KD is a bus rider. I think he's better than Tatum, but not significantly. When it really matters KD will choke 100% unless Curry is getting triple teamed and he's left wide open as was the case at Golden State.
It's a testament to the amount of talent on the team that Tatum (and Haliburton) didn't play and they still won by over 20 points. I think it's a good thing for Tatum. Let him rest. To be fair, he and White had a much longer season than the rest of the players on the team who didn't go to the Finals. Get rest, stay ready and show out when you're called to play.

The coaching staff made it clear from the start that not every player would have big role or minutes. The lineup for this game was well-managed, and its just the first game, chill out. We won, that's all that matters. Kudos to the USA-B team. On to the next one!
A win is win. The entire team is was cooking together, the only person I thought struggled on both ends was embiid. Tatum just needs to stay ready to dominate once his number is called

I’m not so much a JT fan, but just looking at his scoring is extremely unfair. Dude has one of the best rebounds/assists numbers in NBA playoffs history and he led the Celtics in all categories (including scoring). Yes JB came out clutch this playoffs, however he’s never been in a situation where he’s double teamed.
In head to head matchups with the Celtics, JT did beat everyone who’s on the starting lineup of this Team USA roster (including Durant who came off the bench the game against Serbia) while being the best player on the Celtics.
It was stupid and a bad look to not play JT for few minutes. Team USA would have won this game anyway. When we were getting our **s kicked by South Sudan in the exhibition game, JT came in with the second unit to get us back in the game. The NBA Finals MVP didn’t make the squad and the best player of the championship team was DNP: this is stupid and a bad look from Kerr either way you look at it.
And do we need to remind everyone that JT won the Gold medal 4 years ago with this team; he was the second best player behind Durant on that squad. Four years later, when he’s a much better player, he just won a championship and you can’t have him on the floor at all?
Windhorst on ESPN try to make sense of this situation, he made it worse. Without saying it but his take meant Team USA would have lost this game if JT has played. This is beyond disrespectful.

The problem with Tatum is redundancy. He is the epithome of "jack of all trades, master of none". In a team full of stars, you want to be "a master" of specific skills. That's why Booker, Jrue, and White are getting minutes ahead of him.
I would argue that Embiid has been net negative for USA, so I would consider giving Tatum the Embiid's minutes.

Lebron and KD are basically him but better in everything except defense, they don't need the lesser version of this type of players. As I said in another comment, you need to define his role in the team first.
