STYD and Supermarket Sweep were my after school shows as a little kid! I loved to see contestants make absolute fools of themselves on a national scale and I would love to see BOTH Sweep and Shop 'Til You Drop relaunched on CBS or ABC in daytime!
I love this show.
Can't wait for Debt. On Shop til You Drop they also tended to poke fun at Dee a lot during the stunts. That was definitely one of my favorite parts

Thanks for the reality check at 2:10. I always wondered why they had audience members sitting at tables on top of the set. Never in a million years would I have guessed "elevated food court," but I admit it makes sense. Especially if they're trying to emulate the Mall of America!
I haven't heard anyone talk about this show, offline or on. It's nice to see a completely different kind of show from my childhood reviewed on RUclips!

When I watched the original run of "Shop 'til You Drop" when I was little, one interesting feature of the first season were the gag prizes that was just like a klunk on "Treasure Hunt". The gag prizes only lasted for the first season.
I loved it when it was The New Shop til You Drop
What's funny is that I ONLY remember the "warehouse" version. I've never seen the original "mall" version.
Shop 'Til You Drop was definitely an awesome show!
5:49 You left out the fact that the target total was $5000 on the 1993 one hour holiday special.
7:04 I doubt it; all the original items were usually priced below $500.

Awesome Review. It kind of reminds me of a Nick Show, but for adults. Of course the preliminary rounds mimic Double Dare, but even the beginning to the bonus round, where Pat says “You’ve earned the right” reminds me of LOTHT, and the mall kind of looks like an adult version of the kids temple in LOTHT. And there is the Supermarket Sweep esc- rotation during the trivia. All around a good review about a creative show that took other elements from successful shows and made it their own.
(By the way, how did you manage to tie-in Pyramid to this episode?)

In all honesty, I highly doubt they would win by keeping all of the items in the final round. Just looking at the default items, I can tell you they would not add up to the totals needed. In some cases, just the item alone encouraged exchanging. Yes, some were just that cheap.
Why is it called "5 Minute Reviews" if the video is 20 minutes long?

I watched both Supermarket Sweep and STYD every day as a kid-until the warehouse version. I was bored after that.
Sigh...out of all the Nickelodeon game shows of the 90s, why does nobody talk about Get the Picture?

This reminds me of the Disney game show, Mad Libs. I guess you are finished with kids' game shows, right? If you know, Disney channel did a couple of game shows, including one weird one called "Off the Wall".
Are you just not doing the big game show reviews anymore?
He actually mentioned in his Behind the Scenes episode he is continuing his bigger story-related episodes. Just a matter of delays is all.

Mark also hosted the California Lottery's "Make Me a Millionaire" (this show replaced "The Big Spin").
He also had a talk show in the 90's.

What annoyed me the most about STYD '03 was the CONSTANT plugs JD would do before every category was played. Terrible pun after terrible pun. Yuck.
Though I can see why you put the Pyramid opening in there...the warehouse version's game names were similar to that of Pyramid.
So...what happened to gameshow reviewer? I'm not against the 5 minute reviews and many themes of.. but this is just ridiculous. Waited a very long time to see another edition of the journey to see what happened after Tempest One was blown up. Maybe you should start alternating between the 4 little shows you have on your channel and start doing more uploads.
Believe me, I want to get the next big Game Show Reviewer episode out. I was really hoping to get it out this year infact, but due to how little time I've had this year, I've been unable to even work on the smaller shows recently. This have eased a bit as of very recent, but it'll take me a bit to get back into the swing of things where I can seriously get the big GSR episode back in production.
