Yep. 6 months ago I didnt know what things like a pwm output or dual port wastegate even was. Now I am watching your videos and comfirming things I'm finding out along the way.. big difference, cheers
I've been following you for a bit now, and really enjoying your videos, thanks for the load of information in these videos. Because of the information you've provided in these videos, I'm going to try something a very different and put the smallest pulley I can on a supercharger that won't cause belt slip and put a waste-gate on the plenum to control the amount of boost I see. I loved the fact that we are able to increase or decrease boost pressure with alcohol percentage using the advance table and wanted to give myself that ability with a supercharger, why should all the turbo guys have the fun. No more switching out pulleys for more boost, now I will be able to simply increase boost like the turbo guys do. If you don't mind I do have some question I would like to run across you, where's the best place to get in contact with you to talk more about this?
Ok so I’ve got a quick question in regards to putting scramble on the bump button. Does the ecu automatically disregard scramble while you are using the trans brake input and bumping in? I don’t see a setting to disable bump while using trans brake input unless I create an advanced table for boost offset?
I'm late to this video because that's just the way projects go sometimes.. but now that I've done some cruising on the street, been more hands on with the software, and seeing datalogs; coming across this video again makes way more sense. THANKS SO MUCH !
Holy moly. Last night I followed A21 Bravos "Sloppy transbrake V2" video and was able to jump up on the converter and spool like nothing. Tonight I wired up a 3 port mac valve and I followed this super simple PWM output example you showed and I got functioning boost control. This is the first time I've ever messed with a standalone or any turbo LS stuff for that matter.....but boy I am I having fun. I would've never believed I could slam a shitty foxbody together for next to nothing and have a car that I can barely manage to keep on the road. Thanks for all this great info you give out!
Awesome waiting on my terx max, so done with the stock ecu. Have watched you for many years and learned so much. You definitely motivated me to turbo all the "junk" no tire or 60e is safe Thank you
just switched over to a holley and looking into it i was thinking id have to re plumb my entire wastegate setup coming from a turbosmart eboost street to the holley but this explained it so simply for me and i can control my boost with duty cycle like i did on the turbosmart, thank you! you have my like of this video
I've learned from you over the last three years or so. You explain things in common sense. To me anyway. Not kissing ass. Your good at learning and teaching.
Great vid. I already understood the concepts, but it was great seeing You break it all down, and to playing around with the settings in Holley. Thanks!
I think that I have a lot better understanding from watching a few of your other videos as well like the comprehensive boost control. If it wasn't for the videos you put up, and your wiki, I wouldn't have an LS swapped shitbox that makes such great turbo sounds!
I'd like a breakdown on how you determine what changes to implement and troubleshoot in order to street tune these boost features to get your desired result.
well this is a funny question, a leash boost controller is a stand alone device, so you would just use their whole system and instructions totally separately of the terminator system.
Can someone answer this for me. Just learning about the term x. If someone ran a manual or separate boost controller would the ecu automatically adjust if you changed the amount of boost being ran? Or is that not how it works?
Thanx for the information. I am not using it, but it's good to understand what you're talking about. Also can you explain how this works with four port?
So where would you recommend mounting a dome sensor if I've already got one with 3port mac setup as you described? Top or bottom of gate or straight on intake manifold? Thanks
@@SloppyMechanics Yes I finally figured it out yesterday. Lol 😂 Dome pressure is not boost pressure. What was confusing me is in the Holley it’s called Boost vs Time
I downloaded the Terminator X software and started playing with it. I run megasquirt right now (v2.2)... will it do everything that the software shows it'll do. And do you have to run a TPMS sensor and idle control. Right now I'm using for the Edis 6 air intake temp coolant temp and map. Now I realize I'll need to add a cam sensor to do sequential fuel and spark. But if I got this system on a 6 cylinder could I just start by doing sequential Fuel and continue using my msd6Al box setup and add coils later. Also I think I'll need to add resistors to each injector.. there only 2.2 ohms. This is a dope system if it does everything it shows.
Hello mat I did everything you said to do in video and I tried to test it with putting compressed air from my compressor with laptop hooked up and key turned on powering up ECU I have the Mac valve set at 10% duty cycle and I never get any buzzing coming from Mac valve.
I finally got the BC to work by offsetting the 100psi “Holley” sensor to show 0 psi at idle but I’m seeing like 60psi on the dome at 15 psi of boost. Is that a true number on the dome or do I have something setup wrong?
its how fast the valve is turning on and off, sometimes raising or lowering it can add or remove resolution or oscillation etc., but i would say 18-30hz all work approx. the same on every car
@@SloppyMechanics Thanks Matt! Curious how you happened to be answering this 3 years later, but much appreciated!! :) And I'm super excited to see F7 ripping. I'm actually starting to mess around with all-motor, and non-intercooled, lower-boost turbo setups more because it's gotten to be way too easy to make way more power than is useable. To the point that some of the fun has gone out of it for me. Lol... I'm even sort of interested in messing with a 4-banger like a 1.8t adapted to a 4L60e, just to make it a challenge again to make some power. Sorry for the unsolicited, off-topic rant. Hahaha..
Great information. I'm running 93& meth, and the car is only getting 13 lbs with 24psi of CO2. Where with HP it would get 22boost with 17 psi CO2. I think 11.4 target AFR is stopping the boost. What AFR you recommend?
Matt, I want to preface this statement by telling you that I'm not being critical, I'm only asking out of curiosity, when you use an example of target air/fuel at 12.0 and your car is at 12.5 you said that this was slightly rich but wouldn't that be slightly lean? Thanks
So this way you don’t need to burn a input for dome control.... you just pulse the Mac valve at a predetermined frequency and you get whatever boost the pulse gets you.
i am flattered so many of you have no questions and only praise for what i threw together quick.

The pid tuning would help also!

Doing my 1st turbo build and watched tons of videos and this video gave me that "ahhhhhh haaaaaa" moment where it all makes sense now. Thank you

Thank you for making it simple and easy to follow. Great explanation.

Man you took me to school, I been trying to understand all this but the Facebook pages got me confused. Thanks for this
Once again, great info. You make it easy to understand. Makes the learning curve easier for us noobs. Thanks Matt
This certainly got the ideas churning now
good shit man. appreciate the time you took to make this video! Just got my terminator keep the holley vids coming!!
Nice! thanks for the easy explanations on this stuff. cant wait till I can get back on my project. I'll be using this info.
Thanks for the info
I'd like a breakdown on how you determine what changes to implement and troubleshoot in order to street tune these boost features to get your desired result.
i will be referring to this video a ton , TY for clearing most of my questions up
Great video! Learned a lot! Thank you. Do you happen to have any tutorial on installing Leash Boost Controller to a Terminator X?
well this is a funny question, a leash boost controller is a stand alone device, so you would just use their whole system and instructions totally separately of the terminator system.
When you mentioned that you don't have an input to burn, are you referring to a dome pressure sensor?
how do you adjust the PID for dual 3port Mac valves? Does this need done on each valve?
Can someone answer this for me. Just learning about the term x.
If someone ran a manual or separate boost controller would the ecu automatically adjust if you changed the amount of boost being ran? Or is that not how it works?
yes
Thanx for the information. I am not using it, but it's good to understand what you're talking about. Also can you explain how this works with four port?
Would you have to waste an input as well? So input tied into the map sensor for the dome pressure input?
can you make the scramble work using this method of boost control?
So where would you recommend mounting a dome sensor if I've already got one with 3port mac setup as you described? Top or bottom of gate or straight on intake manifold? Thanks
Oh man. This helped a ton. Thanks again sir!
You should run a tuning class this stuff is gold.
He's done at least one tuning class I know. ruclips.net/video/nFE-imv65qo/видео.html
Matt On my truck i’m calling for 24psi and it makes 18. I’m not sure how to fix that. Also how do I go about getting info on you dyno tunning? Thanks
With dome sensor? Is there 18 in the dome? Dome and manifold are not the same just a heads up
@@SloppyMechanics Yes I finally figured it out yesterday. Lol 😂 Dome pressure is not boost pressure. What was confusing me is in the Holley it’s called Boost vs Time
In the boost settings. Will it still be able to use the boost vs time? Basically in the pwm you just adjusting the max boost target that you want?
Correct
So you could either do the domemap boost control or this way. Correct?
Is there a way I can have my ECU read a one time cam gear and a 58 reluctor
do you have a video for 4 port mac valves and twin turbo set ups?
I downloaded the Terminator X software and started playing with it. I run megasquirt right now (v2.2)... will it do everything that the software shows it'll do. Very cool.
Do you block of the internal MAP vacuum linewhen you add a 3 bar MAP ?
no, its non functional at that point so you don't need to do anything with it, there is no air going to or from it.
can boost be controlled thru an aem boost dial, like with mega squirt
What frequency do you recommend for a 3 port?
Man, all you did is remind me I need to get a terminatorx. Lol
5 months later and I finally got 1. Rewatching all your Holley stuff lol
Does the terminater x have scramble??
Is there a way to use this method with dual 3 port solenoids?
This is fantastic, thanks for the video!
Thanks so much dude this is amazing info! So if you're running a manual trans how do you regulate boost per gear or mph?
speed sensor, gps, gear indicator, on off switch for higher or lower gears, lots of ways!
Very informative 👍
Sloppy Mechanics Explained, finally.
also, that turbo looks suspiciously like something else. just saying.
Big Time help made it a lot clearer thank you
Awesome stuff as usual Matt. Probably dumb question but how do you wire in the two step button?
Ground input usually
Awesome video this helps so much.
Thanks for this video I jus got a Terminator x for my foxbody and trying to figure good out is a pain I have a 4 port Mac and trying to figure it out
Sloppy school. Love it.
Thanks so much Matt!!
Nice explanation thank you
Great stuff Matt.! Would you mind going a bit more deeply into the effect of frequency?

Thanks Matt. FYI I'm NOT hot for teacher.
Can u show me what to do with remote T.T. internal waste gates with only a top port with a 3 port Mac ?
Very helpful thanks
Thanks from all us geeks

I have boost leash running the boost.
Can you do a science video on putting way too big of a wastegate on a car to see if it effects spool time negatively and if so, by how much?
Awesome video!
once again thank you lol, this definitely helped!
awesome, i am pleased with the positive comments where people learned i was thinking 1/3 through recording i was confusing people

indeed!
right on
Where are the downloads
Excellent video. I think I have a handle on what the fuck I am trying to do with a Mac valve.
Ok I bought the terminator x max and I didn’t plan on tuning with a lab top I just planned on plugging shit in and letting him n learn
You can for a simple combo for sure, also you can load pre configured tunes
I'm too old for this, I kinda got it at first but as soon as you started bouncing from one screen to another, I just lost it all.
😺👍
Matt are you going to Sema?
My brain hurts now .
Assigning an output to a function is kind of clunky. Changing from CL to OL shouldn't be so clunky.
Is this just a distraction from 848 car please tell me it didn't blow up again... lol jk let see that thing make a hit!
damn his heads almost as big as that white board LOL
gotta fit this brain yo
