    I love that you edit yourself and say what you didn't like about how it turned out, so it can be better next time.

      Yes, thank you... for me it is about the learning process and sometimes that comes in the form of noticing what did not come out as planned and then doing something different next time and yes I see it as helpful for others to show when it happens even to me ✌🏻🙏🥳😎

      MrTieDye: You had to move the t-shirt into the screen shot a number of times with this video. More than usual. Can I recommend putting a square of another color on the table to help. Probably some tape a slightly lighter color than the table, maybe a light gray would work, so as not to disrupt the viewers concentration. Your videos are wonderful. I’m so grateful.

      I use Fiber Reactive Procion Mx Dyes. I buy most of mine from Dharma Trading Company, these are Professional Dyes and are long lasting. They work on natural fibers such as Cotton, Rayon, Bamboo, Hemp, Linen, and Silk.
      Here is a video on how to mix the dyes: ruclips.net/video/3Fj289T6BVg/видео.html
      These are the base amounts to start with, personally, I use 5-6 tsp for 16 oz of dye.

    • @MrTieDye
      @MrTieDye  5 лет назад +2

      when I have multiple layers and things tied tightly, it is best to wait until it is dry so that the wicking action of liquid on dry fabric will help get the dye into the deeper folds of the design... other wise you may end up with a white splotch where you do not want it

    Que puedo usar a parte de la soda ash para fijar el color ???

    • @MrTieDye
      @MrTieDye  3 года назад

      No estoy seguro de si hay otro producto que no sea carbonato de sodio si está usando tintes de Procion ... El carbonato de sodio es lo que activa los tintes de Procion de fibra reactiva, otro nombre es carbonato de sodio. Puede encontrarlo en una de las casas de tinte, o puede comprarlo localmente en una tienda de suministros para piscinas, o en la lavandería con el nombre de Wash Soda, solo asegúrese de verificar que la etiqueta diga 100% Soda Ash.
      Así es como mezclo o hago carbonato de sodio: ruclips.net/video/vD1MSB0sAY8/видео.html

      Not always, but it is how I started and I Liquid dyed for many years before I learned about Ice Dyeing and HWI ... here is one of my video where I tied the RonStar onto a Dress and then Ice Dyed it, but a little differently than normal as I did not do a mandala here : ruclips.net/video/LcfbCn0Qhmk/видео.html

      it is the same as the soda ash I soak in... I mix mine one cup of soda sh to one gallon of water and I fill my bottle from that bucket whenever it runs low.

  • @js1465

    whats the reason for letting it dry out prior to dying? (versus just dying it right away like normal?)

    • @dianaj1524
      @dianaj1524 5 лет назад +4

      When you’re dying something that’s really thick a dry dry shirt will soak up more dye and wick it to the middle so you’re less likely to have white spots where the dye didn’t penetrate. A damp shirt acts as a resist in this instance because a wet/damp shirt can only hold so much liquid so the dye may not make through all those layers of fabric.
