people say james was terrible on this dvd. i've just sat through this and panic attack and can say he sounds just as awesome as he always does.

hahahahaha I've probably replayed that Mikey inspirato moment at least 10 times. Everything about is just gorgeous, length, where it fits and that amazing pitch and vibrato!!! I just love it.

He does actually switch guitars. If you look closely on In the name of God he plays a redburst guitar with chrome hardware, and on Razors Edge he plays a black guitar with gold hardware. :)

@zonic26 John switches guitars at the beginning and end of "in the name of god." JM plays a 6 string bass with one tunning. I don't see why he'd have to change it.

@panamanian911 John Myung would have to change his bass cuz the 6th string is tuned in C for In the Name of God, whereas it's in B in "normal" time... But we can see, he just adjust the low string while playing
@IgnotusPerIgnotium i think it was sampled to bend up that high and he just had to hit that note at the right time

I don't get how he plays "In the name of God", then "Razors Edge". It goes from drop c, to standard tuning... Unless he plays razors edge a step down, but I don't see how he is bending the string on the 24 to reach E. He didn't switch his guitars or anything... Maybe i'm thinking too hard

Via tuning hanging pedals, you can store the desired tuning as presets and just change between the channels.

If I'd sing non stop for 30 years I wouldn't miss a damn note. I don't know what's wrong with Jame LaBrie, how can you not get used to sing right? How can you not sing Razor's Edge, it wasn't Surrounded or Metropolis. He couldn't even manage the mouth shape to get the right sound. Definitely my top 3 singers of all time but he makes me so angry.
