I got one of their albums on vinyl and listened to it recently. I remembered Got no say in it, but I was actually shocked at the high quality of the music. I agree with you, that they were one of those bands which didn't get proper recognition for their talent 💗🌵

Women were just more feminine back then. In this era feminists put down femininty as being weak and think they need to be masculine. But femininty has its own real power and the mystery and allure of it will make men do almost anything to be around it and appreciate it.

They were. One could see many bands for a few dollar. I saw INXS at the Chevron Hotel $4, Aussie Crawl at Selinas $6, ACDC for $2 at Marana hall Hurstville in 1975( we did not pay as we snuck in from the side exit door). All gone replaced by mindless poker machines and other forms of gambling, no live entertainment anymore.

Looking at the video, it’s obvious why they weren’t a huge international success.
Fred Loneragan looks like a high-functioning autistic, an Aspie, to me.
I have no doubt about it.
He displays characteristics only an Aspie would recognise.
His style would be called ‘quirky’.
He writes like a poet, not a pop star.
Plus, he isn’t sexy in a conventional way.
Which I think was probably the real issue.
And he wears the subtle marks of the abused and street-weary.
In other words, he’s a lot like me.

Does anybody have the proper lyrics to this song?
Because the internet is total tripe....they say the words are this:
    My Heart's on Fire
    - Machinations
When something's living well you can't say die
You feel like laughing but you start to cry
    I don't know how and I don't know why
    I don't have many and I don't have much
In fact I don't have any but I got enough
Cause I know those eyes and I know that touch
    I don't have many and I don't have much
But oh darling my heart's on fire
Oh darling my heart's on fire
Oh darling my heart's on fire
    For you
Well I don't know where and I don't know when
But I know we'll be lovers again
I'll see you someday before the end
    I don't know where and I don't know when
But oh darling my heart's on fire
Oh darling my heart's on fire
Oh darling my heart's on fire
    For you
'Cause only love songs will break your heart
'Cause only love songs will break your heart
'Cause only love songs will break your heart
Oh darlin' my hearts on fire
Oh darlin' my hearts on fire
Oh darlin' my hearts on fire
Oh darlin' my hearts on fire
Oh darlin' my hearts on fire
Oh darlin' my hearts on fire
