Beautiful Allman Bros. Cover Rick!! Excellent vocal and love your Guild 12 my friend !! Extraordinary sound in a beautiful outdoor setting 🤗. Have a wonderful weekend... Steve
Thanks Steven. And thanks for noticing the audio quality of this one. Have recently changed to some new pick-ups and microphones and super happy with the results! Yes, the 12-string rocks and doesn't get to see the outdoor daylight often! 🙂Rick
As always -- just fantastic! Such smooth singing, that wonderful Guild 12-string and your great bass playing. What could be better! You made this such a lovely arrangement. The only thing missing was your delightful smile at the end (but we know you were smiling inside!). Thanks for sharing your incredible talents and providing the very best on RUclips.
Nicely done, Rick! Very soulful and easy listening. No clue how you can play that 12 string, but it sounded great! I think I may have missed another one (or more?) of your songs you have posted, because I've been busy applying and interviewing for jobs (but got a great one, yay!). I'll have a listen in the next few days. - Christine Lynn
Hi Christine. Nice to hear from you. The 12-string is not that hard to play. Just like a 6-string, but takes a little time to get used to it. So great to hear about your new job! Especially a great one! What a great feeling! Very excited for you! Keep it touch! Rick
Hi Easy! I laughed when I saw that you noticed the new 12-string! It is "lovely"! It was very disappointed when it arrived to learn that such an average guitar player was to be its owner. Apparently, it was promised by the luthier who was building it that it was being made to be played in front of large concert audiences! But I quickly replied that it had 12 strings for a reason! Looking forward to your next song post! 🙂 Rick
Oh don‘t put yourself down! You’re a good player! Maybe this guitar isn‘t played in front of concert audiences but it now brings joy to the RUclips audience 😊 and I think that’s a great use 😊
@@easykrohn Oh you are so nice! Thank you. It is such an awesome guitar - very fortunate to have one. It came with that LR Baggs pick-up already installed that we had discussed previously and it also sounds great plugged in. However, a 12-string only works for certain songs, so it will get sidelined on many songs. Rick
Great job. That 12 string sure sounds good. And a job well done on a song that is harder to sing than most might imagine, at least for me it is. Good work!
Thanks Cal! You are right about that vocal. I actually had to work harder on it than I had originally anticipated. And I get it- there are actually some songs that I'd like to do too - but they just don't seem to work for my voice either. Also, thanks for the compliment on the 12-string. I've been looking hard at your Martin, but decided to go with the 12-string since I didn't have one yet. It really does sound awesome! 🙂 Rick
@@calamusical I also had one a LONG time ago. It was rather basic and was hard to stay in tune also. I was very hesitant to buy another one - but there are certain songs that sound so good with one. And I also already have a 6-string that I like. So I took a BIG chance with this 12-string. I had to wait six months to get it from Guild and I didn't even get a chance to play one personally first. But it certainly sounds absolutely great and this one actually stays in tune! However, it only works for certain songs. The 6-string still works best for 85% of the songs that I play.
@@calamusical I actually tune down a full step. Have been doing that for MANY years. Now that my 6-string is 52 years old, I'm glad that I have kept all of that tension off of it. But equally as important, is that if there is a song that is in too high of a key for me (and with Lydia), we can just adjust the capo down 1/2 or even a full step. Sometimes we even capo higher for her voice or what may work best when we sing harmonies. Check out our cover of "Four Strong Winds" where I removed the capo and it turned out to be one of our best covers. Thankfully, Lydia has a music degree and can adapt her violin to wherever that capo may end up! Yes, I know you can change chords to different keys, but if you try to do that with Neil Young stuff, the song doesn't song anywhere near the same. Rick

Hi Clive!!! I have been instructed by both Lydia and our video person, that a smile will be mandatory at the end of every video going forward! LOL 🙂
Nice subtel rendition Rick!
