- In the bustling streets of Miami, a city known for its vibrant energy and warm beaches, a young boy named Anthony Mason was born into a world filled with hardships. It was December 14, 1966, when Anthony took his first breath, unaware of the tumultuous path that lay ahead.

I was a fan. We knew nothing about his personal trials until his passing. His life was short but intense-the highest highs and tragic lows. RIP Anthony.
Thank you very much
I watched him play in Elementary and High School. He always put in 100%. Great person and player.
We really admire you
Nice guys don't plea to rape charges usually...
Cap

Word! He didn't grow up in Miami!
I always thought that he was born and raised in Queens, NY, which is why I was surprised when I read here that he grew up in Miami. I was a huge fan of Mase's tough style of play with the Knicks.
They left out his whole NYC experience. He had his formative years in Queens NY.
Anthony Mason played the game of Basketball Hard, and with never ending dedication. He will definitely always be a TRUE KNICKERBOCKER. MAY HE REST IN PEACE 🙏🙏💯👍🏿
A life of unhappiness
WHEN I THINK OF THE 90S KNICKS HARD NOSED DEFENSE THIS MAN IS THE IMAGE
Rest in power, A.M..

Played ball for Springfield Gardens H.S. actually. Their gymnasium is now named after him as well.
Condolences to him
I would watch him play at Springfield Gardens high school when I came in as a freshman and he graduated as a senior, at the time, he was dating my best friend’s older sister, on the side, while he was still with Monica. I would also see him play pick up games at Montibeller Park (the bello) in Springfield Gardens, Queens with Lloyd Daniels Lloyd played for our rivals, Andrew Jackson high school. People like Kenny Smith, Lamar, Odom, Mark, Jackson, and escalade would come out to these games. At least I got to date a few of his exes and I’m still cool with his right hand man, Zeus, who also played for the high school team. if any of you folks get a chance to come out to Queens, right off the corner of Hillside and Parsons Boulevard, there is a gigantic mural of him. Rest in peace.
(ironically, down the street, from where his mural is , on hillside, before Queens Blvd. is the Kia dealership which is owned by his ex teammate , John Starks)
I loved watching Mase when he was on the Knicks
He was raised in QUEENS NY NOT FLORIDA
We apologize for these unfortunate incidents
Mason is Queens NYC boy. More specifically Springfield gardens ny.

Mase in your face. NYK was a very physical team during his time there.

Thank you for your sympathy
back in the late 90's I was walking from the movies one night and when I got to 110th and morningside I saw som guys fighting... I went a little closer and it was Mason fist fighting with this Hispanic looking dude... and then about five years later I was selling my books on 125th street.... and Mason was out there book shopping... I asked him to buy my book and he looked at me like I was bugged out... it's all good tho'. life goes on
Yes we thank you very much
do you think Mike Tyson could take on Anthony Mason?
Mike is good but Mason is built like a brick battleship
Everyone has their own strengths
@@NBASadStories i think Tysons punches cant reach Mason
Tyson is only 5'10" and Anthony Mason is 6'8" of pure muscle
Rip King you are missed
Always a Knicks for life❤
We thank you so much
Anthony mason was from Queens NY he lived right next door 🚪 he was born in Miami
How many people are you who want to dream like you
Rest In Power 🙏
You are right
I grew up a Knicks fan. I remember watching him play, but what I remember most was his ugly one handed free throws.
It's an unforgettable memory
It sucks that he passed away on my birthday
He looks like he could be related to dennis rodman

Wow what a surprise
@@NBASadStories actually RIP to both of them...
Mason was good he plays like Draymond for Golden State. Great player God Bless God 🙏 Bless
He is way better than Green
He's so good but his fate is so unlucky
@@PSICK1234ikillallracistrollsNo he's not, a lot of people don't even know who the hell Anthony Mason was. But everybody knows who Draymond Green is. Plus Draymond Green has had better success. Anthony Mason Patrick Ewing and Charles Oakley weren't good enough to get it done. Bottom line.
Not a great player, but was a good player.
That’s definitely false, Mase was a great player, outstanding on defense, all, but revolutionized the point forward position, maybe his shot needed a little bit of work, but he always did all the little things. Bear in mind, this guy went, toe to toe with Hall of Fame players such as Shaq, Sir Charles, Reggie Miller, MJ, Rodman, Larry Johnson, David Robison. Alonzo mourning Manute, Bol As well as his ex Knicks teammates, such as Patrick Ewing, Xavier, McDaniels, and Charles Oakley. I think Draymond Green would need an oxygen tank after a couple of rounds with those guys. I would sure love to have seen what hospital to the 90s New York Knicks team would have sent the 2010s Golden State Warriors to
He played at Tennessee State University
Thank you very much
“In God’s hands.”
RIP Mase
