- A Deep Dive Into FNAF'S Most INFLUENTIAL Fan Game...
Five Nights at Treasure Island is arguably FNAF's most influential fan game. So in this video I do a deep dive into both "Five Nights at Treasure island" and its sequel "Oblitus Casa" to see if these two fan games are really all that good.

Fun Fact:
The Face is actually supposed to appear on Night 4 in Treasure Island
And his actual first appearence is Pirate Caverns
the hint you get for night 4 refers to him with "the one with eyes" as sort of a more proper introduction and lets you now that he is hunting you down now aswell
I am annoyed that PlainTrace mentioned The Face earlier instead of pirate caverns or night 4
@@diegoduron5436 I guess he or she (their voice sounds either or) just messed up with the script since this video is long as hell
@@diegoduron5436 imma be honest i think its all on purpose as considering this is a long asf video he knew people would get bored easily so he just foreshadowed as much as he could to grind as much watchtime as possible, one of the examples being how much he exaggerates night 6 in the first game
For me, nothing will beat the original treasure island game build

Sad you didn't mention how Willy enters and leaves the cabin. Dude literally has an animation for entering and leaving! Haven't seen something like these in another FNAF fan game before, if I recall correctly. Such awesome detail
In phisnoms fnaf 2 open source mangle had something similar, they had an animation whenever they opened the vent, I really wish more stuff like that was in more fnaf games!!
Fazbear Entertainment Storage has these little details for every single animatronic, they really add a lot of charm and it overall had me really hooked in the atmosphere
Such low standard here
@@OleksiyAntonkin I mean whatd you expect when the main fnaf game has gifs as jumpscares and slideshow images to show when the animatronics were moving
@@OleksiyAntonkincan't even enjoy anything, how sad
I would love an FNAF fan game were it uses the Uncanny Valley effect or other types of uncomfterble feelings (like tripophobia, the fear or disgust of patterns, usually holes, being too close)
Maybe a FNAF 4 type game with someone fighting their nightmares where the Nightmares are their biggest phobias combined with their biggest fear (that being the animatronics)
MickMick is practically the uncanny valley personified.
I have an idea for an “Uncanny Bonnie”, named “Faceless”. It’s essentially a normal looking Bonnie (think of fnaf1 Bonnie but with a few accessories), the only major difference is that his face is a blank surface. Because of this, he hunts by sound. He appears on the farthest camera, and then you must stay still. If it works, Faceless will let out a roar indicating that you can move. If you hear running, shut the doors AS SOON AS YOU CAN.
literally the original fnaf and onaf are the 2 things you're looking for, if fnaf 1 isnt uncanny enough for you wait for fnaf+ or play jr's
@@isplat927 I actually had an idea for a FNAF 4 remake that featured a similar concept, where each nightmare would have one key aspect of their design focused on.
Freddy's would be his face, represented by the Freddles, and his design would feature them melting into his body, as Nightmare Freddy would actually be an amalgamation of the Freddles.
Bonnie's would be his eyes, with his face being one huge eye surrounded by smaller ones and his body having eyeballs dotted all around it.
Chica's would be her mouth, having teeth in her empty eyeholes and the cupcake stuck to her, similar to Twisted Chica but with a less horrendous design.
Foxy's main facial feature would instead be a lack there of, as he usually hides in the shadows and isn't frequently fully seen.
Nightmare Fredbear would be a mix of all of them, with a missing eye, one normal eye inside of a mouth hole with teeth, and 2 smiles fused into one (in reference to Freddy). However, his most prominent one would be the mouth for...obvious reasons.
I like how it isn't centered around animotronics, wich wouldn't really work as much, but rather about Monsters/ghosts just with the trademark Fnaf gameplay, because Just because it's a Fnaf Fan Game that doesn't mean it has to be animatronics
Pretty unique for a Fnaf Fan Game.
Sad that most of the gameplay is pretty stale and most of the Characters have the same mechanics (in the first game)
Also all of these Character designs are SO SCARY
They do be freaky
Just to clarify the monsters are “suits” apparently
wait… afton? How the- where are the kids????
wee
Naaaaah, william is not dissing on his animatronics like that.
Actually, Obitus Casa does have a satisfying conclusion, but you have to do a lot of grinding to get it. To get the final conclusion, you must:
- Beat night 6 to get a new ultra custom night character
- Beat ALL the creepypasta characters for 4 more custom night characters
- Beat Custom night on Max difficulty to unlock YET ANOTHER CHARACTER
- Beat Custom Night again with the new character (True nightmare mode)
Do all this and you get a bonus cutscene where you get to speak to Henry one last time, as you both worked together to try to destroy mother once and for all.
It scares me how often this dude doesn't do all his research
I'm glad someone else remembered this cutscene, I thought it was really cool and I was sad to see it wasn't in this video.
Yeah, though the main finale could've at least ended us with the therapist on the intro.
@@mrbrightside3722 to be fair he’s called plain trace-
Jokes aside though it’s honestly fascinating how these two games connect back to the likes of well, the other treasure island games as loops
Also I feel like he neglected to mention the random events that could occur in this game
@Mike-bh1cb that would of tied things together perfectly honestly, it just felt like a plot device that gets toss aside immediately
FNATI was definitely a decent attempt for a FNAF fan game, and the sequel made it absolutely fantastic. Great job to Radiance Team.
The best part about this game is, Disney nearly made their own version back during the Wii era. Epic Mickey had a similar premise with distorted mickey characters but the designers wanted to see how far they could push the scary factor and drew designs that were downright silent hill territory. (You can see them google or online btw if you're curious.) So when disney said no to them, they pulled back more and more until disney was okay with them and that's the game we got.
Which is why there are unused endings for mickey where you can become whithered mickey if you deleted (used the thinner) too much and you end up being a scary demonic mickey. This was almost approved by disney themselves btw!
So to see a fnaf fan game with a disney spin do the same thing but allowed to be horrific is amazing to see. Even if Disney is for kids, kids like scary stuff and fnaf is popular enough that Disney could make a game for it if they weren't so restricted. Sadly they are, but at least fan games will always give us what Disney avoids ^^
I saw this comment and i had flashbacks to when i used to play these games a few years ago, so i looked it up and oh my god what were they thinking lmao. Also the final version of donald duck always freaked me out
I believe they did intentionally overstep it by a HUGE margin. a lot of the really scary artwork was likely never gonna be used unfortunately, but its interesting nonetheless that we got official disney horror
What would I look up to find the images?
@@ozone005 Epic mickey Concept art or Epic Mickey scrapped concept art.
Just be aware, it's very disturbing. Like Silent Hill meets Disney levels of disturbing and creepy.
Definitely not a child-friendly thing ^^

For Night 3 and Night 5, the phone calls contain ciphers in Base64. (Very common cipher in ARGs and the like)
Just remember to have subtitles on to see the actual codes.
If I do recall, the strings had said things like:
"Henry is dead"
"This isn't him"
"I'm sorry Jake"
"I need a body"
"Hear me"
I don't know if someone beat me to it, but yeah, just in case nobody wasn't able to crack it yet, these are what was said.
Pretty good stuff, how were you able to decode the audio? Did you have to transcribe it?
@@chaoskong2987 Oh, it's not the audio. If you have subtitles on in-game, it'll flash a combination of numbers and letters. I just took those bits and put them through a decoder.
I’m going to be honest, when I saw hourglass die in Oblitus Casa, I started celebrating extremely hard because of the fact hourglass scared me every-time I encountered him.
And then she shows up.
@@Fractured_Reflection then all went down hill after that…
@@Fractured_Reflectionat least she dies when we finally beat her
Theres actually one more cutscene that reveals a good chunk of story, but the only way to unlock it is by beating True Nightmare, the game's final challenge unlocked by obtaining every bonus character.
I am really looking forward to Nightmare Below Disney and Oblitus Casa 2.0 (a huge update to Oblitus Casa that plans to fix every major issue)!
I'm kinda surprised that Disney hasn't sued the hell out of Radiance, but it just gives us better fangames so I can't complain
Companies tend to choose what to get offended by and I don't think they thought a random FNAF fangame was gonna be a threat to their brand.
@@Fractured_Reflectiona part of it is the fact that if they sue, they'd have to somewhat acknowledge the creepypastas, which isn't good for the brand. Same reason they don't go after NSFW content, legally confirming the existence of it will likely make it worse
@@Detective_asparagus This also further proves the validity of the "if they sue it's canon" joke.
@@Fractured_Reflectiondisney is a big company. A FNaF fan-game won't affect the reputation of the company as its known pretty much universally.
Thats all of the info I gathered from learning every legal aspect of Jolibee's (my favorite fnaf game)
@@britishbeano69 Shouting out the heads of China's Uighur concentration/organ harvesting camps in the credits of Mulan didn't deteriorate Disney's image, so I doubt much will even if they deserve to crash and burn.
I LOVE how Oblitus Casa came out with the detailed and horrifying models and it's (semi) balanced mechanics. It's got its flaws but you can tell that this was a project made with love and I appreciate it when developers actually care about how the game fits their vision and what the audience might like to see. I love that the team had more creative freedom with Oblitus Casa, compared to the FNATI remake where they just recreated the game with some extras, you can tell that they went all out with it.
Someone decoded the night 5 phone call that was in base 64. results are: threaded walk, I'm sorry jake, I need a body, they are liars, and I am sorry.
Interesting if you ask me.
We forgive him
A little old fact about Oblitus Casa, the attic was the most broken part of the game. To finish the game quickly, all you need to do is sit in the attic and only have to face normal Mickey. They patched it after FusionzGamer took note of it.
You know I am still glad that FNATI has still left such a cult following to not only for the series to continuing development and finally being released as a full blown better and scarier reboot, but has also begun the pathway to other popular FNAF fan series. Examples such as FNAC, ONAF, Popgoes, TJOC, DSAF, Jolly and many others that brought in the huge influence.
seeing the iconic characters in such a deteroated state really bogs me up, great video!
Fun Fact: They Were abandoned by Disney
I mean duh it is Disney
@@kjullinn fun fact: they were abandoned
@@Niksterskiwe heard u the first time
@Niksterski hey do you know if they were abandoned? I'm trying to figure it out
i love this game, bit disapointing that the first game has the fnaf 2 syndrome of almost every character acting the same.
God I hope the term "FNAF 2 syndrome" sticks.
well, since the first game had so many characters it would be way too difficult if every character had different mechanics
the first game has about the same amount of characters as oblitus casa, there were plenty of ways they could've varied the gimmicks of each character.
24:15 The fact that an ad played after the jumpscare makes it unintentionally funny like those phone games that uses ad for giving almost anything to the player
I think Pastra's view on FNATI is more on point. This game is one of the better ones because of how it makes use of red herrings, just like another overly simple and easy to understand game, fnaf 1.
In both of these games, to counteract the simple defense mechanics, it takes advantage of how you need to learn by trial and error by providing sounds and events which are scary and hard to determine if they're harmless. As well as one event which IS deadly.
It means on your first playthrough or two you'll be constantly second guessing yourself as to whether that sound is a cue or that face is a danger.
Much like fnaf 1, once you understand who's the real threats, it becomes easy if not monotonous. But I have to recognize the genius of red herring sound cues and events. It's a great way to up the horror and confusion.
We love pastra ❤
12:39 turning on game subtitles for night 5 triggers secret codes that can be translated to lore for those curious ig lol
Yes, there is a reason you’re down in the tunnels, it’s to find food or something. My guess is you stay in the cabin over the course of a week and need food obviously. This is stated somewhere in the game, I’m sure you can find it if you search.
It’s to find gas, to burn down the island
The Eyeless Jack Challenge is just essentially a Papparazzi Challenge and Jack is very good at not being caught
surprised he has not encountered Mortimor in any of the nights
fun fact: dippy is goofys old name
I think it would have been awesome if mother screamed “Get… OOUUUTTTTT!” In a high pitched scream. It would have been an interesting end, especially considering she couldn’t kill you, but also fitting since the daylight made them retreat. Meaning you could safely leave
I tried to play Oblitus Casa but rage quit after I failed to get through the tunnels bc I didn’t know about the sound. Not to mention the post mortem section is so confusing. The game looks awesome and the mechanics during the nights seems super cool. It’s just too damn hard 😭
Skill issue
@@goldenhydreigon4727 🤓☝️
I searched Wikipedia for post mortem and actually found out how to send off the shades
P.N.M: stab the voodoo doll when in the 2 doors
Oswald: stab the voodoo doll when in the office
Goofy:shine the light
Minnie: flip up the monitor
Donald: dont collect fake mickey heads (the ones with a glitch effect around them)
Ortensia: dont stay in post mortem for too long
The correct sound cue in the tunnels is a bell.
Another fun fact about the first game, it actually has more easter eggs in an attempt to keep the gameplay from being stale, though it looks like you got unlucky and never encountered any of them. These easter eggs include:
- a chance to have Mortimer (Su-cide Mouse) to join the night. You know he has spawn when the classic music from that cartoon plays and the cameras are in black and white
- Seeing multiple eyes when the lights are out
- Having Pluto show up in your office
And much more. Some easter eggs are fatal, while others exist just to catch first time players offguard. So try playing Treasure Island again and see if you can trigger any of them
The names of the enemies are really cool, it's not something like "Glamrock Soupcan" or "Funtime Baller"
They’re pretentious.

It's nice that this subfranchise is still continuing. I remember getting freaked out by the main menu easter egg.

The day has finally come. Great review, love this games. One of the very few I wanted to complete the max difficulty custom nights. Now markiplier just has to play it T~T
I highly recommend checking out Treasure Island Anniversary Edition, a shorter game that Radiance made. In my opinion, I think it perfects the main gameplay loop of the Fnati games by finding the perfect balance between its mechanics. Due to having much less cameras available, the final nights, and especially the custom night, the cameras feel like a scarce resource with the threat of actually running out of active ones, forcing the player to closely consider the amount of time each character spends in your office before jumpscaring, in hopes of stacking multiple characters at once and getting rid of them all with one camera shut off. This plus the last ditch effort mechanic of hiding under the desk, which only has a 50% chance of getting rid of certain characters, I feel makes for a much more nerve racking and challenging experience that, in my opinion, is the definitive Fnati gameplay!
He probably didn't know about that version when recording the video.
They are reworking oblitus casa entirely, and the tunnels sequence is better now

I agree
Here some updates:
The tunels is actully reworking, is been show a last update where a video of the new tunels, is way different and way scarry (apart of a lot of new updates to this game, not only the tunels)
the part of "the second chance" game i really don't know completely but here some tips i actually saw in a lot of gameplay:
-if someone is in the doors flash em
-Donalds disguise as one of the mickey heads, be carefull
-Mickey and oswald are the ones you have to make em away with "Your Best Friend" the mickey voodo, don't use em too much/stab em too much, you will make both of em mad (i know, much of the RUclipsrs do that of stab em with out idea and get almost a imiedtly jumscare)
-i think you don't have to look at minnie at all
-and ortensia is the one i don't know, i only know she is the circus
You shouldn’t stab YBF to much as Shade(Yes the characters in the post Mortem part are Shades) Sadie(Ortensia) in Post Mortem serves as a death timer. Stabbing YBF when it would repel no characters speeds up the Shade Sadie death timer.
I love the tunnel section, you can hear that thing in the tunnels trying to get you to come closer to it!
Oblitus Casa recently got its 2.0 update, which fixed a hell of a lot of bugs and even redid some gameplay bits to feel a lot better.
Honestly, adding creepypasta characters as extra challenges is genius.
The game was already based off of a creepypasta, so it makes sense to add big names to the game as a bonus. And hey, Jeff the Killer is finally scary for a change! That's a first! (Seriously, don't read the actual story. It's bad).
I feel like the remastered FNTI is pretty good for what it is. It's not trying to reinvent the wheel of the FNAF fan game formula but rather focuses on helping the game reach its potential from the original cause if you've seen the production history with the series it's almost a miracle it was even made to begin especially with the sequels. That's probably why i can excuse the gameplay's monotony. It's definitely an 8.5/10 for me imo. And as for its sequel easily a 9.5/10.
Man I didnt watch it yet but I missed your content so much, I watched all your content, you certainly are my fav fnaf content youtuber
As soon as you mentioned fnati, nostalgia just hit me like a freight train at full speed, i completely forgot that it existed. I used to watch a youtuber play this game but i cant recall who it was. That's still a mystery on my end
do you remember what they look like?
@@FIGGYISGOD idk if they showed their face or not, my memory is pretty hazy on it. Maybe it was a horror game channel playing horror games back then.
I had NO idea Radiance was planning a THIRD FNATI game
As a veteran FNaTI fan, I loved this video, although there are a few notes I would like to say:
- The Face (FNaTI) doesn’t become active until Night 4
- Treasure Island has a lot of post-game content I’m shocked wasn’t even mentioned, including Classic Mode, a complete full remake of the original demo that Markiplier played, bad graphics, sounds, bugs and all.
- Most of the Custom Night characters not being mentioned was disappointing although I understand as they’re more nods and call-backs to legacy FNaTI fans (like me), instead of important noteworthy things (like who besides me would get excited over Ink-Blot Mickey or Slester)
- The games have TONS of Easter Eggs, such as Nightmare Suicide Mouse, Squidward from Five Nights at The Chum Bucket , Golden P.N. Mickey (named The Forgotten One) and Suicide Mouse (renamed Mortimer) showing up in Treasure Island and them all reappearing in Oblitus Casa alongside Funtime P.N. Mickey (named DEEZ NUTS from the April Fools Oblitus Casa demo) and if you press a certain key combination during a night, you can watch an entire iCarly episode in 144p before it being cut half way through by a Jumpscare.
- And finally, Post-Mortum (the Gulag) is explained albeit only in Night 1 for 5 seconds. Shade P.N. Mickey and Oswald get warded away with the YBF. Shade Goofy can be seen in the hallways and if not shined away will steal YBF. Shade Donald will be summoned if you click on a glitching out Mickey head. Shade Sadie (Ortensia) will be summoned if you spam YBF or stay too long. And Shade Minnie behaves like FNaF 1 Golden Freddy.
Still absolutely amazing video!
Honestly, I wonder how PlainTrace reacted when Nightmare Below Disney turned out to be a troll.
Markiplier's thumbnails for the old treasure island game is by far one of the most terrifying things i've ever seen in my life

I would like to point out that the death minigame does tell you what to do.
If you die during night 1. The first night has a scripted death that can easily be ignored by not being on the camera’s around 4 to 5 AM as mother will kill you at any moment you have the camera’s up at 5 AM.
I suspect however this will be addressed in V2.
But here’s a rough idea of what the mechanics were.
Goofy will appear in the left hall, hold the light on him until he disappears.
If goofy gets in he takes the doll .
Oswald’s is gimmicky and I’m going off of memory, but I believe you use the voodoo doll. Usually he leaves.
Minnie will enter the office and acts like golden Freddy, just flip the camera’s up.
Donald will mimic a Mickey head, the way to tell the difference is the fake Mickey head is flickering none stop and you can see Donald slightly.
A real one does not flicker.
Mickey however is the problem, due to V1 being very unstable, avoiding him is nigh impossible unless you keep your on him.
Mickey will enter via the right hall, however here’s the catch… you won’t see him, when you are supposed to.
What’d you’d do then is hit the BFF about 3 to 4 times to scare him off.
Anyone else use Donald’s scream as a alarm clock? Or just me
What kind of freak would use Disembodied's screech as a ring tone?
I'm more of a Slendytubbies Tinky Winky scream guy myself.
