2024, and still enjoying this master piece.
Hell yeah!
the same..... awesome dude....
In it to win it roll on October london
And honestly still very relevant to this day
@@Itsallfun3000 Fuck yeah my dude! Paid 200 quid for my seat... plus the hotel and the trains to and from my city. Worth every penny. All hail the return of King Portnoy \m/
THAT ENDING SOLO IS BEYOND THIS WORLD! PETRUCCI THE GOD!
alex should've been in the recording
fuck yeah this is insane >___
The prog god almighty John Petrucci 🤯
I thing you mean gsus
And so he is!!!
We need more albums like Train of Thought.
relevant propic
wait till february 2019
@@renzo3939 Distance over time not event close train of thought
@@gisssk9236 distance over time is train of thought. but super super super happy sounding
@@gisssk9236 I was disappointed with Distance Over Time honestly I still think that Images and Words is their best album love that 80s vibe!
Omg that ending solo. JP showing everyone what class is all about
This song always brings me to tears, especially the last 4 minutes of the song.. my God, so beautiful.
So beautiful.
yeah man, it's like all the climax you can get from this life, and you're ready for the next journey.
My favorite DT DVD... this is absolutely PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!
i got original as soon as it came out, i knew them only by few months. i am not joking by saying i spent whole days staying at home watching it over and over. i think now that disc is not working anymore!
Really really i love this dvd too im from vitória ES kisses haha
Definitely their best dvd and their best rendition of this song. Every single one of these guys were pulling their own weight AND some....spectacular:)
Nati sua linda was in this dvd that i meet the band after this never more let hear. I love so much Dream theater 😍😍😍😍😍😍
I watch this dvd when is come out in 2004 every single day before badtime sleep on and on almost a year!!
My face melted off during that keyboard/guitar instrumental. So good!
The solos in this song are godly, love the guitar/keyboards with the nice little bass groove in the background.
This song helps me whenever i need hope and strength in life. Truly a Masterpiece and very underrated.
one of the hardest guitar solos to play
sadly, one of his lamest :/
@@Diegosaurio lol what are you saying
@@cobain_92 don't get me wrong, I love this dude, but it's just meaningless shred. The final solo is way better
@@Diegosaurio I agree it's shred, but I like it. When you hear it you're just like "wow. He just did that?" I enjoy it, but hey
Diegosaurio you both are idiots. His solo is NOT even a shred, he’s hitting WRITTEN NOTES. Accurate, fast, written notes... Look up the definition of “shredding” since you both clearly don’t know.
They've all mastered their respective roles, one of the most technically gifted bands I've ever heard
As a christian, musician, and music enthusiast, this is one of the most moving and powerful songs I've ever heard.
@Danny Carvajal Gods aren't, but God is
@Danny Carvajal Oh yeah, I've heard that one before, ignorance right? "Faith is ignorance", yep, that's a classic one, repeat what you heard buddy, I can't think of what is more religious than that.
@Danny Carvajal You'll stand by your statement? You'll not hear other opinion? That statement bring me some memories, just like some religious man used to do to make religious people, the Crusades, the ones that didn't follow the church statement were ignorant and they said they grew massively more stupid every time they spoke. You are a real religious man, I believe you would give your house to some church conducted by men, judging by your strong statemente of religousness.
Great song but you know the meaning is about using God as an excuse for war...
@@infinity1967thru2011yeah, the point of the song is how bad people who misuse faith for evil are, not how bad faith is. In fact, many members of the band are religious themselves, with Petrucci even being a practicing Catholic.
2024 ❤ STILL LISTEN , DREAMING 😅
yes, listen
This is the best band in the whole world. Megadeth might be my favourite band. But DT is above that,a new level of greatness. From vocals to the bass is too good,I can’t believe it. DT’s music is beyond words of being good.
Yes, but the singing screws it up. The singing in this band is cringe. The singer is to Dream Theater what Lars is to Metallica. I don’t know how they stuck with this dude and this style of singing.
@@lionsuar77I agree. Still great.
@@lionsuar77I’m more of a thrash/death metal guy so it took me a bit to get use to his style, but goddamn, when he says “LIIIIISTEN…” that shit is magic
@@lionsuar77wtf Lars is the goat
That unison around 10:00 is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Playing a whole show, to nail all those instrumental sections is fuckin insane.
Just magnificent!!!!!!!!!!!!
My favorite duet solo between John and Jordan is on Panic Attack, but this one is an extremely close second.
9:10 Jordan literally enjoying himself in that section....Just MINDBLOWING!!!!!
james is actually a really good singer, not live but in the studio he just fits so much! i can't imagine Dream Theater without him
that's why liquid tension had to be born
Hi james
I know this will sound dramatic, but this song (album version with this ending) is the coolest song I've ever heard. I keep listening to it and hearing new things- this weird audio does not do it justice, but it's still great
I am amazed, astonished, stunned and the words i can not say about this live perfromance.. Dream Theater is the best band ever... No need to discuss....
One of my favorite DT live performances especially with the kick ass instrumental outro...you can just feel all the emotion in it
2023.. still loving this madness!! 🙌🏻
I guess many won't agree with me. But I think this is the best live performance of their catalog. This song builds up with every minute and explodes at the last solo. Beautiful
Apart from James, they didn't miss a note the whole concert.
the best lyrics as well.
I couldn't agree more, it's the BEST LIVE album in their vast discography. I'm happy they released a Blu-ray of this magical performance in 2010. I hoped something similar for "Score: 20th Anniversary World Tour Live With The Octavarium Orchestra", however it hasn't happened till today. With Mike Portnoy back in the band now anything can happen 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Except the singing is always cringe in this band. It just is. They need a new singer who sings in a different style that’s less annoying.
This is the best live-performance ever. The end is just mindblowing. omfg.
MISS YOU MIKE PORTNOY
This piece of music proves that this band has always been more than just amazing chops -- this is brilliant composing. But then ADD the chops to the composing -- the jaw is on the floor every time!
This dvd is what finally got me hooked on DT. A masterpiece all the way
One of the best songs from that setlist. This was the album that got me to listen to the band and become a fan. One of the very few bands that sound better live than in studio.
Love how there are Japanese people in the crowd all dressed up as if they went to see opera but deep down inside, they're metalheads.
Many had just gotten off work.
this song has the most perfectly placed pinch harmonic OF ALL TIME
You really can’t find any better. Mine used to be the pinch harmonics in Dead Or Alive by Bon Jovi, but then I discovered this band, and this song. SO powerful!
You after the solo when the main riff kicks in?
The only sad thing about this masterpiece is that it was written in 2003 and in 2024 it still holds truth
that lead break on guitar and keyboards at 8-33 mins is just mindblowing....awesome skills guys
I can honestly say that petrucci is the most complete guitarist to ever exist. Style, technique, feel, speed... fucking everything!!!
El Maliki Ahmed Hamza what about Guthrie Govan?
is good but petruci has more creativity
Oh man, you're in for a big surprise if you ever see some of the really accomplished guitar masters.
/watch?v=tPnGLvKhO-8
We are talking about metalguitarists. And yes, Petrucci is accomplished guitar master. Technically he's just good as John Browne or Viktor Smolskiy, and musically he's just God.
he's an amazing guitar player, beyond this world! top 3, but I haven't seen anyone like Guthrie
Vocals all together sound incredible, perfect work man. Especially John's vocals :)
other musicians: ok, this is the hardest part, lets end it here
dream theater: lets continue and improving it for ten minutes
My thoughts exactly. Just when u think the song is over or there’s nowhere to go from that point, they go the extra mile.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Truly impressive performance. Never seen anyone perform live anywhere near as incredible as Dream Theater. They fucking killed it here \m/
That main guitar/bass riff is intoxicating with its bass-y, distorted intensity
One of my favorite DT songs ever. I love when James is quiet most of all. Bring back MP!
kage
that ending was so perfect for the live version. Love it when bands do stuff like that
Never bored to hear this song.
Healing the soul, healing my spirit too
.
.
One of the best song in the world
DT lope you fulll
James is better and better...saw them in January in Prague and I was excited, how great they are...!
2023, still here with this piece of Art!
It’s not even a tone down. What a voice and what a performance. Out of this world!!
2020, who is still enjoying this masterpiece?
Me me me!
This solos are insane
Did y'all watch the whole thing or just this? I just got done watching it...probably my 70th time. This was the first live DVD I got from DT and it holds a very special place. This show was mind blowing to say the least. I've been to 14 DT shows, none of em are this...lol. Just a magical night with an amazing set list.
lml
How can u not enjoy, its timeless
They play it slightly faster than on the album, but JP and JR are still able to flawlessly pull off their solos.
Prolly one of their best lyrics
Alex Erne it is their best lyrically, I put this beside: The Best of Times, A Change of Seasons, and The Count of Tuscany, and The Glass Prison.
Cuando era un adolescente no soportaba la música de Dream Theater. Ahora que esto pisando los 40 empiezo a disfrutar cada vez más de su obra. Talento en su máxima expresión.
Can't imagine this performance is from 2003. How time flies man 😮🤘🏼😮
W E L C O M E B A C K T O D R E A M T H E A T E R M I K E P O R T N O Y 🤘🏼🥁🤘🏼
08:45 the way those two play together should be an inspiration to every musician out there, no matter the genre or instrument. Incredibly impressive!
Back vocals FTW!!!!
This song is so badass,my favorite one by dream theater
ONE THING to say: I LOVE this band.
Dude, that last Petrucci shred at the end (14:31) is like when he is transforming in SJJ GOD BEARD PETRUCCI. Wylde man... But in this DVD He is in the early age, skinny, still developing his muscles and his Beard.
Petrucci as a singer is an excelent guitar player!!!
Yeahhhhh!!!
this was the first dream theater song I ever heard!
sanctora Wow as great one to start with
sanctora You started very well!
Same
same
But not first you learn on guitar
After studying musical theory, the scales, etc. Some bands may loose your interest because you're looking for something more, with Dream theater however, even after studying musical theory they still keep my interest and I have even grown more fond of them because they use such a complex style of playing, it's incredible.
yes indeed 💯🔥
I think the thing that kills me is talented musicians either getting lazy (Ivan Moody of 5FDP) or just using predictable and cookie cutter song structure and lyrical themes. Over the years and dozens of bands Ive listened to, I have MUCH higher standards than I used to. Probably why I've come to love progressive rock/metal
Who can not still die for this masterpiece? ... a masterpiece is alloways a masterpiece... come on, what r v talking about? Which band ever played something like this? Not because I'm a fan, not at all.. just go and compare, even satriany, who can? ... a deep, technical, emotional, passionate music ... text perfect, instruments perfect...
I've seen Petrucci in a clinic here in Italy and during the meeting, talking about his ability, he said he's christian and he thanks God for this mastery and he sees it as a gift, a way to make people dream
2023, still a masterpiece
Di handphone saya masih tersimpan rapi full konser budhokan ini.bagi saya pribadi keseluruhan konser dengan durasi hampir 3 jam ini tidak ada yg mengecewakan.Sungguh luar biasa.
Dan akhirnya Portnoy balik lagi .. Mangini bagus cuman terlalu modern metal .. saya akui dia bekerja keras hingga DT bisa dapet Grammy awards .. tapi memberikan soul sebuah lagu pasti Portnoy lebih paham
@@UserBot615 setuju.dia promotor yg hebat dlm hal itu.

LABRIE sings pretty good here
10:12 MP is crazy after that harmonic haha
the best concert of DT in the history.
This is probably one of the best concerts ever, regardless of band...
Meus amigos Train of trough é um disco monstruoso 🤟🇧🇷👏💜
When your favorite bands songs are so long that have commercials in the middle of the videos.....smh lol
Those middle eastern sounds add so much to the song 👌🤘
in this band everyone is like a god , not only petrucci
Great, great song. From 12:54 on, JP's amazing solo. Pure magic.
Mike, you are amazing! I miss you deeply in the band, you will never be replaced.
No, he didn't :(
Never tire of listening to this. Brilliant song from start to finish but the almost symphonic layers after 10:40 are stunning. Rudess' background sound is perfect for the song as it gradually intensifies. The real shame is Myung's base lines are not high enough in the mix.
How did Petrucci play that solo Flawlessly live? He made it look so easy.
Seen em live several times in Toronto, these guys can tap into musical planes that few of us can only dream of. When the tones right, the crowds right, the venues right they hit on all cylinders.
insanity. he's the best there ever was, i swear. maybe not the "greatest", but certainly the best.
He's god so what did you expect?
Dude... It's been a long time thah i have been listening to this song but now at 14:12 i had the biggest goosebumps in my life..... Thanks Dream
Amazing vocals on this song
Lord LaBrie
Lord LaBrie
When I saw this tour in Hollywood......this was the best song of the night and trust me when I say the vocals that night absolutely blew me away.....I went to see Mike and the band.....but when I left I was just stunned I never expected or sadly realized or ever gave him his dues.....but he stole the show...this was by far the best song of the night, the crowd just erupted....it was amazing....this version in no way reflected what I heard that night....he had so much power and range it blew me away......
music too from thailand
and i have import CD this album
amazing out of tune yes
In 2020 Christmas eve.

I love the line "Blurring the line between virtue and sin, they can't tell where god ends and mankind begins" Perfect. And I say that as a staunch atheist.
That ungodly timing to play those blistering solos in unison is mind boggling

If God exists, this song is definitely in his name
In the name of Petrucci
Petrucci is GOD! I worship him multiple times a day. I have built multiple idols, some in my house and one giant one in my backyard. All the neighbors come over every morning and evening and we all worship him. You should try it sometime.
Not funny. You cannot talk with god in this way...
But John Petrucci is catholic '-'
Myredeye1 wow...
The best song from arguably their best album! 🎸
It’s not debatable, it is their best album
@Raeu Lucaas yeah, octavarium was a good album, but the only bangers were panic attack and octavarium in my opinion. Panic attack is one of their best
Please bring back the Real Dream Theater! The Majesty!
this song is more relevant now than it has ever been.. shieet
Holy fuck that outro solo
I fucking know right! Brilliant
I didn't know Dave Mustaine could sing this high

Cant believe the orchestra section at the end was played with just one man
I hope the audio quality isnt this bad on DVD. I have dream theaters 20th anniversary with the octivarium orchastra, and the audio quality is amazing.
Ofcourse it's better! This video is 480p and CD is always better than youtube, doesn't matter what quality
Sound quality on RUclips is always shit, even with the highest quality options.

A humble request to all human beings and humanity..listen to this once before you die.. 😌
"Best Drummer All Of Time"
Train of Thought's fase -> the best fase. It was the dream theater's era when the five guys were more connected, more meshed (I don't know if I used this word correctly). For me, it was the apogee of DT.
I love the way you put that
have to disagree about their apogee. Their most praised work came before ToT but about their connection I wouldn't agree more, as far as I know ToT was made like in two weeks and every song is pretty groovy
I think exaclty the same, i thought was just me :3
Facts
I got goosebumps at the end of the song.
