

I remember buying their album on vinyl, I think it got me into dance music when I was 17-18, just in time for the 90s.
38 years later and I still LOVE this song!
Such a great Australian band
Shithouse
Fred Lonergan is nothing but intense.I think he knows his stuff ,the music always matches his tone of voice. And a good match.

What a shame she was never credited anywhere. The female vocals are what makes this song. RIP Naomi.
Her voice was just magic. I'm so sad she passed, a loss.

Somehow whilst web surfing, I saw the name Machinations, and had a memory of this song, which led me to this. Takes me back.
genius.
Great to see them back touring in 2024.
Can here the purple ones influence in this, he and the funky music were big at the time. even the rock pigs kinda liked it.
Fred Lonergan is awesome

Deni Hines is the dancer😊
Don't think so.
I don't think so, either. Sorry - looks nothing like her.
She would have been 15 or 16 at the time
