One of the longest trailers I have ever seen! Actually saw the
movie as a kid in the 1960s.

I loved this as a boy when scientific accuracy was not so important as its adventure and discovery.

Mostly filmed near Zabriskie Point, Death Valley, CA. Mariner 4, the probe that gave us our first black and white pictures of Mars, was still months away from reaching Mars when this film was released. The restored Criterion version of this movie, with its extras (interviews and still shots, behind the scenes, etc) is the best version.

Magnificent trailer, a trailer that delivered on the suggestion that this was a very good concept, and followed thru with a very well done production.

Every possible catastrophic events in the universe that could happen through out the 14 billion years of the universe existence happen when an Earthman crash landed on Mars. It's a must watch for sure.

I remember watching this at the theater on a Saturday afternoon matinee. I was about 9, mom dropped off my brother and I . the theater would show double feature on the weekends until about 5 . this was about the early 70's.
    What memories I have.

    Scientifically accurate my left nut!
... Fantastic Planet just released a model of the MGP-1.
Note the presence of Adam West, pre-Batman.
Now I'll just go watch The Martian now.

Love these old trailers!. Was watching this one again, it was YEARS since I last saw it. Adam West's stoney faced and humourless appearance is a million miles away from the camp Batman we all know him for!. It's a great film and even though it's a little out there, it was good to see one of these old fashioned movies and bad effects.

Scientifically accurate when Mars is mostly freezing cold and the lack of atmospheric pressure would cause your eyeballs to bulge from their sockets. The part about Friday is accurate though. The aliens from Orion dropped him off to keep the earthmen company.

253 subscribers (At 2:41 to 2:48 ) Wait a Minute!!! I recognize those Alien spacecraft anywhere.......... Those are reused/repainted/modified versions of the ICONIC Martian War Machines from the classic 1953 Film "The War of The Worlds" (Still a really really great film to this very day).

    "This film is scientifically accurate."
*Features glowing, spherical space rocks, and a Mars depicted as a hot place with an Earth-like (albeit oxygen-poor) atmosphere.*

  • @Roctev
    @Roctev 4 года назад +4

Hmm those alien ships looked a lot like the ones in War of the World's, almost makes you think they reused some props from that movie, well at least recycling was in use back then.
Shame Adam West's character wasn't the lead in this movie he could have used his 'Alien spaceship repellent Bat-Spray' to force those ships back.
R.I.P Adam West Gotham's Bright Knight.

Probably modified the original moulds of the War machines, the original War machine props were melted down for their copper. Shame, props like that deserve to be in a museum.

Pellicola molto bella, certo nulla di eccezionale ma comunque piacevole, ci sono degli errori come il fatto che stranamente, la scimmia non ha bisogno di ossigeno, quindi molto bella e molto bella per me come valutazione è 7,5.
